Chapter 127: Eliminating Shiwangbao

~7 min read 1,329 words

Perhaps it was fated that the four from Shiwangbao and the four led by Duan Fengyun would clash.

After a long journey, the four from Shiwangbao sat down at a roadside tea stall to drink tea and rest.

As luck would have it, Duan Fengyun and his three companions, also exhausted from their journey to Zhonghua Lou, were looking for a place to have a drink and rest as well.

Upon seeing the tea stall ahead, the four decided to order a pot of tea and take a break.

After arriving at the stall and sitting down with their backs to the four from Shiwangbao, they called out to the Boss:

"Boss, bring us a pot of tea."

The four from Shiwangbao behind them did not look up when they heard the call, each lost in their own thoughts.

Soon, the tea ordered by Duan Fengyun's group arrived, and after taking a sip, the four began to discuss matters.

Because they were sitting so close, some of their conversation inevitably reached the ears of the four from Shiwangbao.

When the words "Senior Wuming" reached the ears of the four from Shiwangbao, they all looked up and glanced at the people behind them.

Upon seeing their faces, the expressions of the four from Shiwangbao changed abruptly.

The four of them had previously collaborated with Xiongba, so they had met Duan Fengyun and his three martial brothers while at the World Martial Association.

The four could not help but exclaim:

"Can there really be such a coincidence in this world?

We hadn't even started looking for the four martial brothers, yet they delivered themselves to our doorstep."

The scheming four chose not to act immediately; they prepared to tail the group to see what their next move would be.

After drinking their tea and resting briefly, Duan Fengyun and his companions paid the bill and continued on their way.

Once they had left, the four from Shiwangbao hurriedly paid and set off in pursuit.

However, Duan Fengyun and his companions were no greenhorns fresh to the Jianghu; they had been through years of trials and tribulations.

Before long, the four sensed that someone was following them.

They remained calm on the surface, merely circulating their True Qi in secret.

In a flash, each of them launched an attack behind them, and Duan Fengyun spoke up:

"Why act so sneakily? Come out!"

Seeing that their tracks had been discovered, the four from Shiwangbao had no choice but to emerge from behind the trees.

Duan Fengyun and his companions did not recognize the four, so Duan Fengyun asked:

"You are unfamiliar faces; why are you sneaking around following us four brothers?"

Nanluan Zhuge replied:

"Greetings, Hero Duan, Hero Qin, Hero Nie, and Hero Bu.

We are from Shiwangbao. I am Nanluan Zhuge, this is our eldest brother Beiye Xiongshi, this is our third brother Xiling Xiaofo, and this is our fourth brother Dongyue Buqun.

We four simply wanted to make your acquaintance."

Nanluan Zhuge was clever; he only introduced their identities without revealing the purpose of their trip.

He believed that given the status of Duan Fengyun and his companions, they should not know who they were.

As expected, Nanluan Zhuge's guess was accurate; Nie Feng and the others were not familiar with the four from Shiwangbao, so they remained silent.

However, the moment Duan Fengyun heard the names of the four from Shiwangbao, he immediately realized that these four must have been sent by Di Shitian to find them.

Duan Fengyun was currently focused on reaching Zhonghua Lou as quickly as possible to find Wuming and see if there were other ways to deal with Di Shitian, so he did not want to waste time bickering with the four from Shiwangbao.

He mocked:

"Dongyue Buqun, Nanluan Zhuge, Xiling Xiaofo, and Beiye Xiongshi—the four masters of Shiwangbao—when did you become the lackeys of Di Shitian?"

Upon hearing that these four were actually lackeys of Di Shitian, Nie Feng and the others were instantly filled with murderous intent, drawing their weapons to prepare for battle.

Nanluan Zhuge and the others were stunned; they had not told anyone that they had been sent by Di Shitian to find Duan Fengyun's group.

Could it be that Di Shitian had leaked the news, intentionally letting them confront Duan Fengyun's group?

Seeing that their identity was exposed, Nanluan Zhuge stopped pretending and laughed:

"As expected of the resourceful Evil God, Hero Duan is indeed wise beyond measure.

To even know that we were sent by Di Shitian—I am impressed!"

Because he was separated from his wife and child and did not know when they would be reunited, Bu Jingyun was already furious; upon learning that the four before him were Di Shitian's lackeys, he only wanted to kill them immediately.

He raised the Peerless Sword with murderous intent, pointing it at the four from Shiwangbao, and said:

"Enough talk. Since you four are Di Shitian's lackeys, I cannot let you live."

With that, Bu Jingyun charged at the four from Shiwangbao with his sword.

Nie Feng and Qin Shuang, standing to the side, were about to step forward, but were stopped by Duan Fengyun.

He stopped them.

Duan Fengyun said:

"Because of his separation from Chuchu and Xiao Butian, Yun, who lost his parents at a young age, is in great pain and filled with hatred for Di Shitian.

Let Yun handle the four from Shiwangbao.

Let him vent the grief and hatred in his heart; I believe he can defeat these four."

Duan Fengyun knew that in the original story, Bu Jingyun had easily defeated the four from Shiwangbao single-handedly.

The current Bu Jingyun was far more powerful than in the original story, so Duan Fengyun had full confidence in him.

Conversely, the four from Shiwangbao were enraged that Bu Jingyun had come for them alone and that Duan Fengyun had prevented Nie Feng and Qin Shuang from intervening.

If they couldn't handle the mysterious Di Shitian, could they not even handle a single Bu Jingyun?

To teach Bu Jingyun a lesson, the four brought out their respective ultimate arts and engaged him in battle.

Bu Jingyun was filled with killing intent toward the four men, opening immediately with a lethal move—the Ten Cloud Swords.

The flowing, cloud-like sword moves left the four men of Beiye Xiongshi overwhelmed, making it impossible for them to parry.

The four were forced into a corner by the sharp Sword Qi, their faces filled with disbelief; they could not believe that the four of them were actually no match for Bu Jingyun.

The four once again used their combined ultimate technique—the Chuantong Divine Pulse—as the True Qi of Dongyue, Nanluan, and Xiling was once again infused into the body of Beiye Xiongshi.

Beiye Xiongshi's body was once again enveloped by lightning, and his fists were covered in bursts of electric light.

Before launching his attack, Beiye Xiongshi roared again:

"Bu Jingyun, let you taste the ultimate technique of us four brothers, die!"

"Boastful!"

Bu Jingyun mocked.

Bu Jingyun held his sword with both hands and, with a single horizontal slash that simplified the complex, struck directly at Beiye Xiongshi.

The Electric Fist, which had gathered the power of all four men, was broken by Bu Jingyun's strike before it could even be unleashed.

Beiye Xiongshi, unable to dodge in time, was struck directly in the face by this blow; he breathed his last without even having time to utter a final word.

"Big Brother!"

The remaining three, Dong, Nan, and Xi, cried out in pain.

Before the three could finish speaking, their lives were taken one after another by the relentless sword strikes of Bu Jingyun.

Thus ended the short lives of the four masters of Shiwangbao, who had been forced to seek out Duan Fengyun and his companions.
