Chapter 345: No One Can Snatch Him Away
Rong He Shizi said to the little milk bun, "You must be good."
The little milk bun nodded, "Goodie."
Rong Yang glanced at the child; the agreement was too swift.
Rong Yang did not stay either; he had to return home to eat with his mother. His younger brother would remain at Yan Guogong Fu. He did not love returning home, yet it was not that he forbade the little milk bun from going home.
He was raised by Rong Wang Fu, consuming more than half their reserves; Yan Guogong Fu should now raise a cub for Rong Wang Fu.
Before leaving, Rong Yang took most of the spicy duck heads.
The little milk bun: "..."
The young prince: "..."
The little milk bun had a sweet mouth; he said he would be good, but once Rong He Shizi and Rong Yang left, things would be quite different.
He did not eat seriously; the young prince bounced around eating braised duck heads while the Yan Guogong Lady coaxed him on the side. He Yan took the opportunity to scoop a spoonful of egg custard to feed the little milk bun, who ate one bite then returned to playing.
Was He Yan annoyed? No, he enjoyed it.
Yan Guogong glanced over with envy, snatching the small bowl and spoon: "Go change into your court robes; I will feed him."
When Rong Yang was young, Yan Guogong's entire family had no chance to raise a cub. Now a milk-cute cub was delivered right before them, with an identity similar to Rong Yang's. Yan Guogong Fu should raise him; Rong Yu was another beloved grandson of Yan Guogong Fu.
Yan Guogong held the spoon, scooping egg custard. The little milk bun called out, "Grandfather."
"Ai." Yan Guogong was coaxed by that "Grandfather" until he lost his bearings.
"You must also attend court." Yan Guogong Lady was envious too; such a tiny cub was simply precious. She reached out to snatch the spoon: "A woman must raise children; I will feed him."
Yan Guogong would not give the spoon to Yan Guogong Lady: "No rush. If I raise my grandson, would the Emperor find fault?"
Yan Guogong Lady could not snatch it, so she took a small handkerchief to wipe the child's mouth. The little milk bun looked at Yan Guogong, then at Yan Guogong Lady, bubbling with happiness; he was the cutest cub.
"Grandfather." The little milk bun called.
"Ai." Yan Guogong's stern face broke into a smile.
"Grandmother." The little milk bun called again.
Yan Guogong Lady responded, "Ai."
The little milk bun tirelessly called out Grandfather and Grandmother. Yan Guogong and his wife were delighted, answering every call, absolutely refusing to let a single one fall to the ground. They treated it as raising Rong Yang all over again; look how good he was.
The young prince, watching from the side, envied him: "Rong Yu younger brother, you are so fortunate."
The little milk bun had good eyesight; he was born into Rong Wang Fu, spoiled by Rong He Shizi and Rong Wang into a little lucky pouch. The little fellow even chose his family himself. Rong Yang did not acknowledge him, yet Rong Yu insisted he was He family's child.
The entire Yan Guogong Fu truly cherished Rong Yu; look at him being treated like the moon among stars.
Feeding a bowl of egg custard, and the whole family circled around him.
Inside Xue Wang Fu, Qin He heard that the little milk bun had gone to Yan Guogong Fu yesterday, received many good things, and had gone there again early this morning. She was so angry her lungs were about to explode.
"Is Rong Yu He He Shizi's child?" Qin He asked in a rage.
After asking, Qin He violently smashed the tea cup.
Porcelain shards scattered across the floor. Fu Bao ran into the room and stopped in her tracks.
Seeing her mother was angry, Fu Bao ran out.
The maid was carefully cultivated by Qin He, possessed cultivation base, and could speak up before Qin He. She could not remain silent. Qin He grew angrier. The maid looked left and right, then stepped forward.
"He Shizi's Wife, how could Rong Yu, the little He Shizi, possibly be He He Shizi's child?" The maid said what Qin He wanted to hear: "If Rong Yu, the little He Shizi, were He He Shizi's child, it would cause a major disaster."
Qin He naturally understood. She gripped the table in anger and said, "Since he is not He He Shizi's child, it is excessive for him to run to Yan Guogong Fu demanding this and that. Our Fu Bao was raised as the legitimate young lady in Yan Guogong Fu, yet she did not receive so many things."
Monster beast crystals, defensive talismans; normally Yan Guogong and Yan Guogong Lady were not so generous.
Qin He ground her teeth in hatred. These things should have belonged to her Fu Bao. The child born of Qin Bi was full of cunning schemes; even so young, he knew how to sweet-talk Yan Guogong out of his treasures.
If he followed Rong He Shizi, the little He Shizi of Rong Wang Fu should be even more noble.
Unlike this Rong Yu, whose eyes were shallow, grabbing at everything.
Qin He could not bring herself to like the child born of Qin Bi.
Qin He did not like Rong Yang, nor did she like Rong Yu. At first, out of respect for Rong He Shizi, Qin He had a slight fondness for Rong Yu, but now, she detested the child.
"Exactly." The maid observed Qin He's expression and agreed: "The little He Shizi of Rong Wang Fu could not possibly obtain things from Yan Guogong Fu. It is just rumored; how could He He Shizi truly give so many good things to the little He Shizi of Rong Wang Fu?"
Qin He calmed down, taking a deep breath: "Yes, someone must have deliberately revealed this to me. It must be Qin Bi. She is deliberately making me angry so she can be happy."
The maid nodded, helping to analyze: "If it were Rong Yang, the little He Shizi, Yan Guogong and Yan Guogong Lady might perhaps gift some monster beast crystals and defensive talismans. Giving them to Rong Yu, the little He Shizi, is impossible."
Seeing Qin He deep in thought, the maid continued: "Rong Yu, the little He Shizi, is not like our Fu Bao, the little Junzhu. Fu Bao, the little Junzhu, was watched over by Yan Guogong and Yan Guogong Lady since childhood and treated as the legitimate granddaughter of the Guogong Fu. Even Rong Yang, the little He Shizi, is a grandson who suddenly appeared; naturally, the bond differs from one raised since childhood. Fu Bao, the little Junzhu, cannot obtain it, so no one else can. Someone is deliberately guiding you, He Shizi's Wife, to make you know that Yan Guogong and Yan Guogong Lady gave things to the little He Shizi, deliberately provoking your anger."
"If you truly get angry, you have fallen for their trap."
Qin He's mood eased: "I will not get angry. What belongs to our Fu Bao, no one can snatch away."
"Exactly." The old matrons and maids agreed: "Our Fu Bao, the little Junzhu, is a First-Rank little Junzhu, a child born swallowing two auspicious clouds. She has more fortune than anyone. Any good things belong to our Fu Bao, the little Junzhu."
Qin He swept away the gloom, her heart blooming with joy.
Seeing this, the old matron quickly cleaned up the mess on the floor.
Qin He felt relieved and pondered sending Fu Bao to Yan Guogong Fu. Families who love children should visit often, lest people with ulterior motives snatch away Fu Bao's fortune.
Inside Yan Guogong Fu, it had been lively these past two days; the little milk bun lived there.
When night fell, he refused to leave. If they tried to send him away, he would throw a tantrum, crying, "My father~"
Hearing that tone, Yan Guogong Lady cried, "Heavens, you cannot cry like that."
The little milk bun said, "I'm not leaving."
"Okay, okay, okay." Yan Guogong Lady said, "Not leaving."
The little milk bun was happy. When He Yan returned from court, the little milk bun flailed to find He Yan. He had promised not to leave, but at bedtime, the child threw a tantrum.
For two consecutive days, He Yan and the people of Yan Guogong Fu no longer believed the little milk bun's act. As soon as it grew dark, they immediately coaxed and tricked him, sending the little milk bun back to Rong Wang Fu.
Once the little milk bun left, the lively Yan Guogong Fu felt as if something was missing.
