Chapter 343: Is She Your Apprentice?
Wang Ling couldn't help but glance at Chen Yu; his tone didn't sound like he was asking someone for a favor, but rather like he was giving an order. Would Luo Huichun really fall for this? She absolutely did not believe it.
"Thank you, Mr. Chen," Yu Sichen said to Chen Yu with gratitude.
"You're welcome. You are my patient; if your illness doesn't get better, wouldn't that ruin my reputation? Your condition truly requires rest and relaxation," Chen Yu smiled slightly.
Yu Sichen's eyes turned slightly red. Her own mother didn't even care about her as much as a stranger she had just met, which left her feeling a great sense of disappointment.
Seeing Chen Yu so composed, Wang Ling couldn't help but feel suspicious. She muttered to herself, "If Luo Huichun doesn't show up in a moment, let's see how you wrap this up."
With Datian driving, Luo Huichun arrived in less than half an hour.
The door opened, and Luo Huichun walked in.
Wang Ling stood up with a start, her mouth hanging open wide enough to fit a duck egg.
There was no mistake, this old man was indeed Luo Huichun. She was a socialite who always found ways to sneak into various important events.
At one banquet, she had seen Luo Huichun save a life; he had brought a person on the brink of death back with just a few needles.
Yet, this old man had an extremely high status and gave no one special treatment. However, it was so late, and Chen Yu had summoned him with just one phone call, which made her feel it was somewhat unbelievable.
"Divine Doctor Luo, it really is you. Do you remember me? It's me, Wang Ling. I saw you save someone at a grand ceremony two years ago," Wang Ling came to her senses and hurriedly went to greet him.
"Oh, oh, hello, hello," Luo Huichun replied perfunctorily, then hurried to Chen Yu's side, bowed deeply, and said, "Master, why did you call me here so late?"
"Master?" Wang Ling was completely stunned; her brain short-circuited. Was this young man before her actually Luo Huichun's master?
Even Lu Ruxue looked shocked. She only knew that Chen Yu's medical skills were excellent, but she never imagined his skills had reached such a level that even Luo Huichun had to respectfully call him Master.
"It's nothing major. This lady said she doesn't believe in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but she does believe in your medical skills. I called you over to take a look at her daughter," Chen Yu said.
"Master, you are really shaming me. With you here, is it even my turn to act?" Luo Huichun looked nervous.
Wang Ling was dumbfounded, completely and utterly dumbfounded. She could be certain that the old man before her, who looked somewhat like an Immortal, was indeed the Divine Doctor Luo Huichun; there was no mistake about that.
This was a person whom countless big shots scrambled to see but couldn't. Everyone knew Luo Huichun's temper was notoriously stubborn; the more powerful and wealthy you were, the less he cared about you. For many, seeing him was harder than ascending to heaven.
Yet such a formidable figure was actually Chen Yu's apprentice, and his respectful attitude toward Chen Yu was enough to prove that he was calling Chen Yu Master of his own free will.
"Alright, then you explain it to her," Chen Yu gestured toward Wang Ling.
"What is wrong with you? My master's medical skills are countless times more brilliant than mine; how could you not believe in him?" Luo Huichun said angrily.
"I'm sorry, Divine Doctor Luo. I didn't know he was your master. I was wrong," Wang Ling lowered her head, acting timid.
"Do you know how high my master's level is? Before, when the richest man in Hong Kong Island, Deng Guosheng, offered half his family fortune, my master wouldn't even lift a finger. You truly don't know how lucky you are," Luo Huichun said, getting angrier as he spoke.
He admired Chen Yu's medical skills to the point of total devotion, and now that this woman didn't believe in his master's skills, it made him extremely angry.
Wang Ling was shocked. She couldn't help but take a few more looks at Chen Yu. She never imagined this young man was actually such a big shot. In that case, she could let her daughter stay a few more days to build a relationship with him.
After profuse thanks, Luo Huichun left. Wang Ling's face immediately blossomed into a smile: "Oh my, look at me, I had eyes but failed to recognize a true master. I didn't expect little Chen to be so capable, even Divine Doctor Luo bows to you as his master."
"Sichen, why don't you stay in Fengling for a few more days? I'm heading back first. You and Mr. Chen should interact more, and just have fun here for a few days to relax."
"Thank you, Mom." Yu Sichen's furrowed brows finally relaxed. She had grown up so much, but this was the first time she had been away on her own.
"Alright, alright, I'm going back now. Hehe, Ruxue, she hasn't traveled far before, please take care of her." Wang Ling's eyes crinkled with her smile.
"I will, Auntie." Lu Ruxue rolled her eyes inwardly; she was speechless that her best friend had ended up with such a mother.
"Mr. Chen, when you come to Shengjing in the future, you must come over for a visit," Wang Ling greeted everyone around before leaving, feeling satisfied.
Chen Yu was speechless; he had never seen someone like this.
"Mr. Chen, thank you," Yu Sichen's brows relaxed: "If it weren't for you, I'm afraid I wouldn't even have had a moment to breathe."
"You're welcome. Just call me Chen Yu from now on," Chen Yu smiled: "Alright, the matter is resolved, I'll be heading back too."
"I'll see you out," Lu Ruxue smiled slightly.
"Thank you, Chen Yu, for winning Sichen a chance to breathe. She really has it hard." After stepping outside, Lu Ruxue and Chen Yu walked through the residential complex's green belt.
"Her mother is bent on having her marry into a wealthy family?" Chen Yu asked.
"Yes, she must marry into a wealthy family. She has been groomed since childhood, proficient in everything from music and chess to calligraphy and painting. She was force-fed Western court etiquette, and the idea instilled in her has always been that she must marry into a wealthy family," Lu Ruxue sighed and said.
"How can anyone be a mother like that?" Chen Yu frowned. The half-bodied Wooden Carving hanging around Yu Sichen's neck had a problem, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what exactly it was.
"There's no helping it. The Yu Family used to be a Second Stage family in Shengjing. In a place like Shengjing, Aristocratic Families, wealthy clans, and families are packed together. Later, the Yu Family went bankrupt and declined, so her mother placed all her hopes on her, expecting her to marry into an Aristocratic Family or a wealthy clan to revitalize the Yu Family."
"That's difficult," Chen Yu shook his head: "Yu Sichen's spirit is wound too tight; sooner or later, something will go wrong."
"But what other way is there? She was born with this kind of Life and Appearance. I should be glad my family is average, otherwise I'd really be like her," Lu Ruxue smiled.
"Alright, you don't need to walk me any further. Go keep her company, I'm heading back," Chen Yu said.
"Okay, thank you. I'll treat you to a meal another day," Lu Ruxue shook hands with Chen Yu.
Suddenly, a few faint clicking sounds came from the side, as if someone were pressing a shutter.
Although the sound was extremely faint, with Chen Yu's current strength, he could still hear it. He frowned, lunged into the flower bushes to the side, and dragged out a man wearing a peaked cap.
The man was holding a DSLR camera. After Chen Yu threw him to the ground, he turned to run, but Chen Yu kicked him flat onto the ground.
"What are you doing? Help! Someone's hitting me!" The man opened his mouth to shout, but Chen Yu tapped his throat with a finger, and his voice instantly became hoarse.
