Chapter 109: A Former Alliance, a Daimyo

~5 min read 943 words

Uchiha Jin sneered outright, giving Hiruzen Sarutobi not an ounce of respect.

This point was easy to understand.

This wasn’t when Uchiha Jin first rose as the radical faction’s leader—he now firmly controlled the Uchiha base and had drawn in major clans from across Konoha, even including Tsunade, Kakashi Hatake, and Might Guy.

Under this new situation, there was no need to abide by the old rules anymore—he now had the authority to write them.

So.

A mere Hiruzen Sarutobi? Even his sarcasm was too mild.

With the power he held, had he not wished to control Konoha without bloodshed, he would have already launched war.

Of course.

He shared Hiruzen Sarutobi’s view: the more one ascends to power, the less one truly wants war, for war is always the worst option.

The highest form of warfare is to outwit the enemy; next is to break their alliances; next is to defeat their armies; the lowest is to besiege their cities.

This simple truth, as a transmigrator, he understood better than anyone.

“Uchiha Jin, stop talking nonsense!”

“Your so-called New Konoha is an outright provocation against the entire village.”

“I advise Itachi to abandon splitting the village and acknowledge Jiraiya’s position as Hokage—otherwise, we’ll be forced into open war!”

Hiruzen Sarutobi’s tone was icy.

He didn’t care about Uchiha Jin’s mockery—he’d been Hokage for decades, his face thicker than a city wall.

He cared only for interests; pride meant nothing.

Therefore.

He had no interest wasting time on trivialities—he cut straight to his core demand.

Abandon the split of Konoha. Acknowledge Jiraiya as Hokage.

But, unfortunately.

Since Uchiha Jin had dared to create New Konoha, he’d already prepared every angle—and he calmly rejected Hiruzen Sarutobi’s demand.

“Hiruzen Sarutobi, Itachi’re mistaken.”

“When Konoha was founded, a promise was made: every clan could leave at any time.”

“Given the special circumstances between the Uchiha and the village, after decades of failed integration, we naturally choose not to integrate—we withdraw. Isn’t that better for everyone?”

“The Uchiha’s withdrawal complies with the original alliance.”

“Itachi’ve been Hokage for so long—surely Itachi don’t even know this most basic agreement?”

“If so, Itachi’re truly unfit for the role.”

“As for the other clans? That’s just coincidence.”

“They also felt uncomfortable staying in Konoha, so they voluntarily withdrew—this has nothing to do with the Uchiha.”

“After discussing it, we all decided that since we were leaving anyway, why not form a new ninja village?”

“So we reported this to the Daimyo, who gladly supported us and offered financial and material aid—our village establishment followed all proper procedures.”

“Whether under Konoha’s exit terms or the Land of Fire’s laws, my actions are fully justified.”

“Lastly, I remind Itachi:”

“Though we currently remain within Konoha, we have the Daimyo’s approval—we have the right to stay here until New Konoha’s new location is built.”

“Once the Daimyo approves our new village site and construction is complete, we will relocate there.”

“If Itachi now seek war with us, it won’t be an internal dispute—it’ll be Konoha’s invasion of New Konoha, and we have every right to defend ourselves.”

“Furthermore, regarding Konoha’s aggression, we will demand the Daimyo’s judgment—and I suspect your invasion lacks the Land of Fire Daimyo’s authorization, correct?”

“When the Daimyo cuts your funding or imposes other penalties, don’t say I didn’t warn Itachi.”

Uchiha Jin spoke calmly.

He always acted after careful planning—having decided to create New Konoha, he ensured every legal and procedural detail was flawless.

Of course.

Only Uchiha Jin could pull this off—the old Uchiha never had the capability.

This is a world ruled by strength: even if the Uchiha had once sought the Daimyo’s protection, Konoha could have wiped them out on the road before they even reached the Daimyo’s palace.

At that point, even if the Daimyo was angry, he wouldn’t bother waging a feud over a dead Uchiha clan.

Uchiha Jin was utterly different.

First, he himself was a Mangekyo user—he’d recruited Fugaku, another Mangekyo user, forged the entire Uchiha clan into a single force, and won over countless major and minor clans.

His strength and influence were sufficient—he had no fear of Konoha turning hostile, which gave him the right to play this game.

Because the first rule of power play is to use absolute hard power to force the enemy onto the negotiation table.

The old Uchiha never had this capability.

After speaking,

he pulled out the Daimyo’s authorization document and tossed it directly to Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Meanwhile,

Hiruzen Sarutobi stared at the Daimyo’s authorization document—and his heart sank instantly.

Fuck.

Knowing the Daimyo’s office well, he recognized the document as genuine.

But now things were complicated.

Because Uchiha Jin was right: when Konoha was founded, Hashirama Senju had publicly promised every clan the right to leave.

But as the village grew, the Hokage’s power expanded while the clans’ rights were crushed—so the original agreement was thrown in the trash.

After all, without power, an agreement is just paper.

If Hiruzen Sarutobi wished, he could instantly invent countless reasons to nullify the pact and eliminate them.

The victor claims everything.

Now?

Uchiha Jin’s strength was right there—he had the power to uphold that pact.

This was a problem.

Hiruzen Sarutobi’s mind raced, yet he found no counterargument—his current power made violent resolution impossible.

Meanwhile,

Jiraiya, after reading the Daimyo’s authorization, felt his heart plummet.

He couldn’t help asking: “Old man, is this real?”

“Did Konoha really have such an alliance when it was founded?”

Clearly,

he was too young when born—he didn’t even remember Tobirama Senju.

So this alliance from Hashirama Senju’s era? Someone born after Konoha’s founding had no way of knowing.
