Chapter 459
Whether back when she was still a man or now, Ning Chu had always been the type to slack off the most during PE class.
Everyone else would gather to play basketball or soccer. If nothing else, they’d at least team up with friends to play mobile games. But she was so lazy that she couldn’t even be bothered to move a finger.
That afternoon only had one long PE period. Ning Chu chatted with Lily and Yan Xinya, wandered around the campus, and basically coasted through the class. While they were at it, they even set up plans to go to a hot spring during the May Day holiday.
After circling the track twice and finishing a cup of milk tea, they returned to the field just in time to hear the PE teacher calling out.
“Line up for roll call! Get ready to dismiss!”
Ning Chu let out a lifeless sigh.
If it weren’t for this roll call before dismissal, she would have already left school early and gone back to her rental apartment to play games.
She jogged over to join the crowd, but her gaze drifted toward another class assembling not far away.
Even during lineup, Qing Qing stayed on the outermost edge of the crowd. She had no friends around her—always alone.
Wen Yang finally found the petite girl and moved to Ning Chu’s side.
“That one.”
He followed the direction of Ning Chu’s finger. “Oh~ what about her?”
A not-so-familiar classmate nearby muttered quietly, “Isn’t that the freak from Class Four?”
Someone else chimed in, “Who? What freak?”
“I heard that down there she—”
Ning Chu lightly kicked the classmate’s calf. When he turned around in confusion, she smiled sweetly, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
“Wow, such a big strong guy, gossiping behind someone’s back. Real impressive~”
“Huh? I was just saying it casually…”
“Tch!”
She frowned, clearly annoyed.
Rumors had also started circulating in her class that she was a succubus—all because of people making wild guesses! Even though it was technically true, she still had to deny it to the death…
With a pair of sheep-like horns on her head and none of the typical traits of a normal sheep-girl, anyone would naturally associate her with a succubus. Fortunately, she hadn’t heard anything too excessive yet.
Wen Yang looked down at her in surprise and asked, puzzled, “Since when did you start caring about this kind of thing?”
Hearing the teacher call her name, Ning Chu raised her hand in response. Then she pulled Wen Yang out of the crowd, walking side by side toward the exit of the field.
Only then did she quietly explain, “It just… makes me uncomfortable.”
Wen Yang immediately saw through her thoughts. He glanced at the distant, lonely Qing Qing and smiled gently.
“Why do you always think everything is somehow your fault?”
“It’s not like that…” She hugged Wen Yang’s arm and muttered, “It’s just that seeing her like that… it feels like I’m seeing my past self.”
“That period when my body was becoming more and more like a girl… neither male nor female…”
Back then, Ning Chu would often sit blankly at her desk, withdrawn and silent, refusing to interact with her dormmates. The only time she showed any energy was when some heroine tried to flirt with Wen Yang.
Thinking back to how Ning Chu used to be, Wen Yang felt a pang of heartache and gently rubbed her head. “That’s all in the past. Aren’t things pretty good now?”
The warm hand patting her head made Ning Chu comfortably squint her eyes. She couldn’t help slightly tilting her head upward, pressing against Wen Yang’s hand.
“Yeah. I figured it out a long time ago.”
After all, she had already fallen so completely into becoming female…
Using her complete feminization in exchange for healthy family members in a parallel world and a boyfriend who was considerate in every possible way...
Her current life wassomuch better than before she transmigrated~
The couple leaned closely against each other, walking side by side at an unhurried pace as they left the school gate.
“Tomorrow’s the weekend again. Where do you want to go have fun?”
“I want to—wait, no. We already agreed that Shaoqing and the others would celebrate your birthday for you again this weekend! Last time it was just the two of us, and you didn’t even accept their gifts!”
“Is that really necessary?” Wen Yang shook his head with a wry smile. “Why celebrate your birthday twice?”
“Well, at the very least we’ve gotta make Zhang Shaoqing give yousomething…”
Ning Chu’s mind was completely focused on scamming that thick-skinned bastard! Value didn’t matter— even a notebook worth a few yuan would do.
A black sedan suddenly roared past from the side of the sidewalk, startling her so badly she jumped.
“Are you insane?!”
She cursed instinctively and looked up, only to see the car stop not far ahead.
Wen Yang sighed helplessly. “Shaoqing’s car.”
“How do you know?”
“The license plate.”
Ning Chu froze for a second, unable to understand why Wen Yang would memorize license plates for no reason. Then she flew into a rage.
“That bastard did it on purpose to scare me!”
The car window rolled down, and an utterly shameless big head stuck out. He whistled flirtatiously and shouted back at them, “Get in!”
“What do you want?!” Ning Chu strode over with hands on her hips, angrily pointing at him.
“Is something wrong with your brain? Driving that fast at the school gate! What if you hit someone?!”
For a moment, her aura made Zhang Shaoqing feel like he was seeing his mom. He shrank back instinctively—then immediately toughened up again.
“There aren’t even that many people!”
It was only a little past four in the afternoon. Most students still had two long classes until six, so only a handful of people were scattered around the school gate.
“What if therewere?!”
“Alright, alright. Get in. We’re celebrating your little boyfriend’s birthday, remember that maid café I mentioned before? You in or not?”
“That’s it?”
“I’m paying!”
Ning Chu clicked her tongue. Seeing that Wen Yang had already opened the rear door, she reluctantly climbed in, grumbling, “If it weren’t for today being Wen Yang’s birthday…”
Holy crap! A maid café!
She’d only ever heard about those online!
Who knows if it’s even legit?!
Wang Jie, sitting in the front passenger seat, turned around and said to Wen Yang, “I sent your gift to your Steam account. Remember to claim it when you get back. It’s a new game, I’ve already cleared it, pretty fun.”
“Alright, thanks,” Wen Yang nodded. “I’ll grab it later.”
“Though your computer might not be able to run it—”
Zhang Shaoqing cut in, “—Then how about hitting an internet café later? That game has co-op, right? How long has it been since the bros last played together?”
“Since Wen Yang moved out?”
“That’s totally Ning Chu’s fault. She abducted our roommate, we can’t even get a full party anymore.”
Ning Chu rolled her eyes. “As if you guys could ever get a full party before.”
The back seat was spacious. She lazily leaned against Wen Yang’s shoulder and urged, “Shaoqing, where’s your gift? Wang Jie already gave his.”
“I’m driving, aren’t I?! I’ll give it when we get there, why are you in such a damn hurry?”
“Oh right, does Sister Qian Qian know you’re going to a maid café?” Ning Chu suddenly asked.
“I thought she’d come along too.”
Zhang Shaoqing’s grip on the steering wheel stiffened for a moment. Then he snorted.
“Why would I need to report to her where I’m going? Even if I told her, would that woman dare stop me?”
“Wen Yang! If you ask me, you just don’t have the same status at home as I do. Look at you, Ning Chu won’t even let you talk to other girls.”
“Now look atme! Even if I go clubbing, does Qian Qian dare say a word? Even if I go to a hostess club, she wouldn’t dare say a damn thing!”
Ning Chu crossed her legs and held up her phone.
“Go on. Keep talking. I’m recording.”
“Hey—hey! That maid café is totally legit, okay?! You’re actually recording?! Dad, Delete it, please~”
“Calling me ‘Dad’ won’t help~”
“Mom!”
