Chapter 41: No Comment
Inside the massive conference room, Mo Mishu sat opposite the people from the Interstellar Command; while appearing calm and composed on the surface, his mind was actually racing.
Their Huo Group was a law-abiding company, and although their business spanned several star systems, they were well-regarded in the Interstellar Federation, and the boss's business dealings were all clean.
How could this Interstellar Command have come knocking?
And...
His gaze swept over the interstellar badges on their shoulders: one lieutenant colonel, two colonels, and several fully armed soldiers following behind.
This was quite an aggressive display!
"Officers, I am very sorry, but our President Huo is out on business and cannot return for the time being. I am President Huo's personal secretary and can handle relevant matters on his behalf."
Zhou Rui's brows were tightly locked; the purpose of their visit was that Rehuohu Meishidian.
Why would President Huo not be at the company?
Was it related to the purpose of their visit this time?
Given that it concerned rare plants, they could not help but overthink.
But now that they had already alerted the enemy, they had to flush this snake out and catch it!
"Very well, Mo Mishu. Our visit this time is of great importance, and we hope your side can fully cooperate with our investigation." After speaking, Zhou Rui extracted the data in his hand and projected it into mid-air.
On it were Rehuohu Meishidian, Boxed Meals, plant data, and, of course, the plant testing reports.
Mo Mishu had only one feeling in his heart: Oh no, they had been discovered.
He appropriately displayed surprise, followed by confusion.
"Is someone actually selling plants in the Interstellar?"
"I don't know why you officers have come to our company? Could it be that you think our company possesses these plants?"
"You have come to the wrong place. Our company does indeed operate a shop system on the Light Brain, but what is sold is not something our company can decide."
"I think you all should stop wasting your time at our company."
Mo Mishu was like a wall of copper and iron, distancing his company from any responsibility and claiming no connection whatsoever.
Zhou Rui also knew he was running circles around them.
For something as precious as plants, perhaps they had already received news of it internally long ago.
"We checked the coordinates where this shop was registered, but they are in a confidential state. The shop is signed under your company and has a partnership with you; you should know the coordinates of this shop!"
He crossed his arms over his chest, his entire aura fully unleashed; the long-standing aura of slaughter, combined with the suppression of his Mental Power, caused the entire conference room to be oppressed by a powerful force.
He attempted to use this method to put pressure on Mo Mishu, forcing him to say something.
"You should know the importance of plants to the Interstellar."
Unfortunately, Mo Mishu was no pushover.
He was able to climb to his current position not just because he could handle official business.
His own Mental Power was sufficiently formidable!
Plus, the Huo Group itself possessed a certain level of defensive capability.
Therefore, their Mental Power suppression was completely useless against Mo Mishu.
"Officer, this shopkeeper has indeed signed a contract with our company, but both sides signed a confidentiality agreement. Therefore, I do not have the authorization to view the shop owner's address, nor do I have the right to disclose it. Please forgive me."
"Nonsense!" Song Jinyan could not hold back and was the first to roar out loud.
"How could you not know the other party's address when you signed a contract with them? Furthermore, why would you sign a contract with them if not for the plants in their hands!"
All these excuses were, in their view, nothing more than high-sounding pretexts!
Mo Mishu remained as steady as an old dog, not showing any impropriety because of his words.
"Our company chooses which shop owners to cooperate with based on recommendations from the marketing department according to merchant data. The other party has the right to sign a confidentiality agreement; this is our company's protection of our partners' privacy."
"You are obstructing official business! I demand that you immediately cooperate with our work!"
Was the other side trying to use force?
"May I ask which interstellar law this shopkeeper has violated? Do you have a search warrant or an arrest warrant from the officers? If not, I am afraid I do not have the right to disclose anything."
A single sentence choked their words in their throats; they could neither say them nor swallow them.
They indeed had nothing in their hands.
"He has plants in his hands; don't you realize how important that is to our Interstellar!"
Song Jinyan was truly about to be angered to death by these old office slickers.
He wished he could immediately drag the person to the Xingji Laoyu to 'enjoy' themselves properly.
"You all have missed a key point. First, our company does not have any plants. Second, we have signed a contract, and leaking a partner's privacy is a crime. Finally, I think it is truly unreasonable for you all to come and pressure our company."
"You!"
"Enough."
Song Jinyan wanted to say something more, but was stopped by a low roar from Zhou Rui.
The two sides stood in opposition, scrutinizing each other; even though Mo Mishu was alone, he projected the momentum of an entire army.
Zhou Rui was so angry he laughed, his eyes flashing with coldness, "Very well, we have seen your company's attitude. We shall see."
Mo Mishu remained composed and polite, making a gesture of invitation, "Our company welcomes you all at any time!"
Even after returning to the spaceship, Song Jinyan still could not swallow this anger, his fists clenched at his sides.
"Officer, are we just going to let it go like this? What about the Marshal..."
Zhou Rui, having been rebuffed, was not feeling well either; it had been a long time since he had met someone who stood up to him so firmly.
"I will go speak to the Marshal. You send people to keep a close watch on the Huo Group!"
"Yes, Officer!"
At noon, Ruan Mian took out the eggs that the chicks had laid over the past two days, preparing to make the tomato scrambled eggs that Huo Junze was always thinking about.
Then she would make some green pepper and eggplant, stir-fry some shredded potatoes, and then stir-fry some mushrooms or corn kernels; it would be simply perfect.
There aren't many eggs, so today's Boxed Meal will be a complete blind box.
Huo Junze, who was helping to pick vegetables, received a call request from Mo Mishu.
With a swipe of his finger, Mo Mishu's virtual projection appeared in mid-air.
"Boss, someone from the Interstellar Command just came by!"
A single sentence made the movements of Huo Junze's hands pause, his dark eyes sinking slightly.
He could roughly guess what it was about.
His gaze fell upon the mushrooms in the basin, and his deep voice carried a hint of seriousness, "Oh? What did they say?"
"They found out that we signed Boss Ruan, and now they want to come to us to find Boss Ruan's coordinates. But I sent them away."
He added one more sentence, "I believe we need to prepare early!"
"Mm, write a proposal for me."
"Understood, Boss!"
Their conversation was naturally overheard in its entirety by Ruan Mian, who was to the side.
She also knew of the Interstellar Command, the department that manages the Interstellar; everything in the Dongbu Xingxi falls under their jurisdiction.
"Huo Junze, have I been discovered?"
