Chapter 1083: Heavy Troop Encirclement

~7 min read 1,306 words

Stepping out of the Council Pavilion, Chen Yu said in a deep voice, "I will return. Whoever harmed Mr. Ming, wash your necks clean and wait for me."

Chen Yu took a step, and with a whoosh, his figure blurred into a shadow; a massive aura condensed into a stream of air that whistled away, and the heavy troops on the ground had no way to stop Chen Yu at all.

"Quick, issue a wanted notice! A nationwide manhunt for Chen Yu! Whoever can bring back Chen Yu's head will be heavily rewarded," Yingshao roared in anger. "He absolutely must not be allowed to leave S Jing alive, absolutely not."

Chen Yu could no longer hear his roaring.

The Emerald mine was under martial law once again, and the nationwide arrest warrant had been posted; now, as soon as Chen Yu showed his face, police would immediately rush over.

In the hotel, Yu Sichen had finished her Meditation. She had been staying in the hotel for the past few days, almost never stepping out, but as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw the wanted notice, and she hurriedly contacted Chen Yu.

"Brother Chen, what happened?" Yu Sichen asked.

"I was framed by someone. It's fine, I can handle it. Have you finished your Meditation?" Chen Yu asked.

"Yes, the Meditation is over now," Yu Sichen said.

"Has your realm improved?" Chen Yu asked.

"It has improved quite a bit," Yu Sichen smiled. "Brother Chen, where are you? I'll come find you."

"Go to the mine north of the hotel now and find Yu Qiao. Don't get into trouble there; I'll go handle some things first," Chen Yu smiled. "It's fine, I'll handle it myself."

After giving instructions to Yu Sichen, Chen Yu put down his phone. He was currently on a remote street in the capital of S Country. Regarding the framing, he had to find some clues.

Just then, a man collecting scrap walked toward him. The man was dressed in rags and appeared to be someone struggling at the very bottom of society. He merely glanced at Chen Yu and then hurried away.

After putting some distance between himself and Chen Yu, he suddenly pointed at Chen Yu and started shouting in the local dialect. Although Chen Yu could not quite understand his words, he understood the general meaning; he meant that a wanted criminal had been discovered here.

In an instant, the quiet street began to stir. A group of local residents grabbed weapons and charged toward Chen Yu, their emotions running high, determined to put Chen Yu to death.

Chen Yu shook his head; these people understood nothing and were only being manipulated by public opinion.

The reason these people were so agitated was not entirely because they hated Chen Yu for backstabbing their Head of State, but more likely for the rewards they would get after killing Chen Yu.

With a flash, he vanished without a trace. Chen Yu did not want to clash with these ants; what he needed was to find clues.

At night, in a small pavilion, Chen Yu contacted Anna.

"Mr. Chen, I have found the clues you needed. The waitress who was on duty that day is named Lili. She is a local. To be able to enter the Council Pavilion to serve tea and water to the Head of State, she must have a clean background. No abnormalities were found in her identity." Anna took out several documents and handed them to Chen Yu.

There was a photo of a girl on the documents. Chen Yu could still recall that when he first entered the Council Pavilion, it was this girl who served tea and water for him and Mr. Ming.

"Her identity is fine, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that she was used by someone," Chen Yu put down the documents and said. "Where is she now?"

"She has been locked up for interrogation. The location is in a Prison in the capital." Anna tapped on her Microcomputer, and a file was already sent to Chen Yu's phone.

This file showed the map inside the Prison and the location where Lili was being held. Chen Yu took a look and said, "Are you asking me to break into a prison?"

"Uh... I just thought you needed to," Anna gave an awkward smile. "Are you not going?"

"I do need to. Breaking in by force isn't great, so I'll have to sneak in secretly," Chen Yu smiled.

"Then what was with your attitude just now? You scared me," Anna rolled her eyes. "The routes inside, the surveillance along the way, and the locations and times of patrols are all marked."

"Also, here is a device, an Electronic Jammer. Keep it on you. Press the switch when necessary, and the magnetic field it emits can temporarily disable surveillance equipment," Anna took out something that looked like a pen.

"You have this kind of high-tech?" Chen Yu took the device. In fact, his movement technique was fast—fast enough that cameras couldn't see his shadow—and he could use an Invisibility Talisman if necessary, so sneaking into the Prison wouldn't be much of a problem.

"This isn't the most advanced one. If you go, I'll provide support from the outside," Anna said. "I'll provide you with some intelligence, hack their systems, and so on."

"No need. If you go, I won't be able to move freely. I'll go myself," Chen Yu shook his head. "Is it certain that Lili is being held there?"

"Certain," Anna said. "I was afraid of making a mistake, so I confirmed it several times. She is indeed being held there."

"Alright then, I'll go scout the path tonight. Lili was responsible for Mr. Ming's daily life. He must have already been poisoned before I arrived, and this kind of poison is very special; you can't see any signs of it before it takes effect," Chen Yu stood up and said.

"Alright, take care of yourself," Anna said.

"Okay, you go back too. Be more careful these few days," Chen Yu said.

Just then, Chen Yu's expression turned stern. He looked into the night; someone was coming, and...

Anna's reaction was not slow either. She also realized it. The two stood up and saw more than ten cars driving over. The lead car stopped, and a man with a face full of scars rushed over.

"Go first, they're looking for me," Chen Yu said calmly.

Anna nodded, then quickly turned and left, disappearing into the darkness.

"Heh heh, Chen Yu, you really are here," the man grinned hideously. "Brothers, capture this kid! From now on, our Sanhe Chamber of Commerce will be the number one chamber of commerce in S Jing."

"And who are you?" Chen Yu stared at the scarred man. He did not know what kind of background this guy had.

"Sanhe Chamber of Commerce, Sang Kun, from Hong Kong, moved here thirty years ago," the scarred man stared at Chen Yu.

"I see. Your grandfather was a traitor, a notorious running dog who sold national secrets to hostile countries, leading to the deaths of dozens of Special Intelligence Bureau personnel lurking abroad. Later, when the matter was exposed, he fled here?" Chen Yu stared at this guy.

"You actually know about me?" Sang Kun looked at Chen Yu in surprise, then laughed happily. "So what? At least our Liu Family lived well back then, and even now, we aren't doing badly here."

"Three generations of your ancestors were running dogs, and it's considered a decline by your generation," Chen Yu sneered. "You must be doing all kinds of evil in S Jing too."

"Can't help it. For the sake of survival, as long as there's an opportunity, I would betray the country again without hesitation," Sang Kun chuckled.
