Chapter 801: Return to the He Clan
This sharp thorn was similar to the quills on a porcupine, but it was much harder than anything found on an ordinary animal.
Blood bubbled from Yu Jianhe's mouth and nose; he lowered his head to glance at the sharp thorn in his chest, twitched a few times, and then collapsed into the darkness with a thud.
"Young Sect Master, it failed." The black-robed figure picked up a communication device and said only that one sentence calmly.
"Failed? What is the reason?" He Zhengye's angry voice came through the receiver.
"Because Chen Yu is here," the black-robed figure said calmly.
"Chen Yu again! My father let you come to assist me in seizing the He Clan, and you can't even handle a mere Chen Yu?" He Zhengye said in a deep voice.
"It's not that we can't handle him, but that we cannot touch him." The black-robed figure laughed. "You perhaps do not know his identity."
"Who is he?" He Zhengye's tone shifted slightly.
"He is the child of your sister who died seven days after birth."
"What did you say?" He Zhengye's voice shook; for a long while, he could not process it.
He Lingyun and Chen Yu got into another car, and this time, those who came to provide support were people whose strength far exceeded that of ordinary bodyguards.
"You were prepared long ago?" Chen Yu asked in surprise.
"Having fought with my eldest brother for so many years, I am clear in my heart about how many methods he has and how ruthless he is." He Lingyun smiled and said, "Since I planned to kick him out of the game, I had to have a few extra preparations."
"Don't you also have people in the shadows?" Mu Xi glanced at Chen Yu and said, "Yu Jianhe was an important chess piece planted by He Zhengye beside your sister. He had to succeed tonight, but human plans are no match for heaven's; he probably never imagined there would be so many variables."
"He Zhengye's methods are ruthless enough," Chen Yu said coldly. "I think we can counterattack now."
"No need." He Lingyun smiled slightly and said calmly, "No matter how ruthless he is, he is ultimately my elder brother. He is unjust, but I cannot be unrighteous."
"The saddest thing in this world is for siblings to slaughter one another; this kind of thing, I cannot do."
"Then what happens after forcing him to retreat?" Chen Yu asked.
"If I am not mistaken, he must have the support of your maternal grandfather behind him." He Lingyun said calmly, "Once he is forced to retreat, he will lose his value for use, and from then on, he will never be able to pose a threat to me again."
"God Lord... that is my maternal grandfather? What exactly does he want to do?" A trace of anger appeared on Chen Yu's face.
"I don't know, let's wait and see." He Lingyun smiled. "Let's go, let's go sit at Xia Yue's place."
"Not going to the safe house?" Chen Yu was somewhat puzzled.
"Since they have a Plan A, they must have a Plan B. Now that Yu Jianhe has failed, if we go to the safe house, wouldn't that be walking right into a trap?" He Lingyun smiled. "We will go sit at Xia Yue's place and see just how much this Manager Xia knows."
In the suburbs, in a detached villa.
A young woman in her thirties with an excellent temperament was tutoring a seven or eight-year-old boy with his homework.
This woman, who appeared to be a young lady, was Xia Yue; her temperament and image were both top-tier. The little boy's brows and eyes resembled hers somewhat; clearly, this was her son.
Just at this moment, the sound of a doorbell rang outside. Xia Yue glanced at the monitor, her expression changed slightly, and then she hugged the little boy and said softly, "Lele, go rest for a while; Mommy is meeting a guest."
The little boy nodded obediently, put down the homework in his hands, and walked upstairs.
Xia Yue took a deep breath and opened the door, only to see He Lingyun, Mu Xi, and Chen Yu standing at the entrance.
"Manager He, why have you come?" Xia Yue feigned a look of surprise.
"Manager Xia, you should be clear in your heart why I have come here." He Lingyun smiled slightly. "I ran over in the middle of the night; don't you intend to invite me in to sit?"
"Manager He, please come in." Xia Yue hesitated for a moment, then invited He Lingyun inside.
"Let me introduce you; this is Chen Yu, my son." He Lingyun pointed at Chen Yu.
"Your... son?" Xia Yue was startled.
"Yes, the son I lost for decades, the son I always believed had left me seven days after birth. I have found him." He Lingyun smiled slightly, took Chen Yu's hand, and walked inside.
Xia Yue's expression was shocked; she took a deep breath and then followed He Lingyun inside.
Mu Xi kept her eyes on Xia Yue, ensuring she did not make any small moves.
"Your house here is quite nice; it's quite quiet and elegant." He Lingyun looked over the decorations and smiled lightly.
"I earned some money from stock trading in my early years, so I bought this villa. It was a judicial auction property; it was quite a good deal."
Xia Yue smiled forcedly. She knew that the He Clan audited the accounts of high-level staff very strictly. Although her income was high enough, it was still a bit of a struggle to afford the price of this Half-Mountain Villa.
"Manager Xia, don't misunderstand; I am not questioning the origin of your house." He Lingyun smiled.
"Manager Xia, where is your son, Lele?" Chen Yu raised his head and smiled.
The smile on Xia Yue's face stiffened instantly. She was unmarried and had never publicly claimed to have a son, yet Chen Yu knew even what her son was called. Clearly, these three visitors tonight were not here with good intentions.
Just at this moment, her son Lele walked down from upstairs. Seeing people in the room, he called out timidly, "Mommy."
"Lele, why did you come down?" Xia Yue's expression changed drastically, and she hurriedly ran over to hug the little boy.
"Manager Xia, there is actually no need to hide anything; we all know." Chen Yu said calmly.
"Yes, this is my son, and he is also He Zhengye's son." Xia Yue said sharply, "He Lingyun, if you have any issues, come at me; do not harm my son."
"I have never thought about harming anyone." He Lingyun sighed. "Manager Xia, just a moment ago, I was pursued and hunted by over ten mercenaries. My bodyguard Yu Jianhe rebelled, and over ten of my people are nearly dead."
"How could this be?" Xia Yue's expression changed greatly.
"If I said this was done by my elder brother He Zhengye, would you believe it?" He Lingyun looked up at Xia Yue.
"That's impossible. Zhengye's heart wouldn't be that ruthless; you are his sister." Xia Yue was shocked.
"Manager Xia, in your eyes, perhaps he is a good man." He Lingyun smiled. "But I have been his sister for over forty years; don't I know his character better than you do?"
"In order to obtain the He Clan, he can use any means to rise to the top. He can even discard his own sister, let alone someone else."
"What exactly do you want to say to me?" Xia Yue hugged her son tightly.
"Manager Xia, as far as I know, you want to rise to the top, right?" Chen Yu smiled. "Do you really think He Zhengye will divorce and marry you?"
