Chapter 378: The Little Prince Possesses Royal Fortune
Qin He said loftily, "Others may benefit from my fortune; I have no desire to borrow from theirs."
The system fell silent. Hadn't Qin He benefited from plenty of fortune in recent years? Why say such a thing? Without borrowing from others, her own fortune value was worrying.
"This is a fictional cultivation world," the system reminded.
Achieving mastery in the Dao is the ultimate goal.
Qin He replied, "Therefore, I am the undisputed heroine."
She had transmigrated with a system cheat; she was the chosen one.
The system: "..."
It was utterly unrelated. The system warned of the hardships of cultivation, yet Qin He thought only of being the heroine. There was not just one chosen one; each small world had its own, and Qin He was merely one of them.
The system was nearly frantic. This was a cultivation world centered on fortune and luck, with countless methods of cultivation. Qin He was not a person of great fortune, yet she made no effort to cultivate and instead rambled nonsense here.
Qin Bi saw that autumn was ending and winter would soon arrive. If they wished to plant anything, they must do so immediately.
Qin Bi felt urgent pressure. She searched again for summoning artifacts. Combat-type summoning artifacts were fine; they could become family heirlooms. But artifacts that summoned rain were not; the amount of rain they could summon was limited, and each use consumed one.
Only a few of the rain-summoning artifacts Qin Bi had previously condensed remained. She searched and found only three. Adding the three given by Rong Juan and Rong Yang, she had exactly six summoning artifacts.
Three were mid-grade summoning artifacts. Qin Bi was unsure of the rainfall volume, for her fighting spirit value was no longer so fierce; it had settled. This was good, for if her fighting spirit remained filled with killing intent, Qin Bi feared she would become restless and agitated.
Fighting spirit value primarily governs killing. Unless one possessed the fate and fortune of someone like Rong Juan, He Yan, or the Great Yan Emperor, it was best for fighting spirit value to remain calm; otherwise, it would overwhelm one's state of mind.
The state of mind was the greatest stumbling block on the path of cultivation.
In this life of transmigration and rebirth, the Half-Immortal Realm was, for Qin Bi, already unreachable unless her life hung in the balance. Mortal bodies cultivated physical strength and state of mind, as well as fortune and luck. A disturbed state of mind was a major obstacle to cultivation.
Rong Yang and Rong Chi did not need a mother like a dodder plant. Qin Bi did not wish to be weak and incapable. A sharp mind was far from enough. This was a fictional cultivation world where great cultivators of the immortal sects could summon wind and rain with a mere wave of their hands.
Therefore, this world had no need for petty cleverness.
Qin Bi took the summoning artifact and went to Rong Juan's study to find Rong Yang. "Rong Yang."
Rong Yang ran out. "Mother."
"Let us go farming," Qin Bi called to Rong Yang.
Rong Yang ran back into the study. Rong Juan, dressed in a black Young Master's robe, emerged holding the little milk bun, followed by Lin Yao and several advisors. Hearing that the Young Master's Wife intended to go farming, they all recalled the Chinese cabbages planted last year.
Rong Juan spoke. "Let us go to my fiefdom."
Qin Bi looked at Rong Yang in confusion. "Have you not yet planted your fields?"
"I have planted them," said Rong Yang, a small figure. "I have only planted twenty mu of wheat. This year's rainfall was scarce, and the fields are poor. I have only twenty mu of land; my younger brother has not a single field."
Qin Bi sighed. The fiefdom lacked even more rainfall. Fields opened this year would be useless next year, yielding very little. The people of the fiefdom would have a hard winter. Those with fiefdoms were at a loss regarding their fields.
Qin Bi said, "Let us go see."
Rong Juan then said, "Lin Yao, Guard Yan."
Lin Yao and Guard Yan immediately responded. Guard Yan took the teleportation array handed to him by the Young Master. Qin Bi hurried to fetch water and food. Taking children out was troublesome, but Qin Bi enjoyed taking Rong Yang.
Qin Bi also walked over to Rong Juan's side. The man was tall and handsome, making Qin Bi appear like a small bird leaning on him.
Qin Bi spoke to the little milk bun Rong Juan held. "You are a bit small; otherwise, I would have taken you farming too, giving you a tiny hoe. Alas, I have no desire to farm elsewhere. In our cultivation world, knowing how to farm is a skill."
Qin Bi was speechless at prioritizing farming above all else.
Rong Juan sensed the problem. He lowered his gaze and said to the child, "Listen to your mother's nonsense."
Qin Bi closed her mouth and stopped talking nonsense.
The cook had already prepared a pot of spicy duck heads, containing eleven duck heads, over twenty duck wings, plus duck intestines, duck livers, and spicy duck feet. A small portion was set aside; the rest was packed for Rong Yang to take.
Rong Chi fluttered excitedly. "Mine!"
Qin Bi coaxed him. "Farming is hard work; your elder brother must eat well."
The little milk bun clenched his tiny fists, his chubby cheeks full of dimples. "I will farm."
"Go play somewhere else," Qin Bi blurted out without thinking.
Rong Juan paused, startled. The little milk bun tilted his head. What?
Rong Juan composed his expression and pretended not to hear.
Rong Yang packed all the food and drink. He loved his younger brother but would not spoil him. Unless he believed the child was not Rong Juan's son, he would not consider himself the Young Master's son. Rong Yang would not allow himself to be wronged.
If his brother coaxed him, he might give half of the Yan Guogong Manor to his brother. But if his brother dared to become arrogant due to favor, Rong Yang would beat him. Judging by his mother's expression, she had long wanted to beat the little milk bun.
The little milk bun pouted, looking aggrieved.
Qin Bi leaned over. "Kiss me, or I won't play with you when we return."
The little milk bun kissed Qin Bi. "I am good."
"Very well," Qin Beamed. "I will play with you when we return. If only we could go to the small space in the Demon Beast Realm; your elder brother and I could catch a small spiritual beast for you. The fiefdom has nothing good."
"There are good things," Rong Juan reminded Qin Bi, handing her a small storage bag. "My fiefdom has a Spirit Plant Street where scattered cultivators gather. They sell spiritual fruits. You can buy some spiritual fruits for Rong Chi to bring back."
Qin Bi took the storage bag. The Little Prince ran over, panting heavily. "I want to go too."
Qin Bi looked at Rong Juan. The Little Prince was too precious; she dared not take him.
Eunuch Fu arrived shortly after. Rong Juan said, "Take him along."
The Little Prince possessed royal fortune. With him following, Rong Juan felt reassured. He was fated to lose his wife and have no children; he had only this wife and eldest son, plus the little milk bun in his arms. Rong Juan was truly uneasy.
Qin Bi thought Eunuch Fu would go too, but he did not.
Once Qin Bi, Rong Yang, the Little Prince, and the First Strategist Lin Yao all stood on the teleportation array, Guard Yan activated it. In an instant, the group arrived at Rong Juan's fiefdom.
Rong Yang led everyone to inspect his fertile fields. Twenty mu of land, the wheat seedlings were small and withered yellow, clearly lacking rain. Qin Bi took out a mid-grade rain-summoning artifact and handed it to Lin Yao.
"Lin Yao," Qin Bi said. "My fighting spirit value is stable now, so my summoning is ineffective. You summon rain for Rong Yang's fields."
Lin Yao took the rain-summoning artifact. As a mid-grade summoning artifact, summoning rain covering twenty mu was no problem. Qin Bi and Rong Yang were not in a hurry to leave. Lin Yao held a tea bowl and summoned the nearby rainfall.
Due to the scarce rainfall, it took a while for clouds to gather.
