Chapter 590: Past Lives and Present, the Awakening of Taichu

However, the destructive magic of the Hun Dun Demon God was too terrifying; even Cihang Xianzi's Immortal arts could only barely delay the inevitable. As the power of destruction continued to accumulate within the Demon God's body, the entire sky began to show terrifying cracks, as if it would collapse completely at any moment.

"Everyone, evacuate immediately! If you don't leave now, it will be too late!" Taixuan Laozu shouted urgently, though he knew in his heart that faced with this level of destruction, there was simply nowhere to run.

Zhang Wuji gripped the Long Sword in his hand, his eyes resolute: "Since we cannot escape, then we shall fight until the very last moment!"

The other cultivators also expressed their agreement one after another; they would rather die on the battlefield than live in ignoble survival.

Just at this desperate moment, the Taiji Pattern behind Xiao Yuan and Lin Xuan suddenly underwent a violent transformation. The steadily rotating Taiji Diagram began to tremble crazily, and the Yin and Yang energies surged like wild horses breaking free from their reins.

"This... what is happening?" Lin Xuan felt the abnormality of the power within his body, his heart filled with astonishment. He discovered that his Taiji Evolution Technique was operating uncontrollably, and the way it was running was completely different from usual, as if some ancient memory were guiding the operation of the technique.

Xiao Yuan's situation was extremely similar; her Purifying World Technique also began to operate autonomously, and a powerful force she had never felt before surged within her. Even stranger, she always felt that everything before her was familiar, as if she had experienced the same scene a very, very long time ago.

"Lin Xuan..." Xiao Yuan tremblingly reached out her hand, wanting to touch the person beside her.

"Xiao Yuan..." Lin Xuan also reached out his hand involuntarily, his fingers interlocking with hers.

The moment their hands touched, a brilliant light erupted from them. This light was neither Immortal light nor demonic light, but a more ancient, more pure light of origin.

Under the illumination of this light, their consciousnesses began to merge uncontrollably. They could feel each other's heartbeats, feel each other's thoughts, and even see the most secret memories deep within each other's souls.

Suddenly, the ancient memories sealed deep within their bloodlines surged out like a bursting dam.

Countless images flashed through their minds: the chaotic world of the Taichu period, the newly born sun, moon, and stars, and... two figures wearing magnificent Immortal robes standing hand-in-hand in the Void, overlooking the newly born world.

"Taichu... Immortal Lord..." Xiao Yuan said the name tremblingly, inexplicable tears welling up in her eyes.

"Purifying... Immortal Fairy..." Lin Xuan also felt a huge tremor in his heart, as if he had recovered something important that had been lost for a long time.

As the memories continued to emerge, the two finally understood everything. It turned out that during the Taichu period, when the world was first created, they were a pair of Immortal lovers who governed the balance of heaven and earth. Immortal Lord Taichu held authority over the changes of Yin and Yang, while Immortal Fairy Purifying World governed the purification of all things; the two joined forces to maintain the stability of the nascent world.

However, an evil existence was also born in the chaos of that time—the first generation Hun Dun Demon God. This Demon God attempted to drag the newly formed world back into a state of chaos, and thus a great war concerning the survival of heaven and earth broke out.

In the end, Immortal Lord Taichu and Immortal Fairy Purifying World joined forces to unleash the power of the Taichu origin, successfully sealing the first generation Hun Dun Demon God. But this battle also exhausted all their cultivation, and the two had to reincarnate and recultivate, waiting for the moment when their mission would awaken once again.

"So... so we have known each other for a long time..." Xiao Yuan's tears fell like rain, but her eyes were filled with joy, "From the moment heaven and earth were first created, we have been together..."

"Yes, our fate is older than heaven and earth," Lin Xuan held her hand tightly, "No matter how many times we reincarnate, no matter how far apart we are, we will find each other again."

With the complete awakening of their past-life memories, a power transcending the mundane began to surge within them. This power was more ancient than Immortal power and purer than demonic power; it was the Taichu power from the origin of heaven and earth.

"This... what is this power?" Cihang Xianzi felt the changes in the two, a look of shock flashing in her eyes, "Taichu origin... could it be that you are..."

She seemed to have thought of something, but dared not be certain. The legends of Immortal Lord Taichu and Immortal Fairy Purifying World were merely ancient myths even in the Immortal Realm; she had not expected them to reappear at such a time.

The Hun Dun Demon God also felt the threat; it stopped charging its destructive magic and instead stared at the two who were awakening: "Impossible! Immortal Lord Taichu and Immortal Fairy Purifying World disappeared into the long river of history long ago! You are nothing but two mortals!"

However, facts speak louder than words. With the complete awakening of their memories, Xiao Yuan and Lin Xuan's cultivation began to rise crazily. From the Golden Core Stage to the Nascent Soul Stage, from the Nascent Soul Stage to the Transformation Stage, from the Transformation Stage to the Integration Stage...

This rise did not have the slightest pause, as if they were merely recovering the power that originally belonged to them.

"Taichu Evolution—All Things Return to One!" Lin Xuan raised his right hand, and a Taiji Pattern containing infinite possibilities appeared in his palm. This pattern was completely different from the previous one, containing the primitive power from when heaven and earth were first created.

"Purifying World Divine Light—Wash Away the Dust!" Xiao Yuan raised her left hand, and her palm bloomed with a pure light ten thousand times more powerful than before. This light could purify all evil and could even bring the dead back to life.

The two's powers began to merge, forming a terrifying might capable of creating heaven and earth. In front of this power, the Hun Dun Demon God felt true fear for the first time.

"No... this is impossible... This God is an indestructible existence!" The Hun Dun Demon God roared crazily, desperately mobilizing all the power within its body in an attempt to resist.

But it was too late.

"The karma of the past life, let it be settled in this life," Xiao Yuan's voice became ethereal and majestic, containing power that transcended time and space, "Hun Dun Demon God, your evil reign shall end."

"Yin and Yang United—Taichu Reappears!"

The two struck at the same time, and the power of the Taichu origin erupted instantly. Wherever this power reached, everything returned to its most primitive state. Evil was purified, chaos was pacified, and even the shattered space began to repair itself.

The Hun Dun Demon God could not resist at all in front of this power; its body began to dissipate rapidly, turning into the most primitive Hun Dun Qi and merging back into heaven and earth.

"No... This God is not reconciled... This God will return..." The Demon God let out a final roar of unwillingness, then completely disappeared into the Taichu light.

With the disappearance of the Hun Dun Demon God, those demon soldiers also lost their source of power and dissipated into black mist one after another. Even the Mo Jie Tong Dao was completely closed under the purification of the Taichu power.

"It's over..." Taixuan Laozu watched all this, a huge shock surging in his heart, "It's really over..."

Zhang Wuji and the other rogue cultivators were even more moved to tears. They had finally witnessed with their own eyes the moment when justice triumphed over evil.
