Chapter 961: Solus Prime's Hammer

~7 min read 1,257 words

Africa, New Iacon.

Optimus Prime looked at the fortress, which had suffered immense destruction, his expression somewhat heavy.

Ironhide did not have as much composure as him and had already begun to curse loudly: "These damn bastards, it hasn't even been that long, and they've already trashed our hard work into this state!"

As the Commander of the New Iacon fortress, he had invested too much effort into building it, so seeing the large areas of New Iacon destroyed now, he was already extremely furious inside.

Ratchet patted him on the shoulder without saying anything more.

Sentinel Prime had opened the portal in the fortress, and although the Decepticon clone warriors who came through did not actively attack the Autobots, with their destructive instincts, casually smashing and destroying the facilities in the city was almost like breathing to animals—it was instinct.

There was no lack of hot-tempered individuals among the Autobots; with Ironhide leading the way, a chorus of curses immediately erupted.

Goldbug walked silently to Optimus Prime's side; he was covered in wounds now.

As Optimus Prime's confidant, having formerly been Bumblebee, he had seemed like a different person ever since he was re-Awakened.

Taciturn, yet still loyal to Optimus Prime, he worked hard to obtain every piece of intelligence he wanted.

"Leader!"

He said in a low voice to Optimus Prime: "Frenzy and the others have already left the African continent. Blitzwing and the others also sustained some injuries while destroying the human naval fleet; they seem to be hiding somewhere in East Africa to recover. I have already followed your orders and issued a summons to the Autobots scattered across Africa, but the number of Autobots who have not responded is still significant!"

These pieces of intelligence were all within Optimus Prime's expectations.

Although he heard that some Autobots had refused his summons.

Optimus Prime only remained silent for a short while before nodding slightly, "You have already done very well, Goldbug!"

He thought for a moment, then turned to look at Ironhide.

"Ironhide, I will personally lead a team to clear out those Decepticon clone warriors and Quintesson soldiers within Africa. You are the most familiar with New Iacon; I hope you can stay behind to hold the fort and restore New Iacon to its original state as soon as possible!"

Ironhide nodded heavily, "Leave it to me, Leader!"

Although he also longed to go to the battlefield to deal with those Decepticon clone warriors and Quintesson soldiers.

Ironhide was not a brainless brute; he was very clear about the damage Sentinel Prime's actions over the past period had caused to the Autobots' new home.

He quickly selected some Autobots who were not skilled in combat, along with a small number of Warriors, to prevent anyone from taking the opportunity to launch a sneak attack on New Iacon.

And Optimus Prime, only after Ironhide had finished selecting his personnel, spoke again in a deep voice: "Our former Leader, Sentinel Prime, has committed a very serious error. He betrayed our civilization and race, not only cooperating with the Decepticon Legion but also leading the evil Quintessons to Earth!"

"I know some comrades may not understand why I am so angry!"

"Earth is indeed not our home planet, but Cybertron was destroyed in our past wars with the Decepticon Legion to the point where it can no longer support our reproduction and life. Therefore, we need a new home, and Earth is the new home I have found for the Autobots."

"The tragedy of Cybertron should not be repeated on Earth."

"I therefore chose to cooperate with the not-so-evil Decepticon—Frenzy, to avoid endless war repeating itself as much as possible."

"But some conflicts, I fear, cannot be completely avoided just because we want to."

"Megatron and his Decepticon Legion are currently hiding on the Moon, eyeing our new home covetously!"

"Sentinel Prime has brought the Quintessons here, exposing Earth's coordinates to those evil colonizers. At the same time, the conflicts that occurred in Cairo not long ago, and those that are constantly unfolding on the African land now, will greatly affect the friendship between us Autobots and the original inhabitants of Earth—the humans!"

After experiencing a betrayal and conflict with his teacher, Sentinel Prime.

Optimus Prime was clearly more mature than before. This young Leader of the Autobots, despite still disliking lies, had already learned to play the art of language just like the cunning humans of Earth.

"Therefore, in order for us to better integrate into the big family that is Earth, and for the sake of our new home, I announce that the Autobots will send troops to eliminate all the Decepticon clone warriors and Quintesson soldiers here in Africa!"

After a moment of silence, a heaven-shaking shout immediately erupted in New Iacon.

"Good!"

"Good!"

"Good!"

Leaving aside the situation in Africa, as soon as Sun Cheng returned to his Laboratory, he was just about to quickly digest those memories of Sentinel Prime.

Just at this moment, a voice suddenly interrupted his actions.

"Your current state is very strange!"

It was a gentle female voice, carrying some electronic tones.

Sun Cheng froze for a moment, then suddenly stood up from his metal throne.

"Solus Prime!?"

He recognized that familiar yet unfamiliar voice; it was indeed from Solus Prime.

He was somewhat pleasantly surprised and slightly astonished, and he walked to a corner of the Laboratory.

There, Solus Prime was currently placed inside a specially made, massive crystal container.

Inside the container were over a dozen long, sharp needles. From time to time, azure electric arcs resembling lightning would burst forth from the needles, land on Solus Prime, and then be completely absorbed by it.

This was a set of energy-replenishing equipment designed for Solus Prime by the Decepticon Senior Engineers under Sun Cheng's command.

He walked straight to the device and looked at Solus Prime, which was humming inside the massive crystal container. He remained silent for a long while before asking: "Can you feel my current state?"

Ever since he obtained this Yuanzu Weapon, which was comparable to the Requiem Blaster, Sun Cheng had always held both high expectations and wariness toward it.

The Requiem Blaster had long been designed by him and integrated into his own body; because he could be with it day and night, he already had a good understanding of this former weapon of The Fallen.

But the Requiem Blaster clearly did not have as strong a self-consciousness as Solus Prime, which was also a Yuanzu Weapon.

So, ever since he obtained this Yuanzu Weapon, Sun Cheng had suspected that the self-consciousness within the weapon was actually the consciousness of Solus Prime, one of the original Thirteen Primes of Cybertron.

He guessed that even if it wasn't Solus Prime's entire consciousness, it was at least possibly a segment of memory.

It was precisely because of this guess that Sun Cheng felt both wary and expectant toward it.

He longed to have a good exchange with that former Prime of Cybertron and even gain her support.

But because of the encounter at the Nameless Temple more than a year ago, Sun Cheng had always maintained some hostility and guard against these Primes whose life-and-death status was unknown.

Under this contradictory psychology, he both longed to have a good exchange with the unknown consciousness within Solus Prime and worried that it might be detrimental to him.

So, until today, the exchanges between them had only occurred twice, and they had not involved any important information exchange or sharing at all.
