Chapter 22: The Unlucky Demon General

High in the sky.

A Taiyi Golden Immortal Great Monster, leading a group of Great Monsters under his command, flew rapidly in a mighty, imposing manner.

The Taiyi Golden Immortal Demon Race member in the lead wore a smile, looking immensely proud.

This was because he had just been appointed as a Demon General and now commanded tens of thousands of Demon Soldiers; he had come here this time to inspect his jurisdiction.

However, what made him somewhat dissatisfied was that the area he had been assigned seemed extremely barren; he had been flying here for a long time and hadn't even seen a single Earth Immortal, which left him very puzzled.

Just at this moment—

"Whoosh!"

Houtu leaped into the air, arriving in the vicinity of that group of Demon Race members in an instant.

With a wave of her hand—

"Rumble..."

The stone mountain she had previously used to crush many Demon beasts suddenly flew up through the air again, and under her guidance, it smashed at high speed toward the large number of Demon Race members appearing ahead! "What is going on?!"

"How did a large mountain suddenly appear?"

"Who is so presumptuous, daring to attack us?"

"Not good, block it!"

Facing Houtu's attack, that group of Demon Race members was clearly caught off guard.

However, they quickly scrambled to activate their spells and magic treasures, all attempting to intercept the stone mountain that had come tearing through the air.

But to their horror, that stone mountain, which looked quite ordinary, showed no signs of slowing down at all under the obstruction of their various spells and magic treasures, continuing to crush toward them rapidly!

Seeing this scene, even the leading Taiyi Golden Immortal was stunned by Houtu's aggressive offensive and could not react for a moment.

It was not until the stone mountain was right before his eyes that the Taiyi Golden Immortal suddenly snapped out of it and immediately shouted, "A bunch of trash, watch me!"

Before his voice had even faded, he transformed into his original form; he was entirely crimson and shaped like a duck, yet he possessed nine heads and looked extremely ferocious.

Seeing him in this state, Houtu immediately recognized him as being of the Guiche clan.

After revealing his Guiche original form, the Taiyi Golden Immortal rushed forward, actually attempting to block the stone mountain directly with his massive physical body.

However, although a Taiyi Golden Immortal possesses great strength, there was still a terrifying gap compared to Houtu, an Ancestral Witch.

Moreover, he had never expected that this place, which appeared to have nothing unusual, would actually hide an Ancestral Witch.

Therefore, he had not even used his full strength at this moment.

As a result, he was sent flying away without any suspense, blood spraying wildly from his mouth!

"General!"

The surrounding Demon Soldiers exclaimed in shock, their faces filled with astonishment.

The Taiyi Golden Immortal himself was also dumbfounded, unable to imagine who could be attacking him, to the point of being able to severely injure him with just an ordinary stone mountain!

In this fleeting moment, Houtu had already rushed in front of the Taiyi Golden Immortal, and with a beckon of her hand, brilliant divine light radiated from her palm.

The Taiyi Golden Immortal was terrified and secretly cried out that it was bad, hurriedly trying to resist, but it was already too late.

A flash of Law Divine Light appeared on Houtu's hand, and an earthy-yellow beam of light instantly struck the Taiyi Golden Immortal; a powerful force immediately restrained him, making it impossible for him to break free.

Houtu looked at him coldly and extended a finger, pointing it at the Taiyi Golden Immortal.

The next second, the Taiyi Golden Immortal's originally ferocious complexion turned deathly pale, and the Demon power on his body withered instantly, as if all his spiritual energy had been drained away. Watching the suddenly miserable-looking Taiyi Golden Immortal, Houtu could not help but shake her head.

She had thought this little Demon might have some ability, but it turned out he was not able to take a beating at all! The barely supporting Taiyi Golden Immortal saw Houtu's cold, contemptuous gaze and was filled with extreme terror. He knew that he had likely encountered real trouble this time.

Meanwhile, the other Demon Race members were also filled with fear as they watched this scene, scattering in all directions.

But Houtu did not give them that chance.

With a wave of her hand, streaks of earthy-yellow divine light shot toward those Demon Race members, instantly capturing them all and binding them tightly.

At this moment, a satisfied smile appeared on Houtu's face, clearly pleased with her own performance.

Just then, Houtu suddenly sensed something and turned to look in Lu Yun's direction.

She saw that the spiritual energy around Lu Yun had become even denser in an instant, and it was churning and surging continuously.

Without a doubt, he was already preparing to break through to the next realm.

Seeing this, Houtu could not help but frown slightly, feeling amazed once again at Lu Yun's cultivation speed.

Curling the corner of her mouth, Houtu flicked her sleeves, fixing all the Demon Race members—who were now trussed up like chickens—onto that stone mountain, then turned and flew back to Lu Yun's cultivation spot.

After returning there, she saw that Lu Yun was surrounded by specks of starlight, his aura immensely powerful; he had already completely surpassed the late stage of Refining Void into Dao and was charging toward the Tribulation Transcendence Becoming Immortal realm.

Seeing this situation, Houtu could not help but laugh.

"This guy actually really intends to cultivate to become an Immortal in one go!"

In just one day, he had cultivated from Refining Spirit into Void to Tribulation Transcendence Becoming Immortal.

Houtu had to sigh: the person Sister Nuwa chose was truly not chosen wrongly! However, while such a cultivation speed was naturally a good thing for Lu Yun, for Houtu, it meant she would have to spend even longer acting as his protector.

For a moment, Houtu was speechless.

Fortunately, she had already suppressed all possible threats, so she did not need to worry too much about any problems occurring during Lu Yun's breakthrough.

With that, she could continue roasting meat in peace while waiting for Lu Yun to finish his cultivation.

"It can just serve as repaying the favor of him roasting meat for me." Houtu smiled and took out new ingredients to continue roasting.

As for Lu Yun, he was already immersed in the cultivation of Star Transformation and had no idea that the environment he was in had undergone such changes.

The activated Enlightenment Halo allowed him to solve all cultivation problems; he resolved them instantly, and it was only a matter of time before he could step into the next realm.

And Lu Yun did not make Houtu wait too long.

After less than half an hour, Lu Yun had successfully broken through and stepped into the fourth stage of "Star Transformation".

However, a change occurred again at this moment.

Originally, he should have stepped into the Planet Stage, but his state now corresponded to the Great Desolation realm, which should have been Tribulation Transcendence Becoming Immortal; therefore, instead of condensing a planet in his dantian, he suddenly felt that his Immortal Ascension Tribulation was about to arrive! This was the cultivation technique adapting to the rules of the current world, resulting in an unexpected change! Sensing this information, Lu Yun was both surprised and delighted.

What he was happy about was that as long as he succeeded in his Tribulation Transcendence Stage, he could shed his mortal coil and become an immortal, which could be considered a massive transformation.

What he was alarmed by was that he had been completely caught off guard by this Immortal Ascension Tribulation, so he was entirely unprepared and felt incomparably panicked inside.

Fortunately, the Immortal Ascension Tribulation would not descend immediately, and he still had time to prepare.

Furthermore, the duration of the Enlightenment Halo had ended at this moment, so Lu Yun decisively concluded his cultivation.

He opened his eyes, but the scene that met his gaze made him suddenly widen his eyes.
