Chapter 872: The Combaticons Attack (Part 1)
Onslaught's red optics flickered, his gaze landing on Starscream.
"Keep your petty schemes to yourself!"
He was no fool; he naturally understood Starscream's hidden agenda.
Yet, though Onslaught was unwilling to admit it, he knew Starscream had successfully piqued his interest.
"Frenzy, you say?"
In his memory, that was a little guy who didn't even reach his knees—insignificant, ignorant, yet brimming with ambition.
He remembered that he had chosen to enter seclusion back then to heal from his battle with Starscream, and also to adapt more quickly to the body modified by the AllSpark.
But before going into seclusion, he felt, in part, that he saw the shadow of his own once-ambitious self in Frenzy.
Of course, it was mostly because he felt it was all just junk anyway.
So, Onslaught had basically thrown everything he had brought to Earth to Frenzy.
"To think that in less than two years, he's actually managed to carve out a piece of the world for himself?"
Onslaught's gaze toward Starscream grew increasingly icy, for he hated being manipulated.
Yet Starscream did not even hide it; this was an open conspiracy, and he was betting that Onslaught would definitely take the bait.
And Onslaught himself had indeed developed a keen interest in the current Frenzy.
Before his seclusion, the only thing he had thrown to Frenzy that could be considered precious was a Super Intelligence he had brought out from the planet Cybertron.
As for the rest, whether it was those Decepticon Workers or the Medical Spiders, they were all just junk.
As long as he had materials, Onslaught could cultivate as many as he wanted.
Although he was not the premier Scientist within the Decepticon Legion, he was, after all, an elder who had been born during the era of the Council of Ancients.
Millions of years of time were enough for any ambitious Cybertronian to master many things.
The proud Onslaught was no exception; although he never admitted to being a Scientist, the technology he held was ranked among the best within the Decepticon Legion, likely only inferior to the likes of Starscream and Shockwave.
However, the technology Onslaught had left for Frenzy back then was mostly common, low-end stuff.
The only thing that could barely be considered advanced was a design for an Advanced Warrior-level body.
Therefore, the electromagnetic weapons and Temperature Weapons Starscream mentioned were either obtained by Frenzy and his group through other channels.
Or, they were invented by them themselves after Onslaught had left.
Regardless of which possibility it was, it now aroused Onslaught's curiosity.
Starscream, having had his petty schemes exposed, felt not the slightest bit of embarrassment.
He merely smiled slightly; as a schemer most adept at pondering the minds of other Decepticons, the personalities of many colleagues within the Decepticon Legion had long since been thoroughly studied by Starscream.
Seeing that his goal had been achieved, Starscream did not linger any longer.
"His Majesty has also entrusted me with some Tasks, so I will not stay here any longer and shall take my leave."
With the arrival of Blitzwing and the others, the Moon Base was now almost entirely out of his control.
Although this insidious fellow still kept some hidden cards, Starscream was not yet prepared to challenge Megatron again, so he did not intend to use those hidden cards.
Watching Starscream depart, before Onslaught could speak, several members of the Combaticons had already started making a ruckus.
"Captain, are we going to Earth now?"
Brawl was a noisy and clamorous fellow; with his irritable personality, he was a standard Decepticon.
Onslaught glanced at him without rushing to answer.
Blast Off, on the other hand, spoke up with some impatience: "Ever since Blitzwing came to the Moon, the patrol range has grown larger by the day. We used to be able to go out for a spin occasionally, but now we're stuck in this dump every day, like rats. Commander, let's go to Earth and have some fun, shall we?"
Brawl, Blast Off, and Swindle had all once been among the originals for the Replica Warrior Project.
The Combaticons under Onslaught's command had once been a key target for recruitment by the rebellious Starscream due to their extraordinary strength and outstanding combat record.
Although Onslaught, Vortex, and Brawl were not swayed, Blast Off and Swindle were pulled into the rebel camp by that ambitious schemer.
Later, after the first rebellion failed, Blast Off and Swindle were both thrown into the Kuloubao Jianyu, their bodies dismantled at will, and they suffered cruel torture.
Perhaps having learned his lesson from this, Blast Off did not participate in Starscream's second rebellion like Swindle did.
So later, as the Cybertronian Civil War intensified, although he was forced to become one of the originals for the Replica Warriors, his treatment was much better than Swindle's.
As for Brawl, although he lacked brains.
Unlike Blast Off and Swindle—who were forced to have their Memory Data copied after the rebellion failed to become originals for the Replica Warriors cultivated by Starscream—
Brawl was a volunteer; with his fiery and warlike temper, although he had many shortcomings, no one could deny that this guy was an excellent Warrior.
Although he only had the strength of an Advanced Warrior, Brawl always charged valiantly to the front during every battle.
Because of this, when the Decepticon Legion began selecting qualified originals for their Replica Warriors, Brawl immediately entered Shockwave's sights.
And he readily agreed and willingly became one of the many originals for the Replica Warriors, returning from death time and time again throughout the millions of years of the Cybertronian Civil War.
Onslaught had originally been one of the staunchest opponents of the Replica Warrior Project.
For this reason, he had once had a very unpleasant falling out with Brawl, eventually abandoning the heavily wounded Brawl in a certain battle, letting his original body die completely.
And the one standing before Onslaught now, like Swindle, was a Replica Warrior re-cultivated by him using Memory Data provided by Starscream, only with strength slightly greater than before, and having become more obedient than the original.
Onslaught looked at Vortex; among his subordinates in the Combaticons, the only one who had been obedient and followed his orders in the past was this Vortex.
Because of this, before Vortex died in battle, he had cut off the other's head to preserve Vortex's Memory Chip.
"What do you think, Vortex?"
Onslaught already had a decision in his heart, but he wanted to hear Vortex's opinion; after all, Vortex had been his deputy and advisor during the Combaticons era.
Moreover, he himself knew very well that he had indeed fallen into the trap set by Starscream.
Although Onslaught did not believe that the long-unseen Frenzy could threaten him.
Vortex thought for a moment and did not make Onslaught wait too long.
"Commander, I also agree to leave!"
Vortex pointed to the depths of the Base, "Although we will lose energy and other supplies for a short time after leaving. But this is not our Base after all; hiding here for too long might arouse the suspicion of certain big shots once exposed."
Several Decepticons instantly understood who the big shot Vortex was referring to.
And this was the result already decided for the attack; without hesitation, he issued the order: "Then it is decided. First, go and replenish energy. Two days later we depart, heading for Earth!"
"Yes!"
