Chapter 901: Exploration 3

Underground ice lakes exist on Mars, having already been discovered by exploration teams sent out by the Decepticons, and more than one location has been found.

Although there are no signs yet that civilization ever originated on this planet, the fact that Mars nurtured life in the ancient past has already been confirmed by the Decepticon exploration teams.

However, the discovery of a likely underground ice lake in a place suspected to be a Maxim Emperor Laboratory is definitely not good news.

Although Cybertronians have stronger survival capabilities in extreme environments than carbon-based life forms, this does not mean they are unaffected.

At the very least, Sun Cheng does not have the confidence that he could persist for too long in an extreme environment below minus 100 degrees.

Therefore, he worries that the former elder of the Cybertronian civilization might use this ice lake with its unknown environment to hide some dangerous things.

"Stay alert!"

After Sun Cheng gave the instruction, an Advanced Warrior immediately understood.

He suddenly waved his hand, and two Warriors immediately walked out from behind him, quickly opening a huge Alloy Case they had brought along.

The Small Reconnaissance Device did not fly very fast; they were special reconnaissance equipment specifically manufactured by the Decepticon Engineer at the Mars Base for this exploration mission.

During the flight, the four sets of Small Reconnaissance Device would continuously release detection waves to map and feed back the terrain, while also performing preliminary material analysis on everything they saw.

On the light screen, the images of the terrain and material analysis scanned by the Small Reconnaissance Device flashed by rapidly.

Although all the data was fleeting, for the Decepticons present, it was enough for them to record it all.

The detection range of the Small Reconnaissance Device is 10 kilometers; beyond this distance, even the Decepticons would find it difficult to process the data transmitted by them.

"Approaching the detection limit!"

An Advanced Decepticon Warrior suddenly gave a reminder, and Sun Cheng nodded slightly.

He also did not expect the space below to be so large; it seems that back in the day, the Maxim Emperor indeed researched some incredible things here.

"Continue searching until out of range!"

Sun Cheng reached out to his back and gripped the Heavy Sword in his hand.

A group of Decepticons walked quickly, and they kept moving forward along this tunnel that had been opened up who knows how many years ago.

Not long after, frost caused by the low temperature had already begun to appear in large patches on the bodies of some Normal Decepticon Warrior and Worker.

"The temperature is approaching minus forty degrees!"

As he walked, Sun Cheng extended a finger, and water droplets began to appear on his slightly heated fingertip.

"The air is gradually becoming humid!"

This tunnel does not go straight forward or downward, but winds and twists.

He calculated in his mind that he and the other Decepticons had already traveled several kilometers forward in a short while, and after passing a turn, they would soon arrive at the last place where the Small Reconnaissance Device disappeared.

As they went deeper underground, the temperature became lower and lower.

"Commander... they can no longer continue forward!"

An Advanced Decepticon Warrior suddenly called out to stop Sun Cheng.

He looked back and noticed that many Worker already had ice blocks condensed on them, and they had to consume the energy within their bodies to generate heat to maintain their mobility.

His brow furrowed for a moment, then Sun Cheng relaxed it.

Cybertronian are not completely invincible; their bodies are indeed stronger than humans who are carbon-based organisms, but this strength only raises the lower limit and increases the upper limit; there is ultimately a limit.

"You all stop here!"

He looked at the spacious passage, "Contact the Mars Base, send the data here over, and let them design a batch of vehicles that can transport Worker and equipment in polar ice field environments! Have them manufacture them as soon as possible and send them here!"

This Maxim Emperor Laboratory is suspected to be built on or near an underground ice lake.

The temperature in the depths is likely to reach minus seventy or eighty degrees, or even lower.

For the vast majority of life, there is clearly no development potential here.

Extreme cold can be used to test some special materials and equipment, and if there really is an ice lake nearby, it is a big harvest in itself for the Mars Base, which is severely lacking in industrial water.

Sun Cheng then looked at the Warriors who could still persist, "Leave a team to protect them, the rest continue forward!"

With the current design and manufacturing capabilities of the Mars Base, a few vehicles that can be used in polar ice field environments could likely be specifically manufactured in just over ten hours.

"Yes!"

Leading the remaining Decepticon Warrior, Sun Cheng and the others continued to move forward, and after rounding another bend, everyone suddenly felt their eyes brighten.

At the end of the passage ahead, a huge, spacious underground space appeared before the eyes of all the Decepticons.

"There is a light source!"

An Advanced Decepticon Warrior immediately took out his weapon, "You few, come with me!"

Without needing Sun Cheng's order, these Warriors under his command, who had already been baptized by multiple battles on Earth, took the initiative to rush toward the unknown underground space ahead.

Sun Cheng did not stop them, but he was not prepared to sit by and watch his subordinates fall into danger.

He was behind the vanguard, his weapon also gripped tightly in his hand, his fingers constantly stretching to prevent the ice crystals trying to freeze his hands from ever forming a solid block.

The first team of Decepticons to rush in is currently inspecting a light source closest to the passageway.

"It is truly miraculous; this is a type of micro-organism capable of emitting light... What is even more miraculous is that they can actually survive in a frigid environment of tens of degrees below zero, and their habitat is even within the ice layer itself!"

Sun Cheng swept his eyes across it and immediately grasped the general situation of the tiny organisms within the light source.

He was just about to further analyze the information on this type of light-emitting micro-organism when suddenly, a Decepticon Warrior, who had autonomously dispersed to the vicinity to stand guard and inspect after entering the underground space, let out a cry of alarm.

"Commander, an anomaly has been discovered here!"
