Chapter 36: Seeing Youruo
While Qin Shuang was still searching painstakingly, Duan Fengyun finally arrived at Sword Casting Villa.
Upon arriving outside Sword Casting Villa, Duan Fengyun felt as if something terrifying was being born within the villa; this must have been caused by the Peerless Sword.
Duan Fengyun walked to the main entrance, but the guards watching the gate blocked his path.
"Sword Casting Villa is not receiving any guests recently, please return, sir."
The guard said to Duan Fengyun.
Duan Fengyun did not wish to waste words with them and told them directly to go report his arrival.
"Go tell your master that I, Duan Fengyun, have arrived."
Upon hearing Duan Fengyun's words, the sword in the guard's hand dropped straight to the ground. A person's name is like the shadow of a tree; this group had long heard of how Duan Fengyun had single-handedly wiped out entire families, and now that this star of slaughter had arrived at their doorstep, how could they not be afraid?
The guard dared not delay and ran straight into the courtyard, stammering as he reported:
"Reporting to the mistress, outside there is... there is an honored guest asking to see you."
Lady Ao asked with a scowl: "Who is it that has scared you like this?"
The guard replied: "Mistress, it is Duan Fengyun who has come."
Lady Ao said in surprise: "What? Why has this star of slaughter come?"
Lady Ao thought for a moment and said to the guard: "Go and invite Hall Master Duan in for me."
After receiving the master's reply, the guard hurried to the main gate to welcome Duan Fengyun in.
As Duan Fengyun walked into the courtyard, a woman dressed in black gauze and wearing a black mask walked toward him.
The guard introduced her to Duan Fengyun: "Hall Master Duan, this is our Villa Master's wife."
Duan Fengyun cupped his hands and said: "Duan Fengyun greets Lady Ao."
Lady Ao replied: "Hall Master Duan, no need for such formalities. May I ask what business brings Hall Master Duan to my Sword Casting Villa?"
Duan Fengyun replied: "Mistress, I am no longer the Hall Master Duan of the World Martial Arts Association, please do not address me as such. My purpose in visiting your villa this time is mainly to ask your villa to help me recast the Fire Scale Sword."
Having said this, Duan Fengyun opened his luggage and took out the Fire Scale Sword, which was broken into several pieces.
Seeing this scene, Lady Ao could not help but be greatly shocked. This indestructible Fire Scale Sword had actually been broken like this; what kind of cultivation or peerless divine weapon would it take to achieve this?
Lady Ao shook her head and said to Duan Fengyun: "Hero Duan, my Sword Casting Villa has now sealed the villa and the furnaces; we no longer receive outsiders or cast swords, so I ask for Young Master Duan's understanding."
Seeing this, Duan Fengyun found it difficult to press the matter further; it seemed that in this situation, he would only be able to come to Sword Casting Villa when the Peerless Sword was brought into the world.
So, he bid farewell to Lady Ao and left.
Walking out of Sword Casting Villa, he found himself with nowhere to go for a moment. Just as he was at his wit's end, he thought of Youruo.
He had promised Youruo that he would visit her often, but he had always broken his word. This time, he would sneak around the vicinity of the World Martial Arts Association to see if there was a chance to slip inside.
No sooner said than done, he put his luggage on his back and began to hurry toward the direction of the World Martial Arts Association.
Arriving at the World Martial Arts Association, Duan Fengyun saw the heavily guarded Mountain Gate and could not help but shake his head. This group of people could not stop him, but the sounds of fighting would surely spread inside, and by then he would not be able to leave even if he wanted to. Seeing that forcing his way in was not an option, he could only think of other methods.
Suddenly, he remembered that Youruo liked to go to the nunnery next to the World Martial Arts Association to burn incense and worship Buddha, so he would just go to the nunnery and wait for Youruo there.
But when he arrived at the nunnery, he was rebuffed again. He knocked on the gate of the nunnery, only to be shouted away by the nun who opened it.
The nun pressed her palms together and said to him: "Benefactor, this is a forbidden land of the Buddha; this temple does not receive male benefactors, please return, benefactor."
Duan Fengyun could not help but curse inwardly. Why was he hitting walls everywhere today? If it weren't for the fear of being discovered, he would have burned down this nunnery today.
But he only thought about it in his heart; in reality, he still left the nunnery timidly and respectfully.
Seeing that he could not go in to wait for Youruo, he had no choice but to run to a large tree nearby to hide, quietly waiting for Youruo's arrival.
Heaven rewards the diligent; after waiting on the tree for an hour, Duan Fengyun finally waited for Youruo.
At this moment, Youruo was carrying a basket in her hand, walking slowly toward the nunnery.
Duan Fengyun observed behind Youruo and found that no one was following her, so he prepared to climb down from the tree to meet her. However, feeling mischievous, he decided to give Youruo a scare.
He took a mask out of his luggage and covered his face, waiting for Youruo to walk under the tree.
Just as Youruo was carrying her basket and walking slowly toward the tree, Duan Fengyun saw his chance and leaped down from the tree.
Jumping down from the tree, he adjusted his voice and said evilly to Youruo: "This mountain was opened by me, this tree was planted by me; if you want to pass this road, leave behind your toll money."
Youruo looked at this ignorant road bandit before her and asked with a smile: "You fellow, don't you know this is the territory of the World Martial Arts Association? You dare to rob me? Do you know who I am?"
Duan Fengyun said playfully: "I don't care who you are; anyway, if you don't give me money today, I'll carry you home to be my mountain-bandit wife."
Seeing the little thief before her being so frivolous, Youruo was greatly angered. Without saying another word to this road bandit, she moved to attack him directly.
But how could she be a match for Duan Fengyun? In two or three moves, she was captured by him.
Duan Fengyun touched her cheek and said lecherously: "Little beauty, come home with me; we'll enter the bridal chamber tonight."
Captured, Youruo was full of unwillingness and threatened him directly: "I am the daughter of Xiongba, the leader of the World Martial Arts Association. If you dare to touch me, believe it or not, my father will wipe out your entire family."
Duan Fengyun laughed loudly: "You are Xiongba's daughter? That's perfect. Once we get things done tonight and the raw rice is cooked into porridge, let's see if Xiongba acknowledges me as his son-in-law."
Seeing that the situation was not right, Youruo began to shout and scream. Sensing that things were going wrong, Duan Fengyun hurriedly covered Youruo's mouth and explained: "Youruo, stop shouting, it's me. If you keep shouting and bring your father here, I'll be finished."
Youruo stopped shouting and looked at the person before her in confusion; why did this voice sound so familiar?
Seeing this, Duan Fengyun pulled off his mask and looked at Youruo with a grin.
Youruo looked at the grinning Duan Fengyun before her, angrily clenched her fists, and struck at him.
But while her fists were still in mid-air, Youruo threw herself onto Duan Fengyun and cried: "You wretch, you finally decided to come see me."
Duan Fengyun could not help but feel a headache; women really were made of water. If he didn't go to see her, she would cry; if he did come to see her, she would also cry. It was truly difficult to handle.
Before he transmigrated, Duan Fengyun was a shut-in; having never experienced the feelings between a man and a woman, he still knew too little about such fickle creatures as women.
He held Youruo in his arms and laughed: "Stop crying, my young miss, if you cry any more, you'll attract your father here."
Youruo stopped crying and looked at the man before her. Her expression changed in an instant, and she smiled at Duan Fengyun: "Let's go, accompany this young miss for a stroll; be a good boy and be a beast of burden for me."
A large cloud immediately appeared over Duan Fengyun's head; he was going to be a human coat rack again.
