Chapter 25: The Teleportation Array
If anyone can do it, whoever tries to snatch it will get smashed.
"Not exactly," Rong Juan shook his head, pondering slightly before saying, "Was your talent the same as your brother's during the test? If it was, your talent would be nearly invisible. But one thing is certain: you possess the lightning attribute."
Qin Tang considered this, somewhat surprised.
Qin Lang paused for a moment. Could the lightning attribute possibly have anything to do with his illegitimate cousin?
"Is the lightning attribute good?" Qin Bi wasn't particularly happy yet; she asked first to understand the situation.
Her heart wasn't ruled by a god; a huge drop in expectations would be unbearable.
Jiang Xu chimed in, "It's good. Combined with battle qi, it makes one formidable in combat."
Rong Juan secretly glanced at Qin Bi again. Could it be that she had gained some battle qi value from marrying their Rong family heir? With her frail appearance and love for crying, being formidable in combat was hard to believe.
Qin Xun was somewhat delighted: "Father and Grandfather will surely be happy if they know."
But Qin Bi knew it wasn't that simple. She didn't understand, but that didn't mean she didn't know how difficult cultivation was. If the path of cultivation were easy, the entire Great Yan Kingdom would be cultivating.
Possessing just a lightning-based ability wasn't worth making a big deal out of.
Glancing at the summoning magic treasure, Qin Bi was surprised; she hadn't expected it to be truly powerful.
She had thought it was just a teacup and hadn't valued it. Indeed, magic treasures in the cultivation world cannot be judged by appearance.
Without the summoning magic treasure, she would never have been able to unleash her lightning ability in her lifetime. Qin Bi felt she probably had more than just this one ability. There was no reason; it was just a feeling.
When she was young, her intuition was poor; whatever she guessed was wrong. In recent years, her guesses have generally been accurate.
Speaking of intuition, while Qin Tang, Rong Juan, and others were talking, Qin Bi looked up at the sky where the lightning had condensed. Qin Lang asked his elder brothers, "Are we still going to kill the beast?"
Jiang Xu looked around, "There are no beasts here anymore. We'll have to search elsewhere."
Qin Xun watched Zhang Sun Rao's group; the crowd was still locked in fierce combat. The white foxes in this small space were not low-level. Qin Xun's eyes showed envy: "Those few white foxes are truly excellent."
Their fur is fine, and their crystals must be top-notch as well.
Rong Juan followed his gaze and shook his head, "Didn't you see their summoned beasts and summoned plants? They are all bloodthirsty types, especially the summoned vines; their combat power is very strong."
Later, Rong Juan added, "We can't defeat the white fox beasts."
Qin Bi didn't join the conversation. As she searched the sky, she paused. The summer heat was intense, but a flash of purple streaked across the void. Qin Bi's gaze froze; a guess formed in her mind, and a faint smile appeared on her face.
Qin Bi raised a finger and pointed, "Is that the lightning I summoned?"
Hearing this, everyone looked over, and Rong Juan, who knew more, was stunned.
After a moment, Rong Juan grew excited: "Let's go kill the white foxes."
Qin Lang was shocked: "We've already struck down four beasts, and this lightning bolt hasn't finished striking yet?!!!"
"As long as the lightning hasn't dispersed, it's fine," Rong Juan said excitedly, rubbing his hands and starting to talk nonsense. He pointed at two nearby beast-hunting teams, "Should we intercept their beasts, or go elsewhere to find the white foxes?!"
Qin Tang was startled. Just moments ago, others had maliciously viewed them as ants to be crushed, yet now they were rushing to intercept others' beasts? That wasn't how things were played.
Qin Tang, being more steady, said, "Let's go elsewhere to find and kill a white fox."
Qin Bi agreed. Everyone in this beast world's small space who came to train were either low-level cultivators or those not yet initiated, yet their strength varied greatly. Some with good talent, being low-level cultivators, could easily crush those not yet initiated.
One must not be showy; it leads to stumbling.
Qin Bi said, "Let's just lie low for now!"
"Good," Rong Juan nodded. "Lie low, lie low."
Among the group, only Rong Juan was overly excited; the others merely felt a bit more confident. Qin Xun and Jiang Xu ran ahead to scout for the white fox beasts, while the others followed.
Rong Juan, the lucky fat man, was right about the matter he favored. About a li away from where Mu Jun's group was fighting, Jiang Xu discovered five white foxes in a patch of small flowers and grass amidst the barren sand.
Jiang Xu stared at them while Qin Xun went back to call Qin Tang, Rong Juan, and the others.
Qin Tang and the others quickly arrived. Qin Bi took the teacup, summoned the lightning bolt from the sky, and unleashed a cool thunder strike. The result was a barrage of fireballs that made the five medium-sized white foxes run around yelping.
One white fox even tried to pounce. Qin Bi narrowed her eyes; if it dared to attack, she would destroy it.
Qin Bi held the teacup in front of her. The combination of fireballs and lightning struck down the ambushing white fox, leaving it lifeless.
"Sister, you are magnificent," Qin Lang said, nearly jumping for joy.
The bean sprout and the two tabby cats were strolling nearby; it was none of their business.
Jiang Xu gave Qin Bi a thumbs-up: "Impressive."
Qin Tang felt an indescribable gloom. He thought that if Qin Bi had been properly cultivated when she was young, not only would she have brought glory to the Qin Yan Marquis Fu, but the Marquis Fu wouldn't have fallen into its current state of decline.
After the eldest cousin Qin Yan, the title was lost.
He couldn't think about it; thinking about it only made his heart ache.
Rong Juan and Qin Lang ran up to the beasts to inspect them, finding them incredibly rare. However, the lightning-struck beasts were full of energy. Rong Juan and Jiang Xu felt it improper to claim one, as Qin Tang and his brothers were clearly protecting Qin Bi.
"You take it!" Rong Juan said, guardedly scanning the surroundings. Turning back, he added, "White fox crystals and fur are valuable; they can even be sold for many spirit stones. If others see them, they will try to snatch them."
In the beast world's small space, killing people to steal treasures was very common.
Qin Bi didn't stand on ceremony. She didn't store them away either; instead, she produced a small teleportation array and forcibly teleported the five white fox beasts back. She still wanted to kill beasts, and she wouldn't let anyone steal even one.
Inside the Rong Wang Fu, Rong Juan held a child, enjoying the cool air in the courtyard.
A teleportation array appeared in the sky. Rong Juan waved his hand, and the array descended into the front courtyard of the Wang Fu. With a "thump, thump," the beasts landed; they were all white foxes with fine fur, though their coats were incomplete.
The Rong Wang, his concubines, and their children all rushed out.
Upon seeing the white fox beasts, the illegitimate children revealed their greed.
Rong Juan recognized the teleportation array. The handsome man holding the child looked slightly surprised, then cast a cold, sharp gaze over the Rong Wang's concubines and illegitimate children, his face full of contempt.
"They belong to my son," Rong Juan said, looking down and cooing to Rong Yang, "Go sit somewhere cool."
The Rong Wang's concubine chuckled lightly, "The child is still young; he can't use so much fur, can he? And there's beast meat. Children haven't grown teeth yet, have small appetites, and can't eat beast meat."
"You probably don't know that my son has a little treasury," Rong Juan said, in a good mood and not minding to remind the restless people in the residence. He sneered, "The beasts can be sold, and the spirit stones exchanged can be put into my son's little treasury."
White fox beasts were rare. Selling them for money to save up would make the concubine ache with regret. She glanced at the Rong Wang.
The Rong Wang looked at Rong Juan. The heir Rong Juan was tall and handsome, standing in the courtyard holding the child. He lowered his gaze to coax the child, not even looking up. The child had shivered in fright when the beasts fell.
Rong Juan coaxed him gently, and the child finally looked around curiously.
