Chapter 876: Onslaught
Surrounding Hailishi, dozens of Workers, Technical Officers, and Decepticon Engineers finally finished all their work after several hours of busyness.
"Commander, Lord Hailishi's new body is complete. Our next step is to inject energy into his Spark and conduct a comprehensive inspection and adjustment of his body."
"This process may last about 15-20 hours, so do you have any instructions for what comes next?"
The completion of Hailishi's body construction did not mean he would be able to wake up immediately.
Sun Cheng also knew this; he thought for a moment before shaking his head and replying: "I will come back when he wakes up. Sihao Zaochuanchang is not far away, and I plan to go over there to take a look!"
Over here at Lake Titicaca, Base No. 2 had indeed planned a shipyard, though it was not a shipyard in the traditional sense.
Although Base No. 2 had an increasingly large maritime fleet under its command, the main transport ships were basically purchased directly from a certain country in the Far East.
Some important strategic materials and equipment were transported via Cargo Submarine, but the shipyards for those submarines were over on the east coast of the Pacific Ocean.
However, the shipyard located in the hinterland of the South American continent, by Lake Titicaca, was quite special.
Just like the Laboratory that Base No. 2 had specially set up here, it was solely to help Hailishi modify his New Body.
The Sihao Zaochuanchang here was not manufacturing Normal Mode ships, but rather spaceships.
"The Explorer-class Cargo Spaceship is almost ready to launch!"
After more than half a year of rushing the work, the first batch of four Explorer-class Cargo Spaceships had now entered the outfitting stage.
Barring any accidents, the Yinhao, which had the fastest outfitting progress, would be able to conduct flight tests within Earth's atmosphere in at most one month.
And the fourth ship, which had started construction the latest, had also been outfitting for over half a month now.
Since the construction of the fourth ship began, Sun Cheng had only learned about the ship's construction progress through Huan and the Decepticon Engineers under his command; since he happened to be here today, it was reasonable and appropriate for him to go over and take a look.
Among the first batch of four Explorer-class Cargo Spaceships, the fourth ship was considered a relatively special one.
It was not that it had any technical differences from the other three, but rather because ships one, two, and three were all built in the shipyard within the central control area of Base No. 2.
It was not until the fourth ship was ready to begin construction that a Decepticon Engineer suggested moving the shipyard here to Lake Titicaca.
His proposal received the support of many Decepticon Engineers; the reason was simple: the Explorer-class Cargo Spaceship had a massive volume, two or three times larger than the aircraft carriers on Earth.
Although they possessed vertical take-off and landing capabilities, such behemoths required extra caution during both ascent and descent.
Because no one wanted to experience being crushed from high altitude by such a giant.
And this worry was not impossible, especially since the spaceship had not yet undergone testing.
Relying solely on the data on the blueprints, even the Decepticon Engineers dared not guarantee that all the electronic equipment inside the spaceship would not have problems after outfitting was completed.
Therefore, to prevent accidents, it was best to choose a relatively open area for testing.
And within the South American region under the control of Base No. 2, Lake Titicaca, which had already been cordoned off as a military restricted zone by the surrounding countries, was undoubtedly the most suitable flight test site.
Upon hearing that Sun Cheng was going to Sihao Zaochuanchang, those few Decepticon Engineers who were supervising the body construction for Hailishi were a bit disappointed, but they dared not stop him.
"Very well, Commander. Once Lord Hailishi's body inspection is complete, we will notify you to come over before we officially initiate his Awakening!"
"Mm!"
Nodding in response, Sun Cheng glanced once more at Hailishi, who was still lying on the ground, and turned to walk outside.
Although Sihao Zaochuanchang was also near Lake Titicaca, it was still several tens of kilometers away from the place where the body modification for Hailishi was being carried out.
Before Sun Cheng reached the place, a communication access request automatically linked to him.
The Core processed it automatically, and upon confirming the access request came from Thunder, he then connected the communication.
The next moment, Thunder's deep voice rang out in his mind.
"Commander, a satellite we deployed in lunar orbit just captured something!"
Sun Cheng's heart tightened, and he ordered in a deep voice: "Transmit the recorded video over!"
The Decepticons' largest military base in the Solar System was located on the Dark Side of the Moon, and over the past half year or so, they had dispatched Decepticons to invade Earth several times from there.
As a target heavily focused on by the Moon, how could Sun Cheng not learn a lesson?
Although he did not yet know what technology the Decepticons located on the Dark Side of the Moon were using to make the satellites he deployed around the Moon gain nothing.
But if the first-generation detection satellites couldn't scout it, he would upgrade to the second generation; if the second generation didn't work, he would upgrade to the third or fourth.
Sun Cheng had a Decepticon Engineer under his command who was currently responsible for the satellite upgrade work.
Over the past half year, using Golden Eagle series ships, they had successively deployed more than forty small detection satellites onto the Moon.
Although large areas on the Dark Side of the Moon were still difficult to observe under the influence of some kind of technology.
But most areas on the Moon could already be monitored by Base No. 2.
Thanks to this, some Decepticons mining Helium-3 resources on the Moon could now occasionally be captured by Base No. 2.
However, Sun Cheng had some guesses as to what could make Thunder contact him urgently.
"It looks like something incredible has been discovered!"
Sure enough, after receiving his order, Thunder immediately transmitted the video captured by the satellite.
When the Core finished receiving the information and processing the video data, Sun Cheng's eyes suddenly widened.
"Onslaught!"
He finally understood why Thunder was so cautious.
It turned out that the satellite deployed by Base No. 2 in lunar orbit had actually captured the figures of five Decepticons flying away from the Moon.
And among these five Decepticons, there was one figure Sun Cheng could never forget.
The reason was simple: the Decepticon leading them was none other than the high-ranking Decepticon Commander whom he had been using as a banner to intimidate others for the past two years--Onslaught!
"Has this guy Onslaught hidden himself on the Moon? No wonder I couldn't find him anywhere on Earth!"
Recognizing Onslaught, Sun Cheng could not help but feel a wave of ripples in his heart.
If one were to speak of his attitude toward the Decepticon Onslaught, he had once been wary but mostly felt a sense of closeness, yet now it had all turned into hostility.
The reason was simple: one's position determines one's attitude.
