Chapter 486: Luck
Qin Bi smiled at the words but did not answer.
Qin Bi had not forgotten that before her Rong Yuang recognized He Yan, He Yan had paved a smooth path for Qin He, making Qin He a fortunate daughter of a concubine in the Hou Fu in the eyes of the Great Yan Emperor.
Qin He marrying into the Xue Wang Fu as a daughter of a concubine showed she was fortunate.
The young prince returned from a trip to the palace and asked just this one question; Qin Bi did not want to answer. Whether Qin He had stolen luck was for the Great Yan Emperor and his ministers to guess; Qin Bi had no interest in clearing up doubts.
Besides, if she said Qin He had stolen luck, would the Great Yan Emperor and his ministers believe it?!
Qin Bi sneered; not necessarily!
"If Qin He stole your luck, Rong Rong Shizifei," the young prince observed Qin Bi's reaction and continued, "would you not care? Before you were married, no one in the Qin Yan Hou Fu paid you any attention, but since you married, don't you feel your luck is very good? Moreover, the mystic masters of the immortal sect cast your fortune, saying you would have no children this life. Yet after marriage, you have Rong Yuang and Rong Chi. Clearly, that fortune-telling was inaccurate. Have you considered that Qin He stole your luck? Her luck has been average these past six months, and Fu Bao's too; Fu Bao's fortune is not as good as before."
The young prince sighed with emotion. Before, whenever he and his imperial brothers obtained rare spiritual food, Fu Bao would immediately know through the two clouds of auspiciousness she swallowed, and they would surely get a good meal upon entering the palace.
The imperial princes and princesses gave He He Shizi face, treating Fu Bao like a younger sister; they would not hide good food from her. Now it was different; whenever the maternal grandparents of the imperial princes and princesses gave them good food, they hid it and did not let Fu Bao eat it.
So, the fortune value was clearly different.
Qin Bi glanced at the young prince, thinking about how to respond.
Qin Lang, having nothing to do at home, came to the Rong Wang Fu.
The young prince waited for Rong Rong Shizifei to speak when Qin Lang entered the room, bringing a chill with him.
"Sister," Qin Lang held an oil-paper package; no need to ask, it was definitely food. "Rong Yuang, Rong Chi, Young Prince."
Qin Bi smelled mushrooms and pork belly; it was very fragrant. She guessed it might be spiritual food small fire-roasted buns. Such buns were truly expensive; ordinary children in cultivation families could not afford them.
"Uncle!" the little milk bun's high-pitched voice rose.
It was so crisp, and the little milk bun's eyes were bright.
Whenever Uncle came, he got good food.
Qin Bi's mouth twitched. She would not coax people like that. Sweet-talking and coaxing; Rong Juan did not seem to have such a personality either. Who did he take after? Oh, Qin Lang. No wonder they got along so well and played together.
"Hey," Qin Lang was happy too.
The Qin Yan Hou Fu had just become a cultivation family with little foundation. Even if they wanted to buy good food for their young nephews, their ability was limited, yet the young nephews did not mind at all. Whatever he and Qin Tang and Qin Xun bought, the children ate very politely.
"Uncle," Rong Yuang stood up from the small stool, trotted over, and took the oil-paper bag from Qin Lang.
"Hey," Qin Lang handed the oil-paper bag to Rong Yuang. "I saw the small fire-roasted buns were ready when I came, so I bought one for you and one for Rong Chi. I also bought one for your mother."
Rong He Shizi doted on Qin Bi, and the people of the Qin Yan Hou Fu saw it. Qin Lang bought an extra brown sugar small fire-roasted bun for Qin Bi to eat. This time, the spiritual vegetables in the wilderness grew well; Qin Tan made a good profit and was in high spirits.
Although spiritual food small fire-roasted buns were very expensive, one could grit their teeth and buy a few for Rong Yuang and Rong Chi.
The value of things was not in their price; the maternal grandparents remembering Rong Yuang and Rong Chi was also a fortune, beneficial for children. In theory, the first-class hereditary noble young masters of the Wang Fu had fiefs; the maternal grandparents should have planned for them since they were young to prevent concubine-born children from seizing the young master's position.
In the Rong Wang Fu, there seemed to be no need for such worry.
In this world, the one who valued Rong Yuang and Rong Chi the most was Rong He Shizi. Rong He Shizi, with his bright clothes and angry horses, had a fate that killed wives and left him childless. Now Rong He Shizi had a wife and children; he protected them as if they were his own eyeballs. The status of Rong Yuang and Rong Chi was unshakable.
Rong Yuang took the oil-paper bag while the little milk bun, held by the young prince, bounced around. "Let me taste."
Qin Bi held back a smile and said, "Let him taste quickly. Our Rong Chi loves to taste whether spiritual food is good or not. These small fire-roasted buns must not be good. If they are not good, children should not eat them. I will eat them all."
The little milk bun froze. "They are delicious."
He had already tasted them.
Qin Lang was displeased, hugged Rong Chi, and said to Qin Bi, "Why are you teasing our little bun?"
The little milk bun did not distinguish between who was who and immediately acted spoiled to complain. "He won't let me eat."
Qin Lang took a small fire-roasted bun from the oil-paper bag and gave it to the little milk bun. "Even if I don't let anyone else eat, I will let you eat. Our Rong Chi is so well-behaved. Your mother is bad; she is deliberately teasing our Rong Chi."
The child got a small fire-roasted bun, then went to the young prince, held the bun to the young prince's mouth, and asked the young prince to eat the part without filling while he ate the part with filling. He was very cunning.
Rong Yuang gave Qin Bi a brown sugar small fire-roasted bun. "Mother, this is a brown sugar small fire-roasted bun."
Qin Bi said, "Let me have a bite too."
Rong Yuang held the bun and ate. The children, having spiritual food small fire-roasted buns to eat, immediately quieted down. Qin Lang sat by the stove, took a roasted sweet potato from the stove, and spoke with Qin Bi.
"Qin He grew nothing in the wilderness," Qin Lang peeled the sweet potato. "Before, she kept clamoring that she planted spiritual vegetables to share with everyone. I thought she could really grow spiritual vegetables."
The young prince brought up luck again. "Perhaps Qin He stole the Hou Fu's luck."
Qin Lang's movement paused; he stopped peeling the sweet potato, blinked, and looked at Qin Bi.
It was not impossible.
"No," Qin Bi smiled, very certain. "Qin He does not have the ability. Even if she could steal luck, it would be useless in the Qin Yan Hou Fu. She cannot steal it."
The young prince did not understand. "Why do you say that?"
Qin Lang also asked, "Why can she not steal it?"
Qin Bi sneered lightly. "Let alone while I am alive; even if I were dead, Qin He could not move the Qin Yan Hou Fu's luck. Some luck has people it must protect; others cannot touch it."
At this point, Qin Bi's eyes suddenly moistened, and she could not hold back her emotions, bursting into tears.
"Sister," Qin Lang hurried closer. "What is wrong?"
The young prince immediately handed the little milk bun to Rong Yuang and ran quickly to call Rong He Shizi.
Qin Bi cried until her eyes were full of tears. "Qin Lang..."
"Sister," Qin Lang was anxious and heartbroken. "What is wrong?"
Qin Bi cried loudly. "Once, the Qin Yan Hou Fu's luck did not protect our Hou Fu. It did not protect us. I do not know when, but I know our Hou Fu's luck was about to explode, and it did not protect us."
Rong Juan and the young prince arrived. Entering the room and hearing Qin Bi's words, the man froze.
He had been reborn for several lives. In two of those lives, the Qin Yan Hou Fu had chosen the wrong side. Qin Bi must be referring to those two lives.
Rong Juan went over, hugged Qin Bi, and said, "It is alright. Do not cry."
Qin Bi could actually sense the Hou Fu's luck.
