Chapter 706: You Are Nothing But a Playboy
"You actually managed to catch it?" Guo Xu's expression was one of astonishment, but he quickly reacted. He reached behind him, intending to take a new crossbow bolt from his bodyguard's hand.
This crossbow was custom-made; because its power was so great, it could not fire continuously.
However, Chen Yu no longer gave him the chance to reload. With a flash of his figure, the six bodyguards behind Guo Xu all collapsed to the ground. Guo Xu suddenly looked up, only to see the crossbow bolt that had just been fired, its tip pointing directly at his throat.
At the other end of the bolt was Chen Yu, who held a sword in one hand aimed at Guo Xu, his killing intent locking Guo Xu in place.
"You, what do you want to do?" Guo Xu could not help but shiver uncontrollably.
To be honest, Guo Xu was a heinous playboy. He liked playing with guns and crossbows, and he kept over a dozen purebred Tibetan mastiffs at home; he was a truly ruthless person.
Moreover, his Guo Clan had a prominent family background, so no matter how much trouble he caused, his family would always help him smooth things over, and he had never been afraid of anyone.
Yet, the Chen Yu before him gave him a feeling of heart-pounding dread. He did not doubt for a second that if he dared to be arrogant again, Chen Yu would drive this bolt straight down.
"Taking a life over a disagreement—you tell me what I want to do?" Chen Yu stared coldly at Guo Xu.
"I'm warning you, this is a matter between her and me; it has nothing to do with you." Guo Xu gritted his teeth and shouted arrogantly: "You had best not interfere in matters between our great families, otherwise, it will cost you your Life."
"Just a moment ago, I truly had no intention of interfering, but since you used this thing to shoot at me, I've changed my mind." Chen Yu sneered.
"Then what do you want?" Guo Xu was enraged: "Kid, don't be a busybody, otherwise your family might not even be able to find your corpse. Besides, do you know who I am?"
"Who are you?" Chen Yu asked coldly.
"I am Guo Xu. Go ask around; in Shengjing City, what kind of figure I, Guo Xu, am. I... ah..."
Before Guo Xu could finish his sentence, he felt a sharp pain in his thigh. He stumbled back a few steps and fell to the ground with a thud.
He looked down in disbelief, only to see the crossbow bolt that had been in Chen Yu's hand just a moment ago now embedded in his thigh, with blood streaming down his leg.
"You piece of trash, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to finish you off." Guo Xu roared hysterically, screaming as he dragged his body backward.
"Finish me off?" Chen Yu pressed down on the tail of the bolt, forcing Guo Xu to stop dragging his body backward: "Before you finish me off, let me make you wish you were dead."
Chen Yu moved his hand and forcibly pulled the crossbow bolt out of Guo Xu's thigh, then viciously stabbed it into his other thigh.
"Ah..." Guo Xu screamed, his eyes rolling back, his body stiffening, before he collapsed heavily to the ground.
"Let go of Young Master Guo." A bodyguard behind Guo Xu with decent combat ability lunged forward.
Chen Yu backhanded the bodyguard, slapping him away, then grabbed the crossbow bolt in Guo Xu's thigh and sneered: "Do you submit?"
"Submit... your mother..." Guo Xu spat out these words through gritted teeth.
Chen Yu grabbed the bolt, gave it a slight twist, and then pulled outward. The tip of the bolt inside Guo Xu's thigh was barbed; Chen Yu's twist and pull knotted a chunk of flesh in his thigh together, then forcibly tore out a large mass of flesh and blood.
Guo Xu rolled his eyes, his vision going black, and he flopped onto the ground, blood gushing from his thigh like a fountain.
"You can choose not to submit, that's fine, but the wound on your thigh probably won't allow it. At this rate, it won't even take half an hour before you die from the pain or blood loss." Chen Yu laughed.
"You, this is... breaking, breaking the law." Guo Xu trembled with pain; he no longer had the strength to crawl back up.
"Breaking the law?" Chen Yu laughed, as if he had heard the most ridiculous joke in the world. He suddenly snatched up the crossbow bolt in his hand and thrust it violently toward Guo Xu's head.
"Ah, ah, don't, don't." Guo Xu screamed hysterically, his two hands desperately shielding his head.
With a bang, sparks flew, and the crossbow bolt in Chen Yu's hand stabbed heavily into the concrete floor.
Guo Xu stared in shock at the bolt, with only half of it remaining exposed above the floor, so stunned that he even forgot the pain in his thigh. Is this something a human can do?
And if this bolt had just been driven into his head, his brains would have already been splattered everywhere.
"You let me go, I, I promise not to look for trouble with her again, let me go, let me go." A chill surged from the bottom of Guo Xu's heart, and his speech became somewhat incoherent.
"If you had done that earlier, it wouldn't have been so much trouble." Chen Yu grinned and then stood up: "Remember, never fall into my hands again, otherwise, I will make you wish you were dead."
Chen Yu's cold, gloomy words carried a trace of invisible penetration, striking straight at Guo Xu's heart. Guo Xu could not help but shiver uncontrollably; toward the person before him, he suddenly felt both hatred and fear.
"Let's go." Chen Yu turned around and left with Tang Xinyi.
"I'm sorry, I've implicated you." On the way, Tang Xinyi sighed: "The matter between me and the Guo Clan is not so easy to resolve."
"I am a person who cannot stand to see men bully women, and besides, that kid was the one who took the initiative to provoke me." Chen Yu smiled faintly.
"But this will add an enemy to your list for no reason." Tang Xinyi said with some anxiety: "The Guo Clan is not just a wealthy family; they have close ties with overseas forces, and there is nothing they wouldn't do."
"It's fine, I already have enough enemies anyway, I don't mind adding one more." Chen Yu said indifferently: "Besides, the Tang Clan has spent almost all its foundation on charity over these years. If I didn't help when you encountered trouble, that wouldn't be my style of doing things."
"Many years ago, my father and my uncle fought for power, which almost caused the Tang Clan to be ruined and family members to be killed. In the end, my uncle lost a leg, and my father lost my mother." Tang Xinyi said softly: "This matter caused a huge stir; the Tang Clan was divided into several factions, and their actions could have almost led to the destruction of the entire Tang Clan."
"My grandfather was furious and drove my father, my uncle, and the clansmen involved in the power struggle out of the Tang Clan, which was the only way to give the Tang Clan a chance to breathe."
"So it was from that time on that your grandfather suddenly realized the truth, or one could say he became disheartened, with quite a bit of intention to give away his family fortune?" Chen Yu said.
"Yes, he was disheartened. He believed that rather than handing over the massive family business to those unfilial descendants who would kill each other, it would be better to use it for charity." Tang Xinyi nodded slightly: "Later, I graduated from university and took over the Tang Clan, but when I took over, the Tang Clan's performance was in serious decline. I have barely managed to hold on until now, but I am already feeling somewhat powerless."
