Chapter 246: Hundred Baleful Array
Having knocked down two snipers, A Fu collapsed onto the ground with a thud. He was gasping for air violently, his body having become almost entirely transparent. The baleful energy on the two snipers was too heavy; he had risked his life just to get close. Although he had knocked them down, his Yin energy had been damaged, and if he were not careful, he would dissipate into nothingness.
Chen Yu swung his sword, and several more death soldiers fell to the ground. The snipers on both sides also ceased fire, and the attackers finally retreated in defeat.
Putting away Lichen, Chen Yu hurried to the front of Xie Wuji. He pointed out with silver needles in his hand, using the Locking Life Nine Needles to sustain Xie Wuji's life.
"How is it?" Fourth Master Huang asked, looking up.
Chen Yu shook his head and sighed slightly, saying, "Such is fate; I cannot change it."
"Old Xie." Fourth Master Huang's eyes were bloodshot as he gripped Xie Wuji's hand tightly.
"Fourth Master..." Xie Wuji managed a weak smile. "People always have this day. As Chen Yu said, this is fate; no one can change it."
"Go to the hospital, let's go." Fourth Master Huang said in a deep voice, "The ten-year agreement has arrived, and you will be free tomorrow. You cannot go."
"No, if even little Chen cannot save me, what is the use of going to the hospital? Little Chen." Xie Wuji turned to Chen Yu.
"Senior Xie, I am here." Chen Yu stepped forward.
"I am the head of the Thirteen Taibao. If I go today, the only thing I cannot let go of is the Thirteen Taibao. Over these years, I have cultivated my nature through Martial Dao and nourished my body with virtue, but the human world is restless, and many in the Thirteen Taibao have forgotten the Martial Dao and martial virtue."
"This is the Taibao Order. From now on, you will take my place in managing the Thirteen Taibao. If anyone among the Thirteen Taibao dares to defy the tenets of Martial Dao and uses their martial arts to bully others, you may kill them on my behalf."
A heavy, black token was placed into Chen Yu's hand. Chen Yu gripped the Taibao Order tightly: "Please rest assured, Senior Xie. I, Chen Yu, will certainly not fail your trust."
"That is good." Xie Wuji laughed loudly: "Living between heaven and earth, one is like a traveler on a long journey. Fourth Master, I shall take my leave first."
Suddenly, his laughter ceased abruptly. His head drooped to one side, and he was silent.
"Old Xie..." Fourth Master Huang let out a howl of grief. He bent down and lifted Xie Wuji into his arms.
He and Xie Wuji were master and servant in name, but they were true bosom friends in reality. Today, Xie Wuji had died to save him, and Fourth Master Huang was already filled with fury.
"Chang Hu."
"Fourth Master, I am here." Chang Hu bowed and said.
"Use the full strength of the Three Provinces to destroy He Wei." Fourth Master Huang ordered in a deep voice.
"Yes." A flash of brilliance appeared in Chang Hu's eyes. It had been ten years; Fourth Master Huang had been cultivating his character and had lost the killing intent of his younger days, but today, that Fourth Master who once made people tremble with fear had returned.
"Leave He Wei to me; the other forces can be handled by you, Fourth Master." Chen Yu said, "I must attend this appointment tonight."
"Be careful yourself. He Wei returned to Fengling with a changed identity, but everything he does is shady. He wants to take back everything his grandfather had in Fengling, which is nothing but a delusion." Fourth Master Huang shouted.
"Understood. Chang Hu, send Fourth Master back. I am going to meet He Wei." Chen Yu nodded.
In the suburbs, inside a private villa, He Wei sat on a sofa, drinking red wine with ease. Su Yan walked over slowly. She bowed slightly and said, "Manager He, do you have any instructions?"
Su Yan's long hair was pinned up, and her eyes were as calm as the sea, possessing an aura that seemed to reject nothing and yet encompass rivers.
"Su Yan, after tonight, Fengling will be mine." He Wei said with a chuckle.
"Has Manager He's plan been moved forward?" A trace of surprise flashed in Su Yan's eyes.
"That's right, moved forward. Fourth Master Huang has enjoyed enough these past few decades. What is owed to my He Family will be paid back in full tonight." He Wei smiled faintly.
"But Manager He, this is Huaxia. Such a massive disturbance within the country is not a good thing." Su Yan's delicate brows furrowed slightly.
"I can't worry about that. That old thing must die tonight, and Chen Yu as well. Neither of them will survive." He Wei laughed: "You are my assistant; you must support all my decisions."
"What if it doesn't succeed?" Su Yan looked up and asked.
"Doesn't succeed? Heh, impossible." He Wei sneered: "I don't believe his life is that resilient."
"Then I am afraid you will be disappointed, as both my life and Fourth Master Huang's are quite resilient." A deep voice came, and with a flash of a figure, someone appeared opposite He Wei. This person was none other than Chen Yu.
"Chen Yu, it's you." The expression on He Wei's face gradually turned cold.
"It is me. This is our first time meeting, right?" Chen Yu smiled.
"Yes, it is the first time. I never imagined that a minor character I had never even looked at would actually affect my plans." He Wei said coldly.
"Not looking at me was your biggest mistake." Chen Yu sneered: "He Wei, I came here today for no other reason than to simply take your life."
"That is truly a coincidence. My brother's life is also something I am looking to collect from you." He Wei's face was ferocious.
"Your brother deserved to die, and you are just like him." Chen Yu smiled, and as his hand moved, he prepared to strike.
Suddenly, He Wei's figure flashed, and he was already several yards away. At the same time, the room became filled with a sinister Yin energy, and mist began to permeate the air.
"Chen Yu, did you really think I had no backup plan? Haha, just you wait." He Wei laughed loudly, and amidst a burst of mist, he vanished from the room.
The entire room suddenly turned into a patch of fog. Layer upon layer of mist filled the interior, making everything look dreamlike and illusory.
Within the mist, there were sounds of ghosts crying and wolves howling, along with countless shrill laughs, as if it were a Purgatory on earth. With a flash of figures, three headless Walking Corpses slowly walked toward Chen Yu.
"Hundred Baleful Array." Chen Yu was startled. He gripped Lichen in his hand: "What expert is here?"
"Heh heh, Chen Yu, I am Jiuyin. Do you know my disciple, Feng Yang?" A phantom appeared in the array; this person was none other than Jiuyin.
"Fengyang Jushi?" Chen Yu understood instantly: "You mean that Sorcerer?"
"That's right, Chen Yu. In this life, I only had this one disciple. I intended for him to inherit my mantle, but unfortunately, he died at your hands. Today, I have come to avenge him." Jiuyin said with a sinister tone.
"I did have a conflict with him, but I did not kill him. If you want to know how he died, you can go underground and ask Du Feng." Chen Yu sneered.
"At death's door and still daring to be stubborn, heh heh. Chen Yu, my Hundred Baleful Array uses the Yin Land as its center and spreads for ten miles. Every lonely ghost and wild spirit in this area will be summoned into the array. I want to see how long you can hold out."
Jiuyin laughed coldly: "Enjoy the feast of a hundred ghosts I have prepared for you."
Jiuyin's figure slowly disappeared within the array, and immediately after, the three headless Walking Corpses suddenly increased their speed and lunged fiercely at Chen Yu.
Chen Yu swung Lichen, meeting the three Walking Corpses head-on. A sword shadow swept past, and several sword marks appeared on the bodies of the three Walking Corpses.
However, these Walking Corpses had been refined and were impervious to blades and spears. Chen Yu's sword strike did not damage their core, and the three headless Walking Corpses turned around and lunged at Chen Yu once again.
