Chapter 891: The First Battle Against Bruticus (Part 2)

~7 min read 1,268 words

Just my luck, the very thing I feared is happening!

Sun Cheng could no longer suppress the urge to curse out loud!

If one were to ask what he feared most when facing the Autobots and Decepticons right now?

Aside from the main legions of the Autobots and Decepticons, it would have to be the Giant Combiners!

Even Leader-class Warriors ranked much lower on Sun Cheng's list of threats.

After all, whether it was the Autobots or the Decepticon Legion, he only knew of a handful of Leader-class Warriors!

Compared to these Leader-class Warriors who rarely took the field themselves, both the main Autobot legions and the Decepticon armies could likely muster at least a hundred thousand warriors.

Especially the latter; facing such a terrifying scale of combat power.

It is no exaggeration to say that even the Decepticon clone warriors who had invaded Trindade Island several times before could destroy all defensive forces on Earth in just a few days if their numbers exceeded ten thousand.

If Sun Cheng were the commander of such a force, he would immediately split off a portion of his troops to launch a focused surprise attack on the nuclear-armed nations of Earth.

For the vast majority of nuclear-armed nations on Earth, nuclear retaliation relies on land-based systems.

Even for the United States and Russia, which possess massive sea-based retaliatory capabilities, aside from a small amount carried during necessary daily patrols, the vast majority of nuclear weapons launched from sea-based platforms—just like those stored on land and air platforms—are kept within designated military bases.

Therefore, destroying these military bases at the first opportunity would basically destroy the nuclear retaliatory capabilities of all nations on Earth.

As for the conventional weapons on Earth, to be honest, there are indeed some that can harm Cybertronians, but their deployment, mobilization, and reaction capabilities are clearly not on par with the Cybertronians.

So, as long as the Decepticon commander invading Earth isn't a fool, with over ten thousand clone warriors, supplemented by a small number of Advanced Warriors/Elite Warriors to serve as shock troops and commanders, they could occupy Earth with ease.

Even Sun Cheng and his forces would likely have their entire foundation wiped out if faced with a strike of that scale.

And the main armies of the Autobots and Decepticon Legion, even the weaker Autobots, could still field forces far exceeding that scale, and the quality would be just as strong, if not stronger.

This is also the reason why Sun Cheng has tried his best to avoid irreconcilable conflicts with the Autobots ever since he offended Megatron.

And the Giant Combiners were also a headache for him.

As the name suggests, this type of war machine was created for the sole purpose of war.

During the former Cybertronian Civil War, even the most inconspicuous first-generation Giant Combiner—Devastator—had dominated the outcome of many battles on the front lines; the number of Autobot military strongholds, cities, and bases conquered by Devastator numbered in the dozens, if not a hundred.

One must know that what Devastator faced back then were the elites of the Autobots during the first Cybertronian Civil War.

From this, one can see just how terrifying a Giant Combiner is when it unleashes its full destructive power.

If he could, Sun Cheng would not want to face such a war beast right now; it is thankless and exhausting work.

But fate loves to play tricks on people; he never expected that Onslaught and his Combaticons would also possess the technology to cultivate Giant Combiners.

The deep blue electric arcs became increasingly blinding, gradually making Sun Cheng feel as though he couldn't even keep his eyes open.

Although he hadn't seen this scene many times, he knew it occurred when a Giant Transformer combined.

Many Cybertronian scientists had studied this phenomenon, but their understanding of it remained sparse.

Of course, none of this was what Sun Cheng cared about right now.

Almost immediately, upon confirming that Onslaught and his Combaticons had been modified and possessed the ability to combine into a Giant Combiner, he felt the urge to retreat.

However, although he had the urge to retreat, Sun Cheng also knew that Onslaught would certainly not let them go so easily.

Everyone had reached a point of genuine fury, and he himself had already lost two Advanced Warriors under his command.

"Advanced Warriors, fall back a hundred meters and prepare to use plasma weapons for long-range suppression!"

It wasn't that Sun Cheng hadn't considered dealing them a heavy blow during the time before the Combaticons finished combining.

But after attempting to fire a few energy bullets with the plasma weapon in his hand, they were interfered with by the deep blue electric arcs surrounding the Combaticons and ultimately dissipated into the air.

Afterward, Sun Cheng gave up on the attempt and made the decision to have the Advanced Warriors fall back, while he, Thunder, and Frenzy would provide close-range suppression against this unknown Giant Combiner formed by Onslaught and his Combaticons.

The combination of the five Decepticons of the Combaticons was much faster than the Devastator Sun Cheng had encountered before.

The deep blue electric arcs only lasted for a few dozen seconds before completely dissipating.

As that blinding arc of electricity vanished entirely, a ferocious giant, as hulking as a titan from mythology, immediately caught the eyes of Sun Cheng and his team.

"An unfamiliar Giant Combiner I've never seen before..."

Sun Cheng frowned slightly, his vigilance instantly heightened.

Giant Combiners, these behemoths cultivated for war, have overwhelming advantages over Leader-class Warriors in terms of speed, strength, and firepower.

If not for the serious problem of energy supply holding them back, these monsters, which Shockwave had cultivated on a whim, would likely have already wiped out the Autobots.

"Attack!"

After coldly issuing the order, Sun Cheng was the first to raise his weapon and aim it at this unfamiliar Giant Combiner.

"Boom!"

The shell fired from the Plasma Hand Cannon accurately struck the chest of the unfamiliar Giant Combiner before it could even react.

Following that, dozens of energy bullets were fired from the weapons of Thunder and the others, almost all of which hit the big guy.

The power of Sun Cheng's Plasma Hand Cannon was naturally extraordinary, instantly blasting a shallow crater into its chest.

As for the energy bullets that followed, most could only leave some tiny cracks on the surface of its chassis.

But the Giant Combiner clearly hadn't expected them to dare to take the initiative to attack it, and it only reacted when the explosions occurred.

It looked down at the wound on its chest, and when it raised its head again, the look in its eyes as it stared at Sun Cheng—the one who posed the greatest threat to it—was filled with brutality: "You have successfully angered me!"

Amidst tremors that felt like an earthquake, this behemoth rushed toward him rapidly.

Sun Cheng frowned slightly, pushed his speed to the limit, and managed to maintain a distance that was neither too close nor too far, while his Plasma Hand Cannon continuously fired energy bullets.

At the same time, two missiles extended from his back and were fired directly at the big guy.

To deal with a Giant Combiner, whether for Autobots or Decepticons, the most direct and effective method is to mobilize a group of Elite Warriors to pin it down at close range.

Then, mobilize firepower from the rear to provide cover, striving to wear it down until its physical energy can no longer sustain it, forcing it to automatically disengage its combined mode.
