Chapter 564: Wang Da Dong
"But you tricked me," Dugu Lang said, his face dark, his gaze as cold as ice: "Tricking me demands a corresponding price."
Seeing Zhong Wanjun, gritting his teeth against the agony, clenched his fists and asked: "What exactly do you want?"
"Hah."
Dugu Lang let out a scornful laugh, walked over to Seeing Zhong Wanjun with his wine cup, and patted him: "I'm not going to do anything—just wanted to tell you: there's no such thing as a free meal. I kept your miserable life so that Wang Da Dong and the others would take the bait."
Seeing Zhong Wanjun tried to force himself up, but his injuries were too severe; his body refused to obey. After struggling for a long time, he still could not move.
"Save your strength," Dugu Lang said, as if he had seen right through Seeing Zhong Wanjun's thoughts: "Bring him over. Let him see."
Soon, a burly man dragged Lei Ting, her face exhausted, into the factory and dumped her in front of Seeing Zhong Wanjun.
Lei Ting, seeing Seeing Zhong Wanjun, hurried over to support him and asked anxiously: "Wan Jun, why did they find you too?"
Dugu Lang watched them with amusement, finished his wine, and said indifferently: "He wasn't captured by me—he chose to exchange himself for you."
Lei Ting bit her lip and said: "Seeing Zhong Wanjun, why are you so foolish?"
Seeing Zhong Wanjun looked at Lei Ting and said seriously: "I said I would protect you—I will keep that promise."
Lei Ting's eyes turned red, her heart filled with mixed emotions; she lowered her head and no longer looked at Seeing Zhong Wanjun.
Dugu Lang watched the two and sighed: "How touching. But I despise this kind of emotion."
"Those who claim to dislike it probably have some unforgettable story," Dugu Lang said—and then a calm, detached voice echoed throughout the factory.
Dugu Lang jolted violently, a flicker of wariness crossing his face; he turned toward the entrance.
Seeing the speaker's face, he narrowed his eyes and frowned: "Wang Da Dong? That's impossible—you're not Wang Da Dong. Your aura is wrong."
Lei Ting, at first mistaking him for Wang Da Dong, quickly realized the truth and her face filled with panic.
Then, the man stepped slowly into the factory, a strange smile on his lips, walking steadily to stand before Dugu Lang, his eyes cold as he stared at him.
Dugu Lang exhaled slowly and asked in a low voice: "Who are you? How dare you impersonate Wang Da Dong?"
ZACK looked at him calmly and said: "What do you mean 'impersonate'? Don't you know what a spatial-temporal avatar is?"
Dugu Lang's brow tightened further; he asked seriously: "Spatial-temporal avatar? Which timeline are you from? What do you want?"
"Where I'm from doesn't matter," ZACK smiled lightly: "I'm here just to talk to you."
"Talk?" Dugu Lang's eyes gleamed: "How?"
ZACK said calmly: "You open the Xukongda Sect for me. I'll eliminate Wang Da Dong and the others for you."
Dugu Lang drew a deep breath and said coldly: "Why would you think I'd agree? Or what could I possibly gain?"
ZACK smiled: "Isn't killing Wang Da Dong and the others enough?"
