Chapter 140: Wu Na Seeks Help

~11 min read 2,170 words

In the following period of time, the entire Heaven Lion Tribe was placed on lockdown due to the recent abnormalities discovered. The people living in the tribe also continued their normal lives peacefully, eating and sleeping as usual every day.

If one had to point out any difference, it would be that fewer people were moving about in the tribe, and the male beastmen of each household basically reported to their assigned posts on time each day as arranged by the chief.

Of course, this 'each household's male beastmen' naturally includes Ba Ke Er and Mo De and others who are responsible for external scouting!

Today, Fei Er, as usual, got up, dressed, washed up, and was about to head out when he again pushed a small cart from the miscellaneous room into the storage room, loading it with plenty of grain until the cart was full, then he pushed the cart, closed the door, and walked step by step toward Zhang Fan's home.

As soon as Fei Er arrived outside Zhang Fan's courtyard gate, he put down the cart and ran over to knock on the door.

At that moment inside the house, Zhang Fan had just finished preparing breakfast for himself and Fei Er, set it on the main hall table, and then heard the knocking outside.

Zhang Fan, without a second thought, put down his utensils and hurried over to open the door.

As the courtyard gate opened, Zhang Fan saw Fei Er pushing a small cart fully loaded. Seeing Fei Er before him, Zhang Fan gave a helpless smile, rolled his eyes, and bluntly spoke out his guess.

"Fei Er, you really can eat! Today you've made up your mind to snack all day at my place?"

Unexpectedly, upon hearing his words, Fei Er not only felt no embarrassment, but instead laughed and pushed Zhang Fan together into the courtyard.

After Zhang Fan closed the courtyard gate, Fei Er again pulled Zhang Fan to the main hall; upon entering, Fei Er did not, as usual, fix his gaze on the food on the table.

Zhang Fan saw that Fei Er was clearly salivating over the delicious food, yet he was still feigning calm as he took out the items from the cart he had pushed over, one by one.

Zhang Fan watched as Fei Er took out the items from the cart one by one, and gradually realized. It turned out he had misunderstood Fei Er; he was not bringing snacks at all!

This guy, damn it, is practically moving house! He's just short of bringing his sleeping quarters along. Looking at this huge pile of food, all of it raw! Zhang Fan couldn't help wondering what Fei Er was up to.

Fei Er watched Zhang Fan, from the moment he pulled out the first item, begin staring fixedly at his own backpack, now wearing a puzzled expression, and couldn't help the smug smile on his face.

Hahaha, it turns out that even Fan Fan, such a clever female, can have moments of confusion! Now I can finally show off a bit in front of him.

Thinking of this, Fei Er laughed even more gleefully, losing all restraint, and even burst out laughing.

Fei Er suddenly laughed out loud, almost scaring Zhang Fan to death. After patting his own chest, Zhang Fan, still shaken, cautiously reached out to touch Fei Er's head.

After finding nothing wrong, Zhang Fan finally relaxed. Rolling his eyes, he then said to Fei Er in an annoyed tone:

"I don't think you're sick; why did you suddenly go crazy?"

Regarding Zhang Fan's comment, Fei Er paid no attention, casually waved his hand, and answered with a smile:

"Fan Fan, just don't be so sensitive, okay? I'm perfectly normal, okay! I haven't gone crazy at all!"

Seeing this, Zhang Fan didn't continue the topic, but shifted the conversation to ask about the food in the backpack.

Fei Er, seeing Zhang Fan bring up the matter himself, smiled even more happily. He smiled at Zhang Fan and said:

"Well, Fan Fan, I haven't eaten a lot of your food before, have I? Although you said you wouldn't keep track, I still felt I should bring my own food. These are what I brought today to repay the food from the past few days."

Having said that, Fei Er could no longer resist the temptation of the food; he pulled Zhang Fan to the table, and as soon as they sat down, Fei Er, without being called by Zhang Fan, began to take the biscuits Zhang Fan had placed on the table, wrap them with roasted meat, and started wolfing them down.

While eating, he still added: "However, I also know this food isn't enough, so I plan to bring more this afternoon. Oh! Right! From now on, every meal I eat at your place will be prepared in advance."

Zhang Fan watched Fei Er, who even while speaking couldn't stop stuffing food into his mouth, gave a helpless smile, and said:

"Fei Er, with our relationship, do you really need to bring your own food for every meal? Besides, since you can come to my house to eat, I can also go to yours to eat!"

Having said that, Zhang Fan also picked up his utensils and began eating breakfast together with Fei Er.

However, because Fei Er's mind was made up, despite Zhang Fan's many attempts to dissuade him, he still couldn't get Fei Er to abandon this idea. Zhang Fan could do nothing about it, so he merely nodded in agreement.

Fei Er, seeing Zhang Fan nod, ate even more happily. In just a few bites, he finished his own portion completely.

Zhang Fan saw that Fei Er had already finished his breakfast, yet he didn't leave the table; without needing to think much, he knew Fei Er surely wasn't full. So Zhang Fan shared some of his own breakfast with Fei Er.

After Zhang Fan and Fei Er finished breakfast, they began sorting the food Fei Er had brought, separating the meat and vegetables that needed to be eaten soon and putting them in the kitchen to prepare today's lunch.

The foods that were easy to store and relatively durable, such as rice, flour, and vermicelli, were moved into the storage room. After finishing these tasks, Zhang Fan and Fei Er finally took a break.

However, before they had rested long, a knocking sounded again outside the door. Zhang Fan and Fei Er exchanged a glance, both thinking in dismay: 'No way! Who could it be this early in the morning? Not staying properly at home, coming to knock on what door?!'

However, after the knocking continued three times, Fei Er chose to ignore the sound. Pretending nothing was wrong, he continued to slump limp on the recliner in the courtyard to rest.

Although Zhang Fan also wanted to act like Fei Er, pretending not to hear the sound and ignoring it, he suddenly realized this was his own home, where he was the master, while Fei Er was a guest—there's no reason to have a guest open the door.

Although he often had Fei Er help him open the door, seeing how exhausted Fei Er now was, Zhang Fan thought it over and still struggled to his feet, walked over, and opened the door.

What he didn't expect was that the person outside turned out to be Wu Na, his and Ba Ke Er's former neighbor.

What shocked him even more was that Wu Na now came over with a big belly! He didn't know what had happened to her; her appearance looked like she was about to collapse.

At this moment, Wu Na's face was paler than before, and she was much thinner; she seemed utterly weak, leaning on the wall with her hand, her whole body almost resting on the courtyard gate.

Faced with this sight, Zhang Fan had never even imagined it before, and could clearly say that this damn thing was the first time he had seen a (pseudo) female (male) person with a big belly!

Besides being shocked that Wu Na could have a child so quickly, Zhang Fan was even more stunned by her current physique, which simply couldn't be compared to before; he didn't know why she had lost so much weight so fast.

After the shock, Zhang Fan still invited Wu Na into the courtyard, led her to sit on the recliner beside Fei Er, and then busied himself preparing tea and snacks for her.

However, when Zhang Fan saw Wu Na eat a piece of dried meat and vomit it out less than half a minute later, he too lost his composure.

Even someone without common sense could see Wu Na's symptoms—this damn thing is clearly typical morning sickness! But this damn thing isn't a physiological reaction of female pregnancy? On this planet, females actually experience this too?

Zhang Fan even couldn't help but sigh to heaven in his heart, 'Damn this troublesome primitive planet, can it ever get better?!' But just thinking that only females should get pregnant, while he certainly isn't a female!

I'm damn well a 24k gold-plated pure man! I definitely won't end up miserable like Wu Na! However, Zhang Fan at this moment doesn't realize that in the near future he too will undergo a lengthy pregnancy.

And his own reaction could be many times more severe than Wu Na's!

And at this moment he was actually rejoicing that his body had directly transmigrated here, rather than a soul transmigration with many uncertain factors!

When Fei Er saw Zhang Fan leading the big-bellied Wu Na in, his whole body froze! Especially seeing him walk over and sit on the recliner beside him, he stared without blinking.

He wished he could press his whole body against it and freely rub that round belly. In fact, he actually did so.

However, he only did so after obtaining Wu Na's consent. Fei Er had long wanted to have a child with Mo De, but despite being partners for over three years, nothing had happened.

Now seeing that Wu Na, who had only been partnered for a little over a season, already fortunately had a child, made Fei Er envy her immensely! So, to share in the good fortune, Fei Er insistently clung to the idea of sitting on the same recliner as Wu Na.

In fact, Wu Na came to Zhang Fan's home today also to ask him for advice on cooking.

It's not for any other reason; it's to cure her severe morning sickness that has made her barely able to eat. Everyone knows Zhang Fan is the best cook among all females in the Heaven Lion Tribe.

When Zhang Fan saw Wu Na vomit from eating the dried meat, he was genuinely startled—could she not even eat meat? No wonder she'd lost weight so quickly! Thinking this, Zhang Fan realized he still hadn't asked Wu Na why she had come.

However, upon hearing Wu Na say that her own morning sickness was so severe that she vomited whatever she ate, leaving her with no choice, she had come to him for advice; Zhang Fan couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth.

"What the hell is all this?! I'm not a doctor—what advice can I give?!' So Zhang Fan also bluntly voiced his thoughts, and besides suggested Wu Na go talk to Wei Er and Di Er.

But what he didn't expect was that Una actually said a little embarrassedly: "I actually went to look for them earlier, but they both suggested I come find you to ask for your help. So that's why I came over so early to bother you."

Upon hearing Una's words, Zhang Fan found himself speechless toward the two elders, Wei Er and Di Er.

Having no choice, Zhang Fan finally had to tell Una some of the common knowledge he'd learned on Earth, suggesting he try eating something sour or spicy to whet his appetite.

Of course, he still didn't forget to tell Una clearly that he couldn't guarantee this method would work; he merely suggested she give it a try.

Upon hearing that, Una of course took it to heart. After returning home, she took out a few pieces of pickled cabbage, washed and chopped them, then directly tossed them into the pot to stir-fry.

But what he didn't expect was that this method really worked remarkably well! After eating pickled cabbage for a day, Una didn't vomit even once! This made Ji Lie overjoyed.

Although his partner was pregnant and he was still happy—after all, he would soon have his own offspring—seeing his beloved Una vomiting nonstop from pregnancy truly made his heart ache.

But even though he felt sorry, there was nothing he could do; he could only watch helplessly as his partner grew thinner day by day. But now, thanks to Zhang Fan's help, his beloved can actually eat normally! That's truly something to celebrate.
