Chapter 234: Qin He Was Furious
The spiritual melon wasn't large, weighing only five or six jin.
Qin Bi wasn't a child and wouldn't squabble with one; she planned to taste it fresh and then stop. Rong Juan took his youngest son, scooping sweet watermelon into the little one's mouth with a small spoon.
Qin Bi, who hadn't cared for Rong Yang much, worried, "Is it okay for him to eat so much?"
The Rong He Shizi replied, "This is a spiritual melon."
Qin Bi understood: good things should be eaten freely as they benefit children, though they were expensive. One spiritual melon likely cost countless monster crystals; silver probably couldn't buy it.
Qin Bi hadn't traveled to this world for nothing; she understood these things. Mainly, her vision had been limited before. As a concubine-born daughter of the Hou Fu, she had only encountered a few cultivators.
She had no interest in what others showed off. Since she couldn't get them herself, seeing them only made her feel worse.
Qin Han was very interested. In the end, Qin Han and Qin He became close, like sisters. They knew much and understood much, whereas Qin Bi couldn't find a single topic they agreed on.
Regarding cultivation, Qin Bi only learned about it after marrying.
Before that, Qin Bi could say she had never encountered it.
People value self-awareness. Just because you transmigrated doesn't mean you have top-tier spiritual roots or are a great heroine; that's wishful thinking. Don't expect too much. For instance, she, Qin Bi, is some kind of half-immortal emperor, but so what? Except for saving her life at critical moments, no one has ever been killed by it.
Qin Bi kept wanting to kill Qin He. What was the point of keeping such a thing alive?
Her half-immortal power was only to protect herself. If she wanted to cultivate, she would have to start from scratch. After all, in this life, she was merely a concubine-born daughter of Qin Yan Hou Fu, nothing more, with no immortal techniques.
Qin Bi looked at her youngest son; the little milk ball could really eat!
Rong Yang ate a third of the melon, she ate two pieces, and the rest went to the little milk ball. His tiny hands waved, grabbing the spoon and gulping it down happily.
"Rong Chi can really eat!" Qin Bi laughed.
"It must be too hot." Rong Juan's expression didn't change. The man, dressed in a black He Shizi robe, patiently fed the little milk ball. "The child is too young; the heat makes him crave cool, spiritual watermelon."
Qin Bi felt sorry for him; after eating the melon, Rong Yang clearly hadn't had enough.
Rong Juan spoke up: "Cut the other one."
Qin Bi wouldn't spoil the mood. She stood up and cut the watermelon while Rong Yang muttered beside her, "It's so precious."
Qin Bi looked at Rong Juan. Rong Juan nodded slightly: "Eat it. Later, I'll go to the Immortal Gate. As a powerful He Shizi of Great Yan, I can afford spiritual melons for my wife and children."
Qin Bi knew Rong Juan had this ability. She cut the spiritual melon, planning to give it all to the children.
Rong Juan said nothing, scooping a spoonful of spiritual melon to feed Qin Bi. Qin Bi didn't make a fuss and ate it. The two little ones could really eat; the second spiritual melon was gulped down and gone.
Now the little milk ball stopped fussing and just babbled.
Rong Yang leaned against the Rong He Shizi, smiling as he talked to his younger brother. The Rong He Shizi wiped the little one's mouth, yet this didn't stop the babbling. Qin Bi wanted to poke him.
Rong Juan glanced at her, and Qin Bi dropped the idea; the He Shizi was displeased.
"Are we eating more today?" Rong Juan asked Rong Yang.
Rong Yang shook his head: "I'm full."
They didn't ask the younger one; even if they did, he couldn't speak.
Rong Juan said, "Tomorrow I'll go to the Immortal Gate."
Qin Bi loved her children and nodded in agreement. If the children wanted to eat expensive things, she would buy them. She was too lazy to ask the price; it certainly wasn't cheap. The Immortal Gate wasn't anything good; their items were ridiculously expensive, and others couldn't afford to eat them.
Qin Bi stood up to check Rong Yang's small vegetable patch. It was a plot the size of a table, planted with a jumble of things. The vegetables grew thin, worse than bean sprouts. "What kind of junk is this?"
Rong Yang squatted to look. Qin Bi said, "Plant a watermelon. I'll plant it."
"Okay," Rong Yang said good-naturedly. "You plant it."
Qin Bi took Rong Yang's small teacup, poured a handful of soil onto the table—two jin of soil gathered—and then took Rong Chi's small teacup, pouring out half a jin of soil, which Qin Bi kept.
Rong Yang curiously took a small teacup and poured and poured, but there was nothing. The small teacup didn't always have soil, and the water poured out was limited. Rong Juan's eyes flickered.
Some people have luck; you can't deny it.
Today, Qin Bi and the two children weren't hot. Rong Juan was in a good mood. The next day, he went to the Immortal Gate and brought back two spiritual melons and a string of fruit, enough for the two little ones to ration for two days.
Qin Lang didn't come to find Qin Bi. Qin Bi was very eager to go reclaim wasteland.
Arriving at Qin Yan Hou Fu, Jiang Shi complained to Qin Bi: "How does some people have such good luck? The Cui family wanted a high-grade water-spirit spiritual plant, and Qin He happened to have one. In this hot weather, the Cui family sent Qin He several spiritual melons and a basket of spiritual fruits."
Qin Bi wasn't envious. That water-spirit spiritual plant was likely obtained before. Since Qin He couldn't gain benefits elsewhere, she started using her old treasures. Before, Qin He had everything going her way and had obtained many good things.
As powerful He Shizi, He Yan and Rong Juan had visited the small space of the Monster Realm with Xue He Shizi. Some small spaces didn't lack items containing spiritual energy. It wasn't strange for Qin He to have many.
"Where are my elder brothers?" Qin Bi asked. "I want to go reclaim wasteland."
Jiang Shi said, "They are all in the study discussing it."
Qin Bi and Jiang Shi went to Qin Tang's study. Qin Xun and Qin Lang were both there. After discussing together, Qin Bi, being eager, found everyone was waiting for her. Thus, they decided to go reclaim wasteland tomorrow.
The children would be easy to handle. The Rong He Shizi couldn't take two, so Rong Yang could be sent to He He Shizi.
Qin Bi went to see He Shi. He Shi was leaning listlessly on a concubine couch. A basin of ice sat in the room. Qin Bi walked over: "Mother, what's wrong?"
She wasn't a biological mother, only a principal wife. Yet whenever Qin Bi encountered trouble and sought her principal wife, the principal wife never treated her poorly. Qin Bi felt close to He Shi. Most concubine-born sons and daughters thought the principal wife was bad, but Qin Bi did not.
"Nothing," He Shi stood up and said. "It's hot; people have no energy."
There was no way around it. Qin Bi hesitated slightly, then ordered a guard to return to Rong Wang Fu to fetch some ice. When the guard returned, he also brought a basket of ice cream. The children at home shared it, and Qin Yan ran to tell Qin He.
Qin He sent someone to the shop to ask who took the ice cream. She owned the shop; taking advantage of her wasn't allowed.
The shopkeeper said, "The Rong He Shizi sent someone to take it. What, is that not allowed?"
Qin He's person returned with the report. Qin He was furious. The ice cream shop had a share for two He Shizi. Xue Wang Fu could take whenever they wanted, and the two He Shizi could too. If Qin Bi took ice cream from the shop, she could question it.
But since the Rong He Shizi sent someone to take it, Qin He couldn't say a single no.
Qin Lang ran to tell Qin Bi. Qin Bi was disdainful. If Qin He knew that Qin Bi collected all the silver the shop earned, Qin He could just die. It was just cheap ice cream; she would eat it just to spite Qin He.
If Qin He was unhappy, Qin Bi's mood improved.
Before, the Rong He Shizi didn't care about the fourth branch. Since marrying Qin Bi, everything belonging to the fourth branch of the Hou Fu was now provided without fail.
