Chapter 913: Meeting 2

~7 min read 1,352 words

After the drones were dispatched, Sun Cheng handed the task of finding Optimus Prime to his Intelligence Chief, Mola.

However, he did not remain idle; seeing that a war was likely about to break out on Earth, he felt it necessary to make preparations in advance.

Therefore, in the days since returning from Mars Base, he had been inspecting various arsenals controlled within the territory of Base No. 2, supervising the production of various military supplies.

With the continuous development of Base No. 2, more than half of the countries in South America had already fallen under Sun Cheng's control.

He had never used force to occupy them; in this land without a future, Sun Cheng had too many ways to gradually bring it under his grasp.

For example, the method Base No. 2 had been using was very simple and brutal.

Mola dispatched a number of Humanoid Decepticons to replace some of the target country's important politicians, capital giants, and military personnel.

Subsequently, Base No. 2 would send Decepticons to secretly contact the country's high-level government officials to reach a certain tacit understanding.

Next, Base No. 2 would purchase at high prices some mineral deposits that were of extremely high value to the country but were too remote or too difficult to develop, while simultaneously purchasing large quantities of cheap industrial finished goods and daily necessities from the Far East to stabilize the country's prices.

Supplemented by a small amount of threats, plus military and equipment exports, they would eventually gradually control the target country's military, political, and business sectors.

And after settling these, the ordinary people in South America were the easiest to fool.

Sun Cheng had always liked to pursue a Pig-Raising Policy, that is, using low-priced goods to lower the cost of living and high welfare to increase happiness; at the same time, Base No. 2 had a large number of shell companies within South America that could provide many so-called South American elites with high incomes and sufficient channels for upward mobility.

Under a series of measures, most countries in South America had now fallen under the control of Base No. 2.

Of course, as South America had long served as the backyard of the United States, the changes here naturally could not escape the eyes of the Americans, especially the CIA.

Over the past few years, Base No. 2 had engaged in no fewer than a hundred contests with the Americans within South America, killing and capturing no fewer than six or seven hundred CIA spies; while causing them heavy losses, they had indeed managed to accomplish some things.

For instance, there were still considerable voices of opposition and resistance forces within South America to this day.

But Mola was equally ruthless in dealing with them; those who jumped the most were directly assassinated, and those who actively incited resistance were directly kidnapped and sent to Hades as research material.

By now, most countries in South America becoming puppets of aliens had become a tacit understanding among countries on Earth, and even many international conferences had begun to gradually exclude them and not invite them to participate.

Yet this did not affect Sun Cheng and Base No. 2's control over the area in the slightest. After mastering most of South America, for the convenience of management, the base divided the entire South American region into 100 different areas on the map, assigning different Decepticons to be responsible for managing each.

Among them, Area 1 was the Trindade Islands, which was the Black Market set up by the base for the outside world; it was managed by the Precursor and could bring the base nearly a quarter share of minerals and precious rare earths every month.

And where Sun Cheng was currently located was Area 74, situated in the south-central part of South America.

The Decepticon Engineers of Base No. 2 discovered that the mountains in Area 74 were very hard, so they excavated and hollowed out some of the mountains here, building a batch of high-grade arsenals specifically to produce special shells and several types of missiles for the base.

"Leader, according to the instructions from the base, we are no longer limiting production efficiency and have begun to run at full capacity to produce various shells and missiles for the base!"

After Sun Cheng arrived here for an inspection, the Decepticon Engineer responsible for managing the arsenal immediately accompanied him to begin inspecting the factory inside the mountain belly.

"Currently, this factory of ours has a total of 11 different production lines. Under conditions of sufficient raw materials, we can produce 1,724 rounds of various shells every 24 hours; 344 Decepticon Micro Combat Missiles; 127 short-range surface-to-surface, surface-to-air, and anti-ship missiles; and 14 medium-range missiles of various types!"

The Area 74 arsenal belonged to the production capacity expansion factories, and everything produced here consisted of conventional shells and missiles.

There were other similar arsenals in Area 17 and Area 86. After all, the clouds of war were gradually approaching, and Sun Cheng and his team were also worried about being targeted if discovered here, so the factories were always dispersed.

As for the more advanced Electromagnetic Pulse Bombs, Nuclear Warheads, and more specialized Temperature Difference Bombs, Fuel-Air Explosives, Bunker-busting Missiles, etc., they were all produced in the arsenals within the more core areas of Base No. 2.

Led by the Decepticon Engineer, after touring the arsenal, a fairly satisfied Sun Cheng ordered the Decepticon: "Take me to the ammunition storage depot to have a look!"

With Sentinel Prime's sweeping of Africa, the clouds of war hanging over Earth had become increasingly thick.

Sun Cheng had to ensure that Base No. 2 was prepared for war; currently, the arsenals under the base's control had begun to produce various Combat Robots and weapons and ammunition at full strength.

In the coming war, he had to at least ensure he did not lose to be considered victorious.

"Yes!"

That Decepticon Engineer immediately led Sun Cheng toward the deeper parts of the mountain belly, which was also an area with a higher security level.

After passing through several security doors, they finally arrived at a huge space within the mountain belly.

In this huge space, shells were neatly placed on specially made racks by robots specifically responsible for management and maintenance.

Two beams of blue light shot from Sun Cheng's eyes, and he scanned the temperature inside the ammunition depot slightly, nodding without saying anything.

The temperature here was kept constant at around 18 degrees, dry and slightly oxygen-deprived, suitable for long-term storage of shells.

Subsequently, they went to the ammunition depot where missiles were stored; from the environment to security and internal and external protection, there was no fault to be found.

Seeing that there were no problems, Sun Cheng was quite satisfied.

Since there were no issues here, after giving a few simple instructions, he prepared to leave and continue to other areas for inspection to ensure that they would not be caught off guard when the war arrived.

However, just as Sun Cheng was about to leave, suddenly, a Decepticon walked out quickly from the control center of Area 74.

"Leader, we have just received an emergency communication from the Central Main Control Base; please review it as soon as possible!"

After speaking, the Decepticon Technical Officer raised his head, and at this moment, two beams of light shot out from his eyes, immediately forming a virtual light wall in front of Sun Cheng.

On the light wall, a piece of encrypted information appeared.

After Sun Cheng scanned it, his Core quickly decrypted it.

The emergency communication was from his Intelligence Chief, Mola, and the content also made him very satisfied.

"Drones have discovered the Autobots and Optimus Prime; Optimus Prime has taken the initiative to request a meeting with him!"

"There's a chance; as expected, this young Autobot Leader could not truly sit by and watch Sentinel Prime act recklessly!"

A spirited Sun Cheng decided to pause the subsequent inspections; he needed to prepare well to handle the upcoming meeting with that young Autobot Leader.
