Chapter 505: Spirit-Summoning Game

~7 min read 1,375 words

With a hum, that black and white shadow was struck out by Chen Yu's Divine Sense, and it transformed into a mass of black Qi, intending to escape.

Chen Yu pointed a finger, and a piece of Talisman Paper shot from his fingertip; instantly, a Taoist Righteous Clarity Talisman formed a cage, firmly trapping the shadow within.

The girl's complexion returned to normal, and her body tilted, about to collapse onto the floor.

Chen Yu hurriedly supported her and placed her onto the hospital bed.

The commotion behind him grew louder; the Spirit Body in the cage hissed, constantly changing into various forms, attempting to break through the cage formed by the Righteous Clarity Talisman.

Chen Yu furrowed his brows; this thing was an absolute malevolent entity, possessing no rationality whatsoever, and even if he were to perform a deliverance, it could not enter Reincarnation, so he pinched a Dao Formula, intending to destroy it.

"Don't, Chen Yu, it's a great tonic, leave it for me." A green shadow flashed, and A Fu appeared; he circled the Righteous Clarity Talisman, looking as if he were drooling.

"Why do you eat everything?" Chen Yu was caught between laughter and tears, and with a casual wave, he withdrew the Righteous Clarity Talisman.

With a whoosh, a streak of black Qi shot into the sky, intending to flee.

But A Fu's form expanded, turning into a giant mouth in mid-air, and then he swallowed the thing in mid-air into his belly in one gulp.

After swallowing it, A Fu patted his belly in satisfaction, turned his head, and went back to cultivate.

Only then did Chen Yu look at the girl before him; because she had been occupied by the Spirit Body for too long, her complexion was pale, without a hint of color.

Moreover, having been eroded by Yin Qi, if not handled properly, her body would suffer permanent, irreversible damage.

Chen Yu took out Silver Needles, his hands moving like lightning as he pierced dozens of needles, then channeled Qi to calm her spirit, and finally dissolved a Talisman into water and fed it to her.

After finishing all this, Chen Yu opened the door, and the people outside walked in.

"How is she?" Li Bei asked nervously.

"She's fine, she will wake up after resting for a while," Chen Yu said.

No sooner had he finished speaking than Wu Yixue on the hospital bed woke up; she opened her sleepy eyes and called out, "Mom."

"Oh, Xiaoxue, you're finally awake. Are you alright? You scared Mom to death." Li Bei hurriedly ran to her daughter's side, hugging her as tears could not help but fall.

"Mom, what happened to me? It feels like I had a very long dream." Wu Yixue was still bewildered, not knowing what had happened.

Chen Yu smiled; Wu Yixue had previously had her body occupied by a Spirit Body which took control of her consciousness, so she had no idea what had happened to her at all.

"It's alright, as long as you're awake. You've been sick for the past few days with a high fever that wouldn't go down; you really scared Mom." Li Bei hugged her daughter, tears almost falling again.

"It's just a fever, I'm fine, Mom." Wu Yixue giggled, "I want to be discharged; I'm going on an adventure with my classmates in a few days."

"An adventure? What kind of adventure? Do you know you scared me to death?" Li Bei was startled; she hadn't wanted to tell her what had happened, but seeing her like this, she feared she didn't know how much danger she had been in.

"Forget about the adventure; your body has just recovered and needs to rest for a period of time," Chen Yu said. "Also, your constitution is prone to Yin; don't play games like summoning spirits in the future. Did you play Spirit Pen with people?"

"How did you know?" Wu Yixue was stunned. "Who are you?"

"This is Mr. Chen Yu. You had a high fever for days and couldn't find the cause after all the tests; it was Mr. Chen who stepped in to save you," Li Bei said hurriedly.

"Oh, I see. Thank you. How did you know I played Spirit Pen?" Wu Yixue asked.

Chen Yu smiled; wasn't it obvious? Spirit Pen requires at least four people to play, but her constitution was Yin-inclined, so it targeted her.

"You really played it?" Li Bei said angrily. "You are not allowed to play these things again in the future; it has a bad influence if it gets out, do you understand?"

"Mom, I know, don't be angry..." Wu Yixue shrank her head when she saw her mother was angry. "Many of my classmates are playing this game."

"This is a prescription for recuperation; go back and rest for a while. Also, keep this Brocade Pouch and carry it with you," Chen Yu instructed.

"Thank you, Mr. Chen. My husband Lao Wu will come to thank you in person after he returns tonight," Li Bei said.

"That won't be necessary. Xu Lao, if there's nothing else, I'll be going first; I have two elders waiting for me," Chen Yu said.

"Alright then, Little Chen, be sure to come to my house for a visit when you have time," Xu Wanshan said.

"Alright, I definitely will when I have time," Chen Yu smiled.

After bidding farewell to Xu Lao, Chen Yu drove toward the Wanhao Hotel.

He Lingyun was staying at this hotel, and she had booked the entire top floor.

The top floor of the Wanhao Hotel had a private elevator; Chen Yu parked the car and walked to the elevator.

"Sorry, private elevator, unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter." Two bodyguards at the entrance reached out to stop Chen Yu.

These two were members of He Lingyun's private bodyguard team; they had an extraordinary air and their strength should be quite good, and there were calluses on their right hands, likely personnel discharged from special forces.

Seeing that He Lingyun's private bodyguards were quite capable, Chen Yu felt much more at ease.

"I have been in contact with Ms. He; shall I give her a call now?" Chen Yu smiled.

"Go ahead." The two nodded.

While Chen Yu was taking out his phone to make the call, a man in his thirties walked over: "What's going on?"

A sharp light flashed in the man's eyes; it was clear his strength was extraordinary.

"Director Yu, this gentleman wants to see Director He," a bodyguard said.

"Who are you? What is your relationship with Director He?" the man turned to ask Chen Yu.

"I am her friend, and I have been in contact with her," Chen Yu said. "My name is Chen Yu."

"I am Director He's head of security, Yu Jianhe. I know all of her itinerary and appointments, and you are not on the list." The man frowned.

"Then where were you when she encountered danger in the Mountain?" Chen Yu was somewhat displeased; the tone of this man's speech made him very uncomfortable.

"Who are you?" Yu Jianhe's expression changed slightly.

"Alright, this is Director He's friend; I came down to pick him up." The elevator door opened, and Mu Xi walked out.

"Xixi, have you investigated this person's background?" Yu Jianhe's gaze softened immediately upon seeing Mu Xi.

"I'll warn you once, don't call me that. His name is Chen Yu, and I personally investigated his background." Mu Xi took Chen Yu's hand and walked into the elevator; she pressed the button for the top floor, intending to go up.

Yu Jianhe reached out to block the elevator: "Have you checked clearly? What is his relationship with Director He?"

"Just do your own job well; are you qualified to ask about Director He's private affairs?" A trace of anger appeared on Mu Xi's face: "Don't forget your own status."

"Forget it, it's all for work." Chen Yu pressed the elevator button and glanced at Yu Jianhe; the elevator door slowly closed.

"Is this her bodyguard?" Chen Yu asked.

"Yes, one of the few people she can trust," Mu Xi nodded.

"I don't like him," Chen Yu said, directly stating his inner thoughts.
