Chapter 985: Mechanical Dinosaurs
The Quintesson, scolded by Lockdown, was instantly enraged.
The face that had been showing a look of contempt toward him was now replaced by an angry voice emanating from another of the Quintesson's faces, which wore an expression of fury.
"Shut up, you base, inferior species! Who gave you permission to look directly at us, the noble ones!?"
Lockdown stood before the light wall with his arms crossed, one hand tapping irritably against his arm from time to time.
"So, are you trying to violate the agreement I have with the Quintessa Queen?"
Within Lockdown's scarlet optics, an emotion called danger was brewing.
Although as a Bounty Hunter, he was mercenary and could perfectly complete his employers' commissions most of the time.
But that did not mean Lockdown was a good person!
In fact, what was widely publicized across the universe alongside his high completion rate for commissions was an extremely high mortality rate for his employers.
In many past commissions, Lockdown had, for various reasons, personally killed the employers who had hired him.
Therefore, describing him as "steeped in iniquity" was actually more appropriate.
The Quintesson on the light wall all froze simultaneously upon hearing the name of the Quintessa Queen.
Soon, the face with the giggling expression spoke up in its unique, shrill voice.
"No, no, no, no... as everyone knows, we Quintessons always keep our promises; what is yours is yours... remember this coordinate, what you want is on the satellite of this planet..."
A long, thin metal arm, resembling an octopus tentacle, suddenly extended from within the Quintesson's cylindrical body.
It tapped the void in front of it, and a small star map instantly appeared; at the same time, there were several lines of strange patterns below the star map, which were characters unique to the Quintessa Civilization.
Lockdown quickly recorded the star map and the Quintessa characters representing the satellite's coordinates; he had done countless evil deeds for the Quintessons in the past, so he was not unfamiliar with Quintessa characters.
"I hope you aren't playing any tricks!" He warned the Quintesson coldly, then turned around, seemingly about to leave.
"Wait!"
The Quintesson on the light wall called out to him, "Do not forget the Queen's order. She wants that newly born Prime from the planet Cybertron!"
Lockdown's figure paused, then he strode out.
And almost the moment he walked out of this cabin, the light wall inside the cabin dimmed as well.
The moment the alloy door closed, what appeared in Lockdown's line of sight was an incomparably spacious, giant cabin.
The cabin was partitioned into many small cells, inside which were imprisoned many strange creatures from various civilizations in the universe, primarily Mechanical Life forms that looked fierce even in appearance.
This was Lockdown's trophy room.
The moment Lockdown appeared in this trophy room, the vast majority of the Mechanical Life forms imprisoned in the cabin looked at him with anger and fear; some even curled up, and one look at the shattered marks on their bodies revealed that they had been tortured by Lockdown many times in the past.
However, there were exceptions!
Several mechanical beasts, whose appearances looked extremely like the dinosaurs that had once appeared on Earth, only larger and more ferocious, refused to lower their noble heads even now, despite being covered in glaring wounds, and kept roaring at him.
Lockdown's cold gaze swept repeatedly over those mechanical dinosaurs roaring at him; with a thought, dozens of ghostly blue electric arcs appeared out of thin air inside the small cells where those mechanical dinosaurs were imprisoned.
The electric arcs, like long whips controlled by someone, lashed continuously against the bodies of those mechanical dinosaurs.
And as the electric arcs struck, those mechanical dinosaurs that had originally been roaring at Lockdown soon began to emit thick white smoke, as if they were food in a steamer.
At the same time, their vigorous roars turned into screams and cries of pain.
"Hmph, I want to see how long you can hold out!"
Lockdown watched the mechanical dinosaurs being tortured and broken in the trophy room with an expressionless face, his eyes full of ferocity.
These mechanical dinosaurs were found by him on a certain planet not long ago, and their prototypes were exactly the dinosaurs from Earth.
In ancient times, the Quintessa Civilization had visited Earth, and their Planet Transformation Force had attempted to use the Quintessa Civilization's planet transformation technology to convert all carbon-based life on Earth into metal.
This plan failed at the time for some reason; as for why it failed, the Quintessons did not tell Lockdown the reason.
However, at that time, in order to study the ancient ecological environment of Earth.
The Quintessons had ordered the Planet Transformation Force of that time to capture some creatures and samples from Earth to take away for research.
And among the samples taken away by the Quintessons back then were fossils of dozens of types of dinosaurs that had lived on Earth in ancient times.
Yes!
These mechanical dinosaurs in Lockdown's trophy room were the products of the cruel experiments of the Quintessa Civilization.
Back when their civilization was at its peak, the Quintessa colonizers had conquered and colonized countless planets.
Although the Quintessons were notoriously infamous in the universe, no one could deny that these disgusting monsters, whose brains were filled only with conspiracy and expansion, were almost all top-tier scientific talents.
They used the peaceful Cybertronians to create the war race that would later almost destroy their own civilization—the Decepticons.
They also captured and imprisoned countless races in the universe, using them to create all sorts of ferocious and terrifying monsters.
And these mechanical dinosaurs that appeared on Lockdown's ship were the reward given to him by the Quintessons as a commission after a previous cooperation.
In ancient times, several Quintessons had used dinosaur fossil specimens obtained from Earth on a colonial planet, combined with some Predacon technology from the planet Cybertron, to artificially create these monsters.
At first, they had wanted to create a war weapon that was more powerful than a Predacon and easier to control than a Terrorcon.
But later, the Quintessons realized they were wrong again.
Those who attempt to play with life, even the Quintessons, will eventually be countered by life itself.
The mechanical dinosaurs they created were indeed more powerful than the vast majority of Predacons.
But the mechanical dinosaurs they created were even harder to control than Terrorcons.
The mechanical dinosaurs bred at the very beginning had little to no reason; they would stubbornly attack every life form they saw, including the "Quintessons" who fancied themselves as creators.
In the end, these mindless failures were abandoned by the Quintessons on a certain planet, along with that great uprising and the Cosmic Rust that almost destroyed the Quintessa Civilization.
As it turned out, life played a big joke on them!
The mechanical dinosaurs that had once been created and abandoned by them not only survived on that planet after the Quintessa colonizers left, but even gradually bred their own tribes.
And the mechanical dinosaurs imprisoned in Lockdown's trophy room were the strongest leaders of several tribes he had captured on that planet.

PS:
There are many different accounts regarding the origin of the Dinobots in the Transformers encyclopedia.
I have personally seen five different versions across animation, comics, and derivative works: created by the ancient civilization of Cybertron, modified gladiators, created by the Autobots, cultivated by the Decepticons, and created by the Quintessa Civilization.
Although among these versions, the claim that they were cultivated by the Autobots has higher acceptance due to the G1 animation.
However, this book of mine aligns more with the Quintessa Civilization version, so I chose this one; please do not blame me!
