Chapter 17

He quickly closed his eyes.

If Sylph discovered he was peeking... the loyalty he had just raised to "Close Affinity" might drop immediately.

"My lord Su Yu."

Sylph, now wearing leather armor, called out.

She was enjoying life in the territory; yesterday, aside from leading Su Yu at the start to seize some land, she had done almost nothing else.

The territory needed her intervention at all.

No need to lead patrols, no need to hunt monsters, no need to clear the fog of war—truly a pleasant and comfortable life.

"Good morning, Sylph."

Su Yu opened his sleepy eyes, yawned, and pretended he had just woken up.

Her golden hair shone brilliantly in the morning light, and Sylph displayed a radiant smile.

Su Yu couldn't help but stare, somewhat dazed.

"Haha, this flying unit is just awesome!"

A thin youth lay prone on the back of a griffin,

feeling the howl of the wind, shouting in delight.

Griffins, as high-tier units, were not rare.

But as flying units, they were extremely scarce.

Every lord knew how important air superiority was.

No matter how strong or fierce your ground defenses were,

once you lost air superiority, you would become fish and meat for others to slaughter.

Therefore, the importance of flying units was usually the highest among all unit types.

Possessing flying units early on could also quickly clear the fog of war.

Once the fog of war was cleared, it would take a long time to spread back,

and it would never spread into the lord's territory range.

At this moment, the thin youth lying on the griffin's back was named Xu Meng.

He was a new lord.

He was rapidly exploring the surrounding fog of war.

Compared to other lords,

his exploration speed was very fast.

The griffin's flight speed was not slow,

so in just one day, he had cleared the fog within nearly 100 kilometers.

He also discovered other new lord territories and marked them.

"Once the seven-day Human Protection Period ends, I'll attack and conquer their territories!"

Xu Meng grinned; once he could conquer another's territory,

he could not only gain a large amount of territory energy but also obtain the other party's belongings.

If he encountered a beautiful female lord, he might even take her as a slave.

"Eh?"

As the griffin flew, the fog of war ahead suddenly vanished.

Xu Meng was overjoyed;

this meant there was another new lord nearby who had cleared the fog of war!

As for encountering an old lord, there was no such worry.

The Myriad Realms Battlefield would not deploy new lords near the territories of old lords.

"Hehe, mark it."

"After seven days, I'll conquer this place too."

Xu Meng smiled; he was not afraid of failing to attack other new lord territories after seven days.

As long as the opponent had no flying units, even if he just threw stones from the griffin,

he could smash the opponent's Lord Crystal.

The griffin's maximum flight altitude could reach 300 meters,

a distance that basic arrow defense towers simply could not reach.

"Whoosh—"

Xu Meng rode the griffin, flying forward rapidly,

preparing to openly tour this territory and see the opponent's desperate expression.

Suddenly, several sounds of arrows cutting through the air rang out,

The griffin let out a mournful cry and plummeted straight down.

?

Xu Meng's mind went blank; while he was still in mid-air, he was also hit by an arrow and died on the spot.

Flesh and blood condensed beside the Lord Crystal,

and the resurrected Xu Meng was still not fully back to his senses.

What happened?

It seemed he was... shot by arrows?

What kind of bow has such a range?!

What kind of arrow defense tower has such a range?!

He was at an altitude of 300 meters!

Xu Meng was stunned for a long time, then suddenly let out a wail of despair: "My griffin!!"

The recruitment price for high-tier troops is naturally not cheap.

For an ordinary person, every high-tier troop in the early stages is extremely rare.

Xu Meng sat on the ground, wanting to cry but having no tears.

【Congratulations, your hero Sylph has slain the high-tier troop Griffin, obtaining Griffin Meat x10 and 100 Experience Points.】

【Congratulations, your hero Sylph has reached Level 3, and all attributes have increased.】

Sylph, who had stopped the arrow defense tower's attack, lowered her divine bow.

Experience points delivered to the door would be a pity if let the tower kill them.

"Snap!"

Su Yu watched the giant bird's corpse fall at the foot of the mountain, bones and blood splattering.

What's going on?

He glanced at the Lord Terminal prompt, his face showing surprise.

"High-tier troop, Griffin?"

Are there other new lords nearby?

This is truly great news.

Su Yu smiled: "Li Li Huahua, come collect the feathers."

"Yes, my lord." A woman dressed in flamboyant attire walked gracefully toward the griffin corpse.

Walking among the mountain rocks, her steps were light and agile, completely unlike a farmer.

Farmer Li Li Huahua was chosen by Su Yu to manage the work of other female farmers.

Farmer Zhang San was responsible for managing the work of other male farmers.

"My lord Su Yu, I wish to go out and hunt."

Seeing the smile on Su Yu's face, Sylph inexplicably spoke those words.

Perhaps because loyalty had risen to 80, she wanted to do something for Su Yu on her own initiative.

Killing one griffin could make the Lord happy; she wanted to make the Lord even happier.
