Chapter 61: Danzō Strategically Retreats, Kakashi Contemplates His Escape Route!

Might Guy, reporting!

At this moment, his eyes were as sharp as a wolf’s, blue steam rising from his entire body, the aura he unleashed causing everyone present to turn pale.

Seeing this, Kakashi immediately spoke: “Guy, go back.”

“This has nothing to do with Itachi. Itachi don’t need to get involved.”

This was his own revenge; even if he failed and died, he accepted it.

But Might Guy was different!

He couldn’t drag him into this.

And yet, for this—

Might Guy simply raised his thumb and spoke without hesitation.

“My father told me, the Eight Gates Release is opened only to protect!”

“Kakashi is my most important friend—I’ll protect him even if I lose my life. If I die this way, at least I’ll leave behind proof that I lived as a man.”

“The proud azure beast of Konoha—burn, youth!”

Kakashi was utterly exhausted.

Looking at the Might Guy before him, his eyes softened slightly.

Once, he thought his life was a tragedy—everyone who mattered to him was dead. Now, looking back, he realized one friend still remained.

A friend willing to defy the village’s high command just to stand by him!

And on the other side—

All Root members instinctively turned to Danzō.

Danzō, however, narrowed his eyes and spoke without hesitation: “Kill them. Move!”

Almost instantly—

Upon Danzō’s command, the Root members sprang into action.

They understood nothing of “protection” or “bonds.” Danzō’s orders were their supreme law; they charged at the two without hesitation.

“Konoha’s Mighty Cyclone!”

“Konoha’s Great Cyclone!”

“The Prelude to Youth’s Power!”

With the Seventh Gate unlocked, Might Guy was terrifyingly strong.

Any jutsu or technique the Root members attempted—before they could even form hand seals—was shattered by Might Guy’s single kick.

Yet—

Might Guy still held back!

Even though Danzō had ordered “Kill them,” Might Guy still saw them as comrades. All he wanted now was to rescue his dear friend Kakashi—he had no intention of truly killing these “village” allies.

But, unfortunately—

The Root members clearly didn’t appreciate it.

Even grievously wounded, they struggled to rise again.

Crawling through pain, they aimed their kunai straight at Kakashi’s throat as he lay helpless on the ground.

Might Guy, enraged!

As the Root member was about to stab Kakashi to death, Might Guy finally abandoned the notion of “comrades in the village” and kicked the man to death without mercy.

Then—

In barely ten seconds, he slaughtered over a dozen Root members, even causing Danzō’s heart to bleed.

Fuck.

Uchiha Jin had nearly wiped out the Root members already, and now this idiot Might Guy had killed so many of the men I just brought back from outside!

So, he moved.

“Summoning Jutsu: Yomotsu-shikome!”

A summon resembling an elephant appeared. With a deep, rumbling trumpet, its trunk generated immense suction, and its massive hoof lifted high—clearly intending to crush Might Guy beneath its weight.

“Day Tiger!”

A powerful air cannon shaped like a tiger formed, carrying overwhelming force that utterly reduced the Yomotsu-shikome to a mist of blood.

Yes!

The Yomotsu-shikome didn’t even have time to end the summoning—it was obliterated by Might Guy’s punch.

“What? Damn it!”

“How the hell is Might Guy this strong?”

“….”

Danzō was stunned.

As a Konoha elder, he had of course heard of the name of this brute of a taijutsu specialist.

But in reality—

He had never taken him seriously. Yet now, the power this man unleashed left him deeply shaken.

Undoubtedly, Kage-level.

Why the hell is Might Guy this strong?

Even Hashirama Senju here wouldn’t stand a chance against this kid, would he?

All Root members present were dead, killed by Might Guy. He then lifted the weakened Kakashi onto his back and headed toward the village.

Watching Might Guy, exhausted after closing the Eight Gates but still carrying him, Kakashi’s gaze grew profoundly complex.

To be honest—he truly wanted to die.

He felt life was meaningless; that was the real reason behind his actions tonight.

In short—

He simply wanted to die.

Killing Danzō would be best; if he failed, it didn’t matter.

But now, things were different.

Might Guy’s appearance shattered his thoughts.

Even if he didn’t care for himself, he had to protect this dear friend before him.

Tonight’s attack on Danzō had severed them completely from Konoha’s high command.

Who in Konoha could protect them now?

On one hand, Jiraiya and Tsunade were not in the village; even if they were, Kakashi wouldn’t trust them—past events proved they weren’t worth betting on.

The Senju clan, Kinshiki, Katō Dan, even his own teacher Minato Namikaze…

None of them had saved anyone!

With Might Guy’s life at stake—and knowing this fool was naive—he absolutely couldn’t risk it.

Other ninja clans?

They could barely protect themselves, let alone shelter two of them.

The only option Kakashi could think of was the Uchiha clan!

“Guy, don’t take me home.”

“Why?” Might Guy looked bewildered.

Kakashi paused briefly, then said solemnly: “Only the Uchiha can possibly save us both now.”

“But…” Might Guy tried to speak.

After all, he wasn’t truly an idiot—Kakashi clearly didn’t trust the village.

To be honest—

He had planned to bring Kakashi home, then report directly to the Hokage.

Kakashi’s words naturally left him conflicted.

But before he could finish, Kakashi cut him off.

“Kai, trust me!”

“Fine.”

Might Guy sighed.

Though still reluctant inside, he ultimately chose to believe his closest friend.

And so…

The two headed straight for the Uchiha district!
