Chapter 87: High Combat Energy Points
Qin Yan and the others were full of confusion, utterly bewildered.
I didn't see clearly just now; what on earth happened?!
Rong Juan, though young, knew that some immortal arts weren't used this way—just a wave and flowers and grass sprouted, without even using a summoning magic treasure. Where was the magic treasure? Where was it hidden?
Staring at the table-sized flowers and grass, the group fell into deep thought and confusion.
"Sister." Qin Lang flashed a flattering smile like a little spirit beast, his brow gently furrowed with surprise and doubt. Qin Lang looked up hopefully and asked, "What spell technique did you use?"
Seeing her cousin's interest, Qin Bi smiled lightly: "I didn't use any spell technique."
"You didn't use any spell technique?" Qin Yan was stunned.
"But you didn't use a magic treasure either!" Qin Lang couldn't figure it out. Without a summoning magic treasure and without a spell technique, how could flowers and grass appear out of thin air? Qin Lang's heart suddenly jumped, and he exclaimed joyfully, "Amazing."
Qin Yan's heart skipped a beat; he squatted down, dug into the soil, and grabbed a handful to examine.
"You really didn't use a summoning magic treasure?" Qin Yan didn't believe it.
In Great Yan, even people from immortal sects mostly relied on summoning magic treasures to conjure rain or snow. There were great masters who didn't need them, but Qin Yan had never seen one, and Qin Bi had only just begun her cultivation.
"Mother," Rong Juan asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Qin Bi turned to look at her child and smiled, saying, "No."
Qin Yan handed the soil he had grabbed to Qin Xun. Qin Xun rubbed it between his fingers; the soil nearby was dry, but the soil where the flowers and grass grew was moist, clearly suitable for planting. The soil in Qin Yan's courtyard hadn't been like this at first.
So, what immortal art did Qin Bi use?
"What immortal art did you use?" Qin Xun asked directly.
Qin Bi didn't answer. Some things were better understood only by herself. Since soil sprouting flowers and grass was strange enough, she might as well scare everyone a bit. Qin Bi flicked her sleeve and gently brushed over the flowers and grass.
Qin Bi was pregnant, so her brushing hand was very light, but her eyes narrowed slightly.
Looking again at the flowers and grass on the ground, they shifted several times and transformed into spirit plants.
Qin Bi watched and smiled. Good, she could do it.
Qin Yan's pupils contracted; Qin Xun was stunned.
Qin Lang: "......Oh my goodness!"
Rong Juan's mouth hung wide open, her black, round eyes fixed unblinkingly on the flowers and grass. Then she looked at Qin Bi with a face full of admiration. Joy sparkled in the child's eyes, mixed with some incredulity.
"Heavens above!" Qin Lang exclaimed, "This is truly amazing."
Qin Yan came to his senses and asked Qin Bi urgently, "How did you do it? Did you use spiritual power?"
Qin Bi hesitated, then asked instead, "If I say I used combat energy points, would you believe me, cousin?"
He didn't believe it, but Qin Yan was excited inside. This cultivation world had various cultivation methods; he had never seen Qin Bi's kind before, but being able to sprout flowers and grass without a summoning magic treasure was already impressive.
Don't look at just this small patch of land; it was enough to make Qin Yan excited.
Qin Bi hadn't known this spell before. That thought flashed through Qin Yan's mind. Realizing this was an immortal art unknown to the immortal sects, Qin Yan glanced around cautiously. The maids and servants were not nearby.
"Don't tell anyone about this spell," Qin Yan instructed Qin Bi.
Qin Yan didn't even know that the Qin Yan Hou Fu had such a cultivation genius among them, buried for so many years. It couldn't be mentioned; mentioning it would bring regret. If resources had been piled on her since childhood, wouldn't the Qin Yan Hou Fu be an extraordinary cultivation family?
Especially Qin Bi's combat energy points; even a Green-grade cultivator would be no match.
In this cultivation world, combat energy points were innate, surpassing postnatal cultivation. What were combat energy points? They meant slaughtering all around, instantly killing opponents of the same level, and crushing those with higher cultivation ranks.
No one knew exactly how many combat energy points Qin Bi had, but they were definitely not weak.
Qin Bi smiled and nodded, "Alright."
Actually, she didn't mind if others knew about her gentle and soothing spell.
Looking at Qin Bi again, Qin Yan's expression changed. Qin Xun was mostly excited inside. Qin Lang and Rong Juan were simpler; both were cheerful and very interested in the spirit plants on the ground.
Qin Bi had startled the heir apparent Qin Yan. She told Rong Juan, "Dig up the spirit plants."
"Okay!" Rong Juan, who loved money, found a small shovel to dig up the spirit plants.
Qin Yan's mouth twitched, but he didn't stop them. Qin Lang helped dig, pulling all the spirit plants from the soil. Rong Juan and Qin Bi only wanted the spirit plants, not the soil, since anything planted there would grow anyway.
This patch of soil had already been improved; its quality could now grow spirit plants.
Qin Lang held the spirit plants, Qin Xun carried Rong Juan, and Qin Bi prepared to leave with them.
After walking a few steps, Qin Lang turned back and said to Qin Yan, "Cousin, I'll come back later to dig up a pot of soil."
Qin Yan: "......"
Qin Xun realized it belatedly and said, "I'll come dig some too."
In Great Yan, having a patch of soil capable of growing spirit plants was rare.
Qin Yan: "......"
Qin Yan was annoyed and ignored them, but Qin Lang and Qin Xun took it as permission.
"Cousin Uncle..." Rong Juan spoke in a milky voice.
"Come dig then!" Qin Yan said.
Rong Juan was delighted. Carried by Qin Xun, she followed Qin Bi away.
Qin Yan went to find Qin Yan Hou and the old Qin Yan Hou, telling them about Qin Bi's high combat energy points, and the immortal art that could improve a small patch of soil with a single light wave, turning ordinary plants into spirit plants.
Qin Yan Hou remained silent for a long time, regretting that he hadn't discovered Qin Bi's high combat energy points earlier.
"It's no wonder our Qin Yan Hou Fu fell into decline," the old Qin Yan Hou sighed, saying, "Such a promising seedling of combat energy points was born in our family, yet the entire Hou Fu failed to notice."
She was already married off. With Rong He Shizi paving the way for Qin Bi, there was little the Qin Yan Hou Fu could do.
In the courtyard of the First Branch of the Hou Fu, Qin Bi returned with Rong Juan. She placed the spirit plants in the Fourth Branch. Why didn't she go back? If Qin Bi didn't return, Qin He would think she was afraid.
The women stayed together, having nothing much to do, just chatting about amusing stories.
Qin He calmed down considerably and left soon after. Rong Juan played with the children and heard about the fight between the guards of the two families. The child was furious; the people around Qin He and Fu Bao belonged to He He Shizi.
Rong Juan, having learned from Rong Juan to remain outwardly calm, played for a while, then Qin Bi returned to the Fourth Branch with He Shi.
Qin Bi gave each of He Shi, Jiang Shi, and the others one spirit plant. Taking Rong Juan back, Qin Xun boarded the carriage with them, and Qin Lang also accompanied them all the way to Qin Bi's home.
Back at the Prince's Mansion, Rong Juan ran to find Rong Juan to relay the message.
Rong Juan's expression was grim; he returned to his room and asked Qin Bi, "Are you feeling unwell?"
"No," Qin Bi said, smiling, knowing the man cared about the child. "I have a handle on things."
Rong Juan sent someone to the palace to summon the Imperial Physician. Qin Bi extended her hand for him to take her pulse. There was nothing wrong; her constitution was strong. To put it plainly, if not for the infuriating engagement to He Yan, her lifespan would not have been compromised at all.
Only then did Rong Juan feel relieved. He tapped his fingers on the table, pondering how to deal with the Xue Wang Fu.
Qin Bi saw through this and said to Rong Juan, "Qin He comes from the Qin Yan Hou Fu. Matters concerning the Qin Yan Hou Fu are best resolved by me myself."
