Chapter 43: The Fool and the World: Beginning and End
"Fool card?"
Looking at the familiar image on the face-up tarot card before him, Klein suddenly felt a toothache.
How is it this card again?
I really do have an affinity with this tarot card!
He silently complained to himself, suppressed the strange feeling welling up inside, and under the gaze of the customer opposite him, Klein flipped over another tarot card.
On this tarot card was depicted a large wreath of green plants, and standing in the middle of the wreath was a voluptuous woman.
World card!
"This"
"How coincidental?"
This thought came to mind, and Klein momentarily spaced out, even feeling as if fate had ordained it.
However, although he was surprised inside, Klein's expression remained calm and leisurely, his voice carrying a hint of magnetism as he said: "The Fool card is the 0th of the twenty-two Major Arcana tarot cards, representing the beginning, full of all possibilities at the very start."
"And the World card corresponds exactly to the Fool card, representing the end, symbolizing completeness and sublimation."
"This means that your journey, Mr. Luo De, will surely have a beginning and an end, and you will be able to achieve your goal."
The slightly magnetic voice kept echoing, reverberating inside the room.
As a diviner, Klein naturally had the tarot symbols and metaphors at his fingertips.
Especially after taking the true diviner's potion, Klein found he could easily grasp anything related to divination, as if it had become second nature.
Therefore, although he had only recently taken the diviner's potion, his proficiency with various divination tools was no less than that of veterans who had immersed themselves for years; he figured fooling ordinary people posed no problem.
On the other side, while Feng Yi appeared to be listening seriously to Klein's interpretation, his attention was not on his words.
Looking at the two different tarot cards on the table, his spiritual sense twitched, and deep in his eyes illusory trigrams flowed, as if he had grasped something.
The Fool card, namely the 0th card of the tarot, represents the beginning of everything.
At the same time, this title also represents the pinnacle of the diviner's sequence, and is closely related to that Secret Master, or Heavenly Venerable.
From a certain perspective, this card can even represent that Heavenly Venerable!
And the World card, namely the last card of the tarot, represents the end of everything, foretelling completeness and sublimation.
However, the World card also represents the Earth Pathway; it is the peak of the Earth Pathway, an alternative name for the Mother of Sequence 0.
As for the mother, she naturally represents the yin force of the entire universe, and is inseparable from that Fallen Mother Goddess.
"Truly, it's the guidance of fate."
This thought came to mind, and Feng Yi couldn't help but sigh.
At this point, Klein had also finished explaining the meanings of the Fool and World cards, then smiled and said: "Mr. Luo De, I still need an absolutely quiet environment and some time to confirm that the meanings of these two tarot cards are correct; could you please step out and wait a moment?"
"Are you going to use the abilities of a true diviner to confirm? What a dedicated diviner! But this isn't something you can just casually divine!"
After glancing at Klein, Feng Yi showed a faint smile, didn't refuse, and softly said: "Sure."
Having said that, Feng Yi turned, opened the wooden door, and walked out.
Sipping the tea prepared by the female receptionist, he casually glanced around the divination club; after a moment, Feng Yi, sensing something, looked toward the room where Klein was.
The next moment, the door opened and Klein's figure appeared.
Walking into the room, seeing Klein's somewhat unnatural expression, Feng Yi's lips twitched up as he thought: "Zhou Mingrui, this is also a reminder from my fellow townsman: don't casually divine things of unknown origin on the Source Fortress, or you'll really die!"
His thoughts turned, but Feng Yi's expression didn't change much; he softly said: "Mr. Moretti, have you confirmed the result of this divination?"
"Hmm."
He instinctively nodded, Klein forcibly suppressed his slightly unnatural expression to look as before, then said: "Mr. Luo De, fate will guide you to complete this journey perfectly; perhaps soon you will achieve your purpose and find what you need."
"Is that so?"
Feng Yi nodded, smiling: "I understand, thank you for confirming, Mr. Moretti—you're truly an excellent diviner."
"You just believed that?"
Klein's words that he hadn't spoken yet were swallowed back into his throat.
Although he had used genuine divination to confirm it, he also knew ordinary people wouldn't so easily believe his obviously persuasive talk.
Klein had prepared a whole set of seemingly professional lines to bluff the other party, but he hadn't expected this customer to completely ignore the routine and just believe him outright.
"He's really just a client who came for psychological comfort!"
This thought came to mind, but thinking back to the situation during that divination, Klein's heart couldn't help but stir with a hint of confusion.
"Mr. Moretti, I don't know if I may take these two tarot cards; I think they might bring me good luck."
As Klein's thoughts turned, a voice suddenly sounded in his ear, bringing him back to his senses instantly.
"This is the property of the divination club; I have no authority over it."
This thought instinctively rose in his mind; Klein was about to refuse when his gaze was caught by a gleaming gold object.
"Since it's the guidance of fate, you can naturally take it; this is also Mr. Luo De's acknowledgment of me as a diviner!"
This is Klein's sincere words, absolutely not because of the cute gold coin in the client's hand.
"Thank you, Mr. Moretti—you are a true diviner!"
He placed the gold coin in his hand on the table, and Feng Yi casually picked up the two tarot cards depicting different figures.
After rubbing the two tarot cards, he put them into his pocket, and Feng Yi, without lingering further, directly bid farewell to Mr. Fool.
Klein remained calm and composed until the customer left, then quickly snatched the gold coin from the table.
Looking at the gleaming gold object in his hand, Klein couldn't help but feel a sense of emotion.
If every client were as generous as Mr. Luo De, that would be great!
Thinking of this, the memory of the subtle anomaly he had sensed during his own divination surfaced, and Klein again fell into contemplation.
"Perhaps Mr. Luo De has come into contact with something extraordinary, and its level might not be low—should I call the police? No, this is an extraordinary event; I should report it to the captain?"
As Klein's thoughts turned, he didn't notice that the gold coin in his hand faintly emitted some kind of qi, continually merging into his body.
Outside the Divination Club.
He walked to a secluded corner, Feng Yi stretched out a hand, and two different tarot cards appeared before him: one showed the Fool with a figure walking a dog, the other showed the World with a voluptuous woman.
Beginning. End
Heavenly Sovereign. Mother Goddess
A whisper sounded, Feng Yi's heart stirred, he pointed at his brow, and a somewhat illusory tarot card appeared before him.
This is a tarot card that does not exist among the twenty-two Major Arcana cards; the image on it looks like a mere random smear, with no definite shape, giving a feeling of inexplicable Chaos.
'Chaos' card!
