Chapter 973: The Awakening of Jetfire Project

~7 min read 1,341 words

"What a fine show I've just watched!"

Withdrawing his gaze from the screen in front of him, Sun Cheng stood up, preparing to leave his lounge.

The conference held in New York, United States, and initiated by the Americans, was in his view nothing more than a farce.

Because the Americans had been repeatedly attacked by the Decepticon Legion, their main naval and air forces—which they relied on to flaunt their military might globally—had suffered heavy losses, and the foundation of their hegemony was no longer stable.

Coupled with the new government that had come to power, they possessed even less of the superb political maneuvering skills of the past Cold War era.

In Sun Cheng's view, this conference was purely an attempt by some new U. S. government officials to take a desperate gamble, using ideological conflict as a weapon to regain control over the international political situation.

It is just a pity that they were clearly no shrewder than the politicians of other countries.

Having lost the military force they relied on to threaten other nations, America's performance in international politics would be no more brilliant than that of any other country.

Look at this; Sun Cheng had also hidden behind the scenes and pulled a few small strings just like them, and he had already achieved unexpected results.

Next, there should be endless bickering, ultimately ending in nothing.

At the very least, regarding matters involving Russia and the various South American countries, the Americans would never be able to gain any advantage.

Its allies, the old Europe, would not have many countries willing to experience what it feels like to be blockaded by the Black Market and then completely removed from the ranks of powerful nations.

Moreover, among the five permanent members of the Security Council with nuclear weapons, three had already been lobbied and pacified by Sun Cheng.

No matter how much the remaining two jump around, the topic would eventually be steered toward the Decepticon Legion and the Autobots.

Sun Cheng had already guessed the ending, so he was in no mood to worry about this matter anymore.

He still had quite a few things on his hands that needed to be dealt with.

Sun Cheng still had not managed to digest the majority of the Memory Data regarding Sentinel Prime.

Besides that, he had also recently begun the final preparations for the Awakening of Jetfire.

The Awakening of Jetfire was already an imminent matter; in the blink of an eye, it had been nearly two years since Sun Cheng brought him back from that American museum where he had been sleeping.

Over the past year or so, he had actually been struggling with how to deal with Jetfire.

Much of Jetfire's Memory Data had already been read by Sun Cheng, and the team of Decepticon Engineers under his command had even converted it into a trump card they relied on for survival.

However, those most important pieces of Jetfire's Memory Data—such as many things regarding his own past, as well as some top-tier black technology he had mastered in the past, especially the Space Bridge technology that Sun Cheng obsessed over—had all been encrypted by Jetfire, who was a great Scientist himself, and until now, Sun Cheng and his team still could not crack them.

Added to this was the sudden appearance of the Quintessons, which also caused more unease to well up in Sun Cheng's heart.

With all these factors combined, even though the Forge of Solus Prime now allowed him to use it to forge some equipment.

Sun Cheng, who had always suffered from a severe lack of a sense of security, felt it was necessary to add a few more trump cards to cope with the Earth situation that could explode at any time.

Jetfire, the great Scientist born during the era of the Cybertronian Elder Council, was undoubtedly a very good choice.

Leaving the lounge, Sun Cheng headed straight for the Laboratory where Jetfire was currently dormant.

Soon, after passing through several security procedures, he entered the spacious, massive Laboratory.

As soon as Sun Cheng came in, the several Decepticon Engineers busy inside the Laboratory hurried over to pay their respects upon seeing him.

"No need!"

He waved his hand, then looked toward the center of the Laboratory, at Jetfire, who was located inside a huge transparent glass case.

At this moment, Jetfire, who had been placed inside the cultivation device in the Laboratory, had already transformed into his combat mode.

To be more precise, Jetfire, who was currently being placed inside the cultivation device, had his entire body—except for his head, spine, and Spark—completely gone.

"How far has the Awakening Project for Jetfire progressed?"

Sun Cheng paused in front of the cultivation device, watched patiently for a moment, and then asked.

The reason Jetfire had become this way now was mainly because he could no longer produce any more AllSpark Fragments.

Although Jetfire, born during the era of the Cybertronian Elder Council, was not a qualified Warrior according to the records and his own Memory Data.

But as one of the great Scientists of Cybertron in his prime, Jetfire had also received a massive tilt of resources from the Cybertronian civilization back then, and in his heyday, his combat power was also comparable to a Leader-class Warrior.

To awaken a Leader-class Warrior—and one who had been forced into a deep sleep for many years because the resources within his Spark were nearly exhausted, to the point where even his body had begun to severely decay and even show signs of rusting—was no small feat.

The Decepticon Engineers under Sun Cheng made a simple calculation; they believed that although it would only take about one AllSpark Fragment to wake Jetfire from his coma.

His state after waking up would still be terrible, and it would take at least one or two more AllSpark Fragments to allow him to fully recover to his peak state.

Because of this simple calculation, Sun Cheng had to give up on waking Jetfire directly with fragments.

He did not have many AllSpark Fragments on hand to begin with, and although he had a few spare ones in the past.

When he was building his New Body, one had already been embedded into his own Spark, successfully mutating it into a powerful Spark.

Another one was used by Sun Cheng to create Hailishi, this silent big guy, who currently counted as one of the trump cards with the most terrifying firepower under his command.

And the remaining fragments were mostly used for cultivating Newborn Decepticons.

Sun Cheng could squeeze out at most one fragment, but in the eyes of someone who cherished his life as much as he did, that AllSpark Fragment was one of his few life-saving measures.

He had kept that fragment from the beginning to prepare for a day in the future when he might suffer injuries that could not be repaired in a short time, intending to use it to heal himself.

Therefore, Sun Cheng, having no more AllSpark Fragments on hand to use for waking Jetfire, could only choose other means.

Thus, at the suggestion of the Decepticon Engineers under his command.

Sun Cheng finally finalized the plan for the Awakening of Jetfire: to create a New Body for him, transplant his original brain and Spark into the New Body, and then use other means to wake him up again.

This plan had both advantages and disadvantages!

The advantage was that it could save at least two to three AllSpark Fragments!

The disadvantage was that they needed to consume a large amount of precious metals and materials, and at the same time, the New Body newly designed for Jetfire would require a period of breaking in before Jetfire could exert his full strength.

Of course, the biggest trouble was that no Decepticon Engineer dared to give Sun Cheng a definitive answer.

Because they also did not know how long it would take for Jetfire to wake up after changing into a New Body.
