Chapter 944: Irreconcilable
Having experienced it firsthand, Optimus Prime was still very wary of Sentinel Prime's weapon, the Cosmic Rust Gun.
Therefore, after stopping him from attacking the shaking, he quickly dashed into close range, brandished the Heavy Sword in his hand, and slashed toward Sentinel Prime.
Boom!
Sentinel Prime easily blocked the sword slash from Optimus Prime with his shield, but his expression changed slightly.
He was unsure if this student of his had used his full strength, but just a moment ago, he had nearly been forced back half a step.
Even though Sentinel Prime knew very well that he was not yet taking things seriously at this moment.
But the strength of this student of his was already enough to pose a threat to him.
"Teacher, you have already done too much wrong; it is not too late to turn back now!"
Optimus Prime charged toward him again, slashing continuously, forcing Sentinel Prime to retract the Cosmic Rust Gun and draw a Long Sword to engage him in close-quarters combat.
At the same time, he also kept trying to persuade his teacher with words: "Look at this city that you have destroyed with your own hands. I have been here before. This is an ancient city with a history of thousands of years; every inch of land in this city embodies the past glory of a civilization!"
"Hmph!"
Sentinel Prime exerted sudden force with the Long Sword in his hand, knocking Optimus Prime back half a step, and looked at Optimus Prime coldly: "Is it me who is wrong? Or have you forgotten your own identity?"
His rich combat experience allowed him to quickly launch a counterattack against Optimus Prime after briefly gaining the upper hand.
With a swing of the Long Sword in his hand, power burst forth suddenly. Optimus Prime hurriedly tried to block it with the Long Sword in his hand, only to see a sudden ferocity on Sentinel Prime's face.
The next moment, his body was sent flying by the suddenly erupted force.
"You are an Autobot, not an Earthling."
Sentinel Prime chased after him again, the Long Sword attempting to pierce the Spark in Optimus Prime's chest, but it was narrowly blocked by his shield.
Yet even so, the immense force of the blade striking the shield instantly caused a deep dent to appear on that shield.
And in the center of the shield, a pierced crack appeared quite prominently.
Sentinel Prime had a ferocious look on his face, trying hard to force the blade through the shield.
And Optimus Prime did not retreat in the slightest, gathering his strength to support the shield.
Because of the two's struggle, cracks soon appeared on the concrete road beneath their feet.
Sentinel Prime had already used his full strength, and seeing that his young student, though struggling, was actually able to hold him off.
He hardened his heart and swung the shield in his left hand toward Optimus Prime's waist.
"Boom!"
This blow struck Optimus Prime heavily, quickly leaving an arc-shaped wound on his waist.
The force of the shield's strike was immense, instantly causing Optimus Prime to lose his footing and stagger, nearly falling to the ground.
"You are no match for me!"
Sentinel Prime quickly caught up, and the Long Sword in his hand slashed toward Optimus Prime once again.
But just at this moment, the second wave of attacks from the U. S. military arrived.
"Whoosh... whoosh... whoosh..."
It was the noise of missiles gliding through the air and beginning to fall.
Sentinel Prime keenly sensed the crisis. He looked up and discovered that seven or eight missiles had locked onto the location of himself and Optimus Prime, and were rapidly rushing toward them.
"Hmph!"
He let out a soft snort, then raised his hand and pointed toward the sky, "Optimus Prime, this is the gift from the humans you want to befriend!"
Leaping up, Sentinel Prime erupted with astonishing speed in a short moment.
Before the missiles could hit them, he leaped, stayed briefly in the air, landed, exerted force, and leaped again. In just three or five seconds, by the time Sentinel Prime landed again, he was already sixty or seventy meters away.
Almost the moment he turned around, the missiles had already struck the ground.
The seven or eight missiles were clearly tracking him and Optimus Prime intentionally; the shockwave from the explosion caused the body of Sentinel Prime, who weighed dozens of tons, to tremble as well.
The ground was shattered, and the stones splashed around were like bullets, piercing many of the surrounding landscape trees and buildings.
Striking Sentinel Prime's chassis, it made a series of crackling sounds, like firecrackers.
"A pity!"
His eyes peered through the thick smoke, and he quickly saw the situation in the flames.
In that area, although the flames were still soaring and a deep crater had appeared under the repeated bombardment of several missiles.
But Optimus Prime was not in the crater; clearly, that student of his, whose strength was already catching up to his own, was far more difficult to deal with than he had imagined.
Just as he was being cautious and alert, a batch of small black dots appeared in the distant sky.
Sentinel Prime looked up, and his face immediately turned colder.
"Human air forces?"
High in the sky, the U. S. military fighter jets that had departed from the Red Sea had finally approached the airspace over Cairo.
"Whoosh... whoosh... whoosh..."
Missiles quickly locked onto the Decepticon replica Warriors in the city, who were still destroying things everywhere and venting their anger from being bombed.
Sentinel Prime watched this scene coldly, his gaze quickly turning to the other side, staring at Optimus Prime, who had also escaped the missile attack just now.
"Do you see? This is humanity... After I woke up, I investigated the past history of humans."
"They have the same base nature as the Decepticons: arrogant, bellicose, and insatiable..."
"Although their civilization has only been born for a few thousand years, their entire civilization is a history of war, constant expansion, and annexation..."
"It only took them a few thousand years to reach the heights that we once took millions of years to achieve..."
"Especially in the last two or three hundred years, the several industrial revolutions that Earthlings praise... every single one was built upon countless slaughters and corpses..."
Optimus Prime looked at the sky in silence; he still had not wavered in his philosophy of seeking peaceful coexistence with Earthlings.
But at this moment, at least he had no way to refute his teacher.
Because human history is indeed a history of war.
Every page of history only records what the rulers want others to see, but what is ignored between the lines are piles upon piles of white bones.
Optimus Prime arrived on Earth earlier than Sentinel Prime, and he also began to understand Earth earlier.
Therefore, he certainly knows more than Sentinel Prime, especially after the repeated backstabbing and underhanded schemes he endured while cooperating with the United States to form the NEST force; even with his good-natured temperament, he had bottled up quite a bit of anger.
After a long while, Optimus Prime sighed softly and looked at him, slowly opening his mouth: "Teacher, not all humans on Earth are arrogant and bellicose. Just like within the Decepticon Legion, there are Decepticons like Jetfire and Frenzy who oppose unjust wars. Even within us Autobots, there is no lack of Autobots who are skilled in conspiracies, tricks, and enjoy backstabbing."
"Every species has the right to pursue Evolution; likewise, using any means necessary to survive, while detestable, is not shameful!"
Sentinel Prime's face suddenly twisted, "Since that is the case, then let us have a taste of the detestable in his eyes!"
With a sudden burst of force under his feet, he immediately raised his long blade and charged at his former student once again.
The ideological conflict between this pair of student and teacher had long since become irreconcilable.
