Chapter 1805: Let's Play Another Round
After all, Pascal is related to his own life and livelihood; if he is cured sooner, he can have peace of mind sooner. Otherwise, if there were any unforeseen changes, he would not be able to bear such consequences.
"Do you know how to play Go?" Chen Yu noticed a Go board set up on a table.
"I know a little. I learned it after I started believing in Buddhism. Although I took the test for a rank, it isn't very high," An'er said modestly.
In truth, his skill is quite good, but in front of Chen Yu, he dared not be arrogant.
"Let's play a game of Go," Chen Yu said.
"Alright." An'er hesitated for a moment, then nodded; he dared not go against Chen Yu's wishes.
Thus, the two sat down at the side of the Go board and began to play.
An'er did not know how good Chen Yu's skill was, so when he started playing, he was a bit timid. He wanted to lose to Chen Yu on purpose, but he could not make it look too obvious.
"If you want your illness to get better quickly, then play the game properly," Chen Yu said indifferently. "Bring out your true strength to play; otherwise, I cannot guarantee whether your illness will get better."
"Alright." An'er was startled, and then his competitive spirit was ignited. He nodded and began to play seriously.
Since he had started playing seriously, Chen Yu did not hold back either. After a round of fierce fighting, he had An'er struggling to cope.
Sweat poured down An'er's forehead. He probably never dreamed that Chen Yu's Go skills would be so formidable.
He was forced by Chen Yu to the point of having almost no room to fight back, defending blindly with no way to attack.
Watching a large swath of his own pieces being captured, the man's heart rate accelerated and his face flushed red; he held a piece, not knowing where to place it.
He finally chose a spot to place it, yet the moment he put it down, he was shocked, for he had fallen into a trap.
Chen Yu grabbed a piece and, without the slightest hesitation, captured a large pile of his Heizi.
Facing Chen Yu's relentless pressure, An'er had no choice but to do his best to cope. In the blink of an eye, the game was over.
An'er was crushed.
Looking at the pieces scattered in disarray, An'er was dumbfounded. He was unconvinced, because his Go skill was widely recognized.
"Let's... play another game," An'er said through gritted teeth. It wasn't that he couldn't afford to lose, but that he couldn't accept losing so miserably.
Looking at the outcome of his crushing defeat, he could not accept the fact.
Because even when playing against international Go masters, he had never lost so miserably before.
"Fine, again," Chen Yu nodded slightly and continued to play with An'er.
Another game, yet this one took even less time, and An'er lost even more miserably.
He stared blankly at the board, which had been slaughtered to a horrific state, and he was completely stunned.
"How about we play another one?" Chen Yu looked at his expression and knew he was unconvinced, so he smiled slightly.
"Alright, let's... play again." An'er nodded through gritted teeth; he felt he had lost far too miserably and was not reconciled.
"Continue." Chen Yu swept his right hand, clearing the board, and then continued to play with this guy.
The two of them actually played like this for an entire night.
In the final game, An'er managed to recover slightly, but he still lost, only not as miserably as in the previous rounds.
Throughout the entire night, the cold sweat on his forehead had never stopped.
But he was never able to beat Chen Yu. He stared blankly at the board, completely dazed.
"In this world, everything has two sides. Victory and defeat, life and death, are all relative," Chen Yu said leisurely. "In fact, once you have a competitive spirit, you have already fallen into a lower state."
"When things reach an extreme, they turn into their opposites; the Heavenly Dao and Reincarnation are the same."
"Therefore, being too attached to life and death will only make you die faster. This world has always been this way and has never changed."
"Am I... too obsessed?" An'er believed in Buddhism; he vaguely understood the meaning of Chen Yu's words, but he wasn't too sure.
"All things in the world come together and drift apart; birth, aging, sickness, and death are the common lot of humanity," Chen Yu said slowly. "Sometimes, if your obsession is too heavy, it will be counterproductive."
Chen Yu raised his head and said, "Today I will cure your illness, but if you continue to hold this attitude, you will eventually fall ill again."
"My, my illness?" An'er stood up abruptly. Only then did he discover that his entire body was soaked, and sweat was streaming down his forehead.
Moreover, black substances were seeping out of every pore on his body. Although he didn't know what had happened to him, he felt a sense of lightness in his body. Was his illness... cured?
"Your illness is already cured," Chen Yu smiled slightly. "In that last game of Go, I used the Haoran Breath to nourish your internal organs. Now, all the symptoms in your body have disappeared."
"But... my illness is cancer," An'er still couldn't quite believe it. Yes, his illness was cancer; he truly couldn't believe his illness was just cured like this.
"It's just cancer," Chen Yu said. "As long as you haven't been torn limb from limb or crushed into pulp by a car, I can bring you back from the dead."
"If you don't believe it, why not gather your medical team to check?"
"Alright, thank you, Mr. Chen. I will have someone take Mr. Chen to rest now." An'er steadied himself; regardless of whether this was true, he had to get it checked.
Because he did indeed feel that his body was much better; he felt refreshed and completely lacked the feeling he had when he was sick.
He was also willing to believe that Chen Yu had cured his illness, so he was impatient to figure out what was going on.
A maid stepped forward and led Chen Yu to the guest room.
An'er's residence was extremely large; it was essentially a miniature version of a royal palace.
Chen Yu's accommodation was an independent villa, but behind his villa, there was an Ancient Castle.
The Ancient Castle was very tall, yet it was pitch black; there wasn't even a light inside, and Chen Yu could feel an aura of a Dark Creature from within.
"What is this place?" Chen Yu's brows locked tightly. If his intuition was correct, there were Dark Creatures inside.
No matter how powerful An'er was, he was only an ordinary person. Would he dare to live with a Dark Creature?
"That is where Miss Eve lives; she is Mr. An'er's daughter," the maid replied.
"An'er's daughter?" The expression on Chen Yu's face became even more puzzled.
Could it be that the other party was a Dark Creature? An'er was human; he couldn't possibly give birth to a Dark Creature.
Just as he was about to ask in detail, an old man wearing a tuxedo with graying hair walked over. He said sternly, "Why are you lingering here? Quickly take the guest to rest."
"I'm sorry, Butler Mo Bo, I will take the guest to rest right away." The maid was startled and bowed quickly, appearing to be very afraid of this butler.
"Mr. Chen, please follow me," the maid said, raising her head.
