Chapter 350: Spiritual Bonds, The Truth Emerges

~7 min read 1,222 words

Xuanwu Island is wreathed in clouds and mist, as if isolated from the outside world as a pure land. Ling Bo carefully carries the unconscious Mo Yun, advancing along a hidden path toward the depths of the island. A phantom of Xuanwu flickers around the two, shielding them from potential pursuers.

"Finally safe." Ling Bo lets out a long breath and gently places Mo Yun onto a flat stone platform.

The island-protecting array on Xuanwu Island has been fully activated; even experts from the Mysterious Organization would find it difficult to break in easily. Ling Bo looks at the mark on Mo Yun's arm; the blue light has grown faint, but it is still flickering rhythmically.

"I must hurry." Ling Bo mutters to herself, quickly walking toward the most secret location on the island—the Qiyun Mishì.

The Qiyun Mishì is located at the center of Xuanwu Island, guarded by seven special Energy Arrays. This is a place where Ling Bo's parents often brought her when she was a child, though she did not understand its significance back then.

"Now I finally know why they wanted me to remember everything here." Ling Bo stands before the chamber door, her palm gently stroking the patterns on the door leaf.

As her Qi Luck Power is infused, the door slowly opens. The interior of the chamber is small; in the center is a circular stone platform, and the surrounding walls are covered in peculiar Runes. Ling Bo takes out the scroll left by her parents and carefully unfolds it on the stone platform.

A wondrous change occurs immediately. The originally blurred text on the scroll gradually becomes clear under the nourishment of the special Spirit Qi of Xuanwu Island. Those Runes flicker with a faint light, guiding the way like stars.

"Mind Bond..." Ling Bo softly reads the title that has emerged on the scroll, "Is this a special cultivation method?"

The phantom of Xuanwu solidifies behind her: "That is correct; this was prepared specifically for you by the Ancient Guardians. The reason you are the last awakened Child of Luck is precisely because your power requires a specific moment to exert its maximum effect."

Ling Bo reads the content of the scroll carefully and gradually understands what is special about this cultivation method called "Mind Bond." It is not a technique used to enhance one's own strength, but a special ability capable of connecting different Qi Luck powers.

"So that's how it is," Ling Bo realizes, "My mission is not to be a warrior, but to be a medium."

Xuanwu nods: "The Ancient Guardians foresaw today's situation long ago. They knew that the Qi Luck Power would be dispersed and that someone would be needed to reconnect them."

According to the scroll's guidance, Ling Bo needs to meditate at three special nodes on Xuanwu Island to form a small-scale Qi Luck circuit before she can initially master this ability.

"These nodes..." Ling Bo ponders for a moment, "They must be the places my parents took me to when I was a child!"

Xuanwu looks at her approvingly: "Your memory is excellent; this will greatly shorten the cultivation time."

Ling Bo does not delay and immediately begins her cultivation. The first node is located inside a stone pavilion on the island's highest peak, from where one can overlook the entire Xuanwu Island; the second node is beside an ancient well in the east of the island, the water of which is clear to the bottom, yet its depth is unknown; the third node is under a thousand-year-old tree in the west of the island, its trunk coiled like a crouching giant dragon.

At each location, Ling Bo sits in meditation according to the posture shown on the scroll, sensing the special energy contained within the nodes. The three nodes form a triangle, perfectly enclosing the Core area of Xuanwu Island.

When Ling Bo finishes her meditation at the third node, a wondrous change occurs. She feels her consciousness instantly transcend the limitations of physical space, as if she can overlook the entire world. In this peculiar state, she sees the Houxuanzhe in different places, as if they were right before her eyes.

"This is the power of the Mind Bond..." Ling Bo marvels at this unprecedented experience.

Through this connection, Ling Bo clearly sees the Qiyun Zhipi within each Houxuanzhe. They are like shattered gemstones, each piece flickering with a unique light. What shocks her even more is that each fragment bears a certain "mark"; these marks look different, yet they have an inherent connection.

"Wait!" Ling Bo suddenly realizes, "If these marks are combined..."

In her consciousness space, these marks automatically combine like a jigsaw puzzle, eventually forming a complete pattern. This pattern is extremely complex, containing elements of both extraterrestrial civilization and Diqiu civilization, as if it were a perfect fusion of two civilizations.

"This is the complete Fourth Qi Luck Power!" Ling Bo realizes with a start, "These fragments were not dispersed by Nature, but were artificially severed and implanted into different hosts!"

Just as Ling Bo is exploring this discovery in depth, a powerful and unfamiliar consciousness suddenly intrudes into her sensory range. This consciousness is like a tentacle in the darkness, attempting to sever her connection with the Houxuanzhe.

"Danger!" Xuanwu's warning sounds in her mind.

In an instant, Ling Bo feels a sharp pain, as if someone has forcibly torn her consciousness apart. Fortunately, Xuanwu acts in time, pulling her consciousness back into her physical body.

"Hoo..." Ling Bo gasps for air, her forehead covered in cold sweat, "What was that?"

Xuanwu's expression is grave: "The extraterrestrial civilization has already sensed your actions. Through the Mind Bond, not only can you sense the Houxuanzhe, but the extraterrestrial civilization can also sense you."

Ling Bo wipes away her sweat, organizing the information she just obtained: "I have understood one important thing. The Fourth Child of Luck is not an independently existing individual, but needs to be 'aggregated' through some special method. The fragments within these Houxuanzhe are all parts of the complete Qi Luck Power."

"Correct." Xuanwu nods, "The Ancient Guardians foresaw that the extraterrestrial civilization would seek and control the Fourth Child of Luck, so they acted first, dispersing the complete Qi Luck Power into multiple hosts. Only when the time is ripe can these powers be re-aggregated."

Ling Bo quickly contacts Lin Xuan and Li Yan, informing them of her findings. The three hold an emergency consultation through their Guardian Spirit Beasts.

"The situation is more complex than we imagined." Lin Xuan says, "If all the Houxuanzhe are merely parts of a puzzle, then the true goal should be to find a way to re-aggregate them."

Li Yan raises a more pressing question: "But the Mysterious Organization has already begun hunting the Houxuanzhe. Chen Ye was almost captured by them, and Zheng Xuan and Liu Yang on my side have also been attacked."

Ling Bo's heart sinks: "I tried to use the Bond Ability to sense again; the Qiyun Zhipi of several Houxuanzhe have already disappeared! The Mysterious Organization is collecting these fragments!"

"What do they want to do?" Lin Xuan asks urgently.

"Not sure," Ling Bo replies, "but if they gather enough fragments, they might very well attempt to reassemble the Fourth Qi Luck Power themselves, or..."
