Chapter 1694: The Butterfly Effect
"Suit yourself. You're using these kinds of tricks to scare children on me? What do you take me, Zhou Yang, for?" Zhou Yang sneered, not taking Zhao Ping seriously at all.
"Fine, fine. I hope you can still maintain this attitude when you talk to me in a moment." Zhao Ping was furious. He pulled his hand back and yanked the Dagger out of the big man's thigh.
Pfft... Blood immediately gushed from the guy's thigh like a fountain.
Yet, what left him stunned and suspicious was that the guy still felt nothing. He continued to glance at Zhao Ping with indifferent eyes, as if the knife hadn't been stabbed into his own thigh at all.
"Are you going to submit?" Chen Yu walked up with a smile.
"This guy, does he not know pain?" Zhao Ping was somewhat alarmed. He truly didn't know if this fellow was even human anymore.
"As a hardened criminal wanted internationally for many years, it would be truly strange if he were actually afraid of the Dagger in your hand." Chen Yu laughed: "Go out. Let me have a chat with this fellow."
"Alright." Zhao Ping had no choice but to nod and walk out.
Wu Bo had been busy in the shop the whole time. Seeing Zhao Ping walk out, he couldn't help but laugh: "What, frustrated?"
"Wu Bo, would you say my strength is really that bad?" Zhao Ping said somewhat helplessly: "During training, I felt my results were quite good among the trainees of our batch."
"Not bad. I've hosted so many people who have carried out missions abroad; your level is among the top few. How can you say you're bad?" Wu Bo said, putting down the work in his hands.
"Then why do I feel like I'm hitting walls everywhere here? Failing missions in the past is one thing, but this time, even a small-time hardened criminal won't submit to me." Zhao Ping said helplessly: "That guy, I stabbed his thigh with a knife, and he didn't even make a sound."
"It's not that you're weak, but that the people you've encountered are too strong." Wu Bo shook his head slightly. He stood up and said: "Don't think too much. You have to know that there is a butterfly effect in this world."
"Butterfly effect?" Zhao Ping looked at Wu Bo with some confusion. He didn't quite understand the meaning behind what Wu Bo said.
"Mr. Chen is a powerhouse, right?" Wu Bo said.
"Right, he is a powerhouse beyond reproach." Zhao Ping nodded. There was nothing to argue about there; Chen Yu was indeed a powerhouse, whether in terms of strength or other aspects.
"When you are by the side of a powerhouse, the people or things you encounter have already changed." Wu Bo said: "So by comparison, you feel your strength is somewhat insufficient."
"So that's how it is. Wu Bo, you aren't just comforting me, are you?" Zhao Ping asked with some doubt.
"Comforting you? Do you think I have the time to comfort you?" Wu Bo glanced at him and said: "There are so many things to busy myself with early in the morning, and you say I'm comforting you?"
"Alright." Zhao Ping gave a bitter smile. Regarding this matter, he had no choice but to force himself to swallow his pride.
A moment later, a hysterical scream came from inside the room.
Zhao Ping sat up abruptly, wanting to rush in, but he thought about it and stopped his steps. Chen Yu was inside, so what was he worried about?
It was just that he was curious about what method Chen Yu was using to deal with Zhou Yang. After all, that was an international thief with over a dozen lives on his hands.
And just now, when he stabbed his Dagger into the guy's thigh, the guy didn't even grunt. What method could Chen Yu possibly be using to make this international thief let out such an intense scream?
He didn't have to wait long. A moment later, Chen Yu walked out, while the few people inside had already lost all signs of life. Looking at them, they were most likely dead.
"Mr. Chen, you... you killed them?" Zhao Ping looked at Chen Yu with some depression.
"They cooperated and said everything that needed to be said. Why would I keep them?" Chen Yu said indifferently.
"How did you get them to open their mouths? You have to know that just now, I used every trick in the book and still couldn't get them to talk." Zhao Ping said with some depression.
"Young man." Chen Yu stopped his steps. He looked at Zhao Ping and smiled slightly: "Let me teach you a trick. Sometimes, to make a person suffer, you don't necessarily have to torture their physical body. Sometimes, if you use mental suppression, the effect might be even better."
"Alright, I've already asked what I needed to ask. Now I'm going to find Huang Hong and his son to chat. You handle these few people." After Chen Yu finished speaking, he strode away, leaving behind a bewildered Zhao Ping.
He looked at the few people in the room and saw that the several arrogant hardened criminals now all had their eyes wide open. Even in death, their faces maintained an expression of terror, as if they had seen something extremely horrifying before they died.
Zhao Ping shook his head helplessly. He walked into the room and began to deal with the corpses of these few people.
In a villa, Huang Hong and his son were chatting face to face.
Huang Hong appeared somewhat restless. He would sit down, then pace around the room, and from time to time, he would glance at the watch in his hand, seemingly waiting for some news.
"What time is it already? Why is there still no news? Could something have gone wrong?" Huang Hong couldn't sit still anymore; he stood up abruptly and asked.
"I've told you how many times? If you want to accomplish great things, you must have the composure of someone who accomplishes great things." Huang Jinguo glanced at him and took a slow sip of the tea in his hand: "If you are as impatient as this, what can you accomplish?"
"Father, I know what you're saying, but a long time has already passed, and we still haven't received the slightest bit of news. This seems a bit abnormal."
"What's abnormal about it?" Huang Jinguo said leisurely: "Chen Yu was always a tough nut to crack. Rest assured, Immortal Chixiao has already made full preparations. This time, we will definitely make sure Chen Yu never returns."
"Then what about Zhou Yang? There is no news back from him either. So much time has passed; for them, kidnapping a little girl shouldn't be a difficult task, right?" Huang Hong said with some anxiety.
One had to know that the Zhou Yang he hired was an international hardened criminal; things like murder and kidnapping were second nature to him. Yet, up until now, there had been no feedback, which made him feel somewhat panicked.
"Perhaps there was some accident that delayed them. Just sit down and wait for news." Huang Jinguo appeared very calm. This old fox had done such things more than once or twice, so compared to his son, he was much more experienced.
Huang Hong sat down dejectedly, but he was still somewhat uneasy. He pondered for a moment: "How about I send someone to ask and see if something went wrong halfway?"
"What is there to ask?" Huang Jinguo glanced at him and said: "If they are currently in the middle of an operation, you rashly calling them will only lead to the failure of their mission."
