Chapter 786

The next day.

The second day of the Lunar New Year.

Nine o'clock in the morning.

The box office figures for the first day of the Spring Festival season were freshly released, with a total box office reaching 1.5 billion!

Ranking first was *Resident Evil*, with a first-day box office exceeding 600 million; *Me and My Mother* ranked second with 250 million; and *The Comedy Family* temporarily ranked third with 240 million!

Not long after, the You Mingyue Studio, the cooperating cinema chains, and the actors who participated in *Resident Evil* all posted a celebratory poster for the first-day box office breaking 600 million!

You Mingyue's friends in the industry also forwarded them one after another.

At this moment.

The internet exploded even more!

"Six hundred million! My god!"

"Holy crap! You Mingyue is awesome!"

"I remember their second movie only had a first-day box office of 300 million, right? Now it's straight to 600 million; they're getting more and more heaven-defying!"

"Only??? (Laughing and crying), industry insider passing through, do you know what a 300 million first-day box office means? That's already a dream unreachable for many directors in their entire lives, let alone six hundred million! Too humble!"

"Six hundred million on the first day, this is heading towards a two-billion box office."

"Based on my experience, it's more than that; three billion is also possible!"

"Too perverted!"

"Wife is the best (voice crack)!"

"One thing to say, it's really good!"

"..."

At this very moment.

The sisters' expressions, however, became very strange.

After the first-day box office came out, they received many WeChat messages from people one after another.

Such as:

Yang Mi: "Congratulations, amazing!"

Li Yaohuo: "Director Yue is awesome! This trash director begs Director Yue to take me to fly."

Xuan Yi: "Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations to Director Yue for hitting 600 million on the first day!"

Lu Liang: "You guys are too strong!"

Jiang Zuofei: "Little sister is awesome! No one else!"

Additionally, there were also messages from teachers.

Ye Rongyu: "Good apprentice is really capable, well done."

The young girl smiled; of course she was capable.

Cheng Shuying: "You didn't lose the prestige of our Cheng School Qingyi."

The young girl blinked; anyway, she didn't see what a movie about a biochemical apocalypse had to do with the Cheng School Qingyi, but as long as this big sister was happy, it was fine.

It was just that the messages from those close friends were quite lewd.

"Craving it." This was sent by Lin Yan.

"Such a good figure, want a hug." This was sent by Zhu Xudan.

"Hubby, I love you." Dai Si made no attempt to hide it.

"Really want to lick the screen..." Kana had also learned to be bad.

"Boss, please keep me." Zhao Jingmai was a bit more subtle.

"Sister Yue, thump me..." Chen Yao specifically sent a voice message.

The young girl really doubted if she had some hidden talent for turning others into perverts, or if these women's hearts were originally like this, and their true nature had just erupted now?

However, come to think of it... it felt pretty good.

The sisters looked at each other and replied to them one by one with their phones.

Over the next few days.

The box office of *Resident Evil* climbed steadily under the explosive popularity and word-of-mouth!

Six hundred million was not its end, but merely its starting point!

And as equally large-investment films—*Me and My Mother* and *The Comedy Family*—although their overall box office was quite good, compared to *Resident Evil*, their box office appeared very lackluster.

It could be said that they were pinned to the ground and beaten by *Resident Evil*.

In the days that followed, as cinema chains increased the screenings for *Resident Evil*, the gap widened further and further, until finally, one couldn't even see their taillights.

As for other movies, there was no need to say more.

One week later.

The cumulative box office of *Resident Evil* reached 2.9 billion!

Rounded up, it was approximately 3 billion!

It remained the number one box office for the Spring Festival season in China; it was almost a certainty that this movie would take the Spring Festival box office championship, and even Jesus couldn't stop it.

Not only that.

Looking globally, *Resident Evil* was also the global box office number one for the same period!

This box office achievement surpassed a host of Hollywood blockbusters, including several superhero films and sci-fi blockbusters.

You have to know, Hollywood blockbusters are generally not released in a single market; besides the North American market, there are Sakura, Goryeo, Western Europe, Australia, India, the Middle East, etc., whereas *Resident Evil* was only released within the Chinese market.

This was truly fighting the global market with the market of one country!

And yet, it won.

This was enough to show the box office appeal of *Resident Evil* and the terrifying potential of the Chinese market.

It left countless foreigners shocked.

And the box office of this movie was also the craziest and most terrifying one among all of You Mingyue's movies to date!

The reasons for this were multifaceted.

First, it was the Spring Festival season; everyone had money and leisure! Moreover, those watching movies weren't just individuals; they often watched as a family, after all, gathering together for the New Year, one couldn't just watch a movie alone and eat alone.

Second, this was You Mingyue's first sci-fi and commercial film; before its release, it was already filled with anticipation.

Third, the novel and stunning zombie setting; everyone has curiosity, and the appearance of a new movie setting would attract a large amount of attention.

Fourth, the young girl smashed 500 million in investment, maxing out the special effects of the entire movie; it could be said that she went all out in this regard.

Fifth, this was a big-heroine movie, and the heroine was top-tier in the Chinese entertainment industry in terms of looks, figure, acting, and action scenes...

Combined, the right time, the right place, and the right people created such a blockbuster masterpiece of a movie.

Precisely because of this, even though the movie hadn't left theaters yet and there was still extremely high room for box office growth, You Mingyue had officially and successfully joined the ranks of China's top filmmakers with this film's achievement!

Calculating carefully, they were now 5 billion box office directors + screenwriters + leads!

The first-week box office for the Spring Festival season was released, bringing a huge shock to the industry, like the ocean, stirring up stormy waves.

【Garbled text】

"It's already nearly 3 billion now; if things go well, this You Mingyue movie might enter the top ten in Chinese film history!"

"I estimate there's no problem; the tenth box office is 3.8 billion, and *Resident Evil*'s box office isn't far off."

"They are already 5 billion box office directors now; oh, right, not only directors, but also screenwriters, and the female lead... they achieved in just three movies what others couldn't achieve in a lifetime!"

"Chosen child!"

"Wrong! It's God's own daughter!"

"They are only twenty years old! It's hard to imagine what level they will grow to in the future? Internationally famous directors? Global superstars?"

"This pair of twins is too perverted! Too evil!"

"Didn't expect them to be so ruthless in commercial films! If they can continue to make movies like *Resident Evil* in the future, the movie market will have a lot of fun!"

"Tell a horror story: no need for 'like'; *Resident Evil* still has sequels; if I were them, I'd be dying to make three, four, or five parts of this movie!"

"Rolled crazy!"

"Too crazy! Truly the Roll-Emperor!"

"Kneeling and begging You Mingyue to go roll the music industry, web novel circle, anime circle, streamer circle, anything is fine, can you please let the film and television industry go first?"

The last discussion point went viral on the internet not long after; whether playing memes or voicing opinions, film and television industry practitioners posted such Weibo messages one after another.

They were truly scared of being rolled by these two moons! ===== CHAPTER 787 =====
