Chapter 969: This is the Four Thoughts
"Mingjue, Mingjue, you two stop killing people." Mingjue said: "They are just passersby, and you have food, why must you kill them all?"
"That's right, two Senior Brothers, you stop eating people, otherwise Master will be angry." The little monk also said.
"You two get out, if you didn't eat meat, you would have starved to death long ago. The meat of these two fat sheep must be very tender. Wait until I slaughter them both, chop up their bones and boil them into soup." Mingjue grinned hideously, and he rushed over carrying a bone-cleaving knife.
"I understand." Chen Yu looked at these few monks, his heart suddenly as clear as a mirror: "I know what you are."
"What are we? You know?" Mingjue looked at Chen Yu in surprise: "Are you alright, kid? Even I don't know what I am."
"You are the Heart Demon of Huipu." Chen Yu sneered and said: "You with the face full of flesh represent Desire, the fat and chubby Mingjue is called Greed, the Mingjue who looks terrifying but is actually a good person is called Thought, and this little monk is Truth."
"You represent the Seven Emotions and Six Desires of man: Desire, Greed, Thought, and Anger. The reason Huipu has been in seclusion for thirty years without appearing is entirely because he cannot discard his own Seven Emotions and Six Desires. Over time, they became a Heart Demon."
"You are indeed not things, because you aren't even human; you are merely four thoughts of Huipu. Humans have greed, even an enlightened high monk is no exception. He wanted to let go of nature and completely become a Demon, but his Thought and Truth were holding him back."
"You are nothing but things formed from the thoughts of Huipu. No wonder you are so difficult to deal with, because you are a mass of Qi." Chen Yu said.
"Brother Chen, they aren't human?" Yu Sichen asked in surprise.
"Not human. You can understand them as hallucinations, but the Divine Sense that can make me fall into a hallucination without knowing it is indeed powerful. Huipu is truly a high monk." Chen Yu put away the Lichen in his hand.
"What is this kid spouting nonsense about? I don't understand, forget it, kill him." Mingjue roared, rushed forward again, raised the bone-cleaving knife in his hand, and fiercely stabbed at Chen Yu.
Yu Sichen was startled and instinctively wanted to push Chen Yu away, but after that knife pierced into Chen Yu's body, Chen Yu did not suffer the slightest harm.
Instead, Mingjue, who was holding the knife, looked at Chen Yu's expression and began to feel a bit uncertain.
"You are merely a wisp of Heart Demon, a thing conjured from illusion, but do you really think you are invincible in the world?" Chen Yu stared at Mingjue and sneered: "Actually, you are nothing at all..."
The expression on Mingjue's face began to change. He suddenly let go, and the knife in his hand turned into a burst of ashes and disappeared without a trace. He staggered back a few steps, looking at Chen Yu with an expression of disbelief.
Suddenly, he let out a shrill roar, the expression on his face began to turn ferocious, his figure began to blur, and then he disappeared amidst the endless screaming.
And the Mingjue with the face full of flesh was also full of terror. His body began to gradually become transparent, and finally, amidst his screaming, he also disappeared.
"So, we don't exist after all." The little monk said thoughtfully.
"Right, actually we don't exist, we are just the thoughts of Master." Mingjue also nodded. The big and small monks smiled at each other and then disappeared into mid-air.
And at the very moment the two monks disappeared, everything before their eyes slowly vanished, and this cave also became dim and lusterless.
It could be seen that this was a dilapidated temple. This temple was the Daming Buddhist Temple, but the previously bright and beautiful temple had disappeared, replaced by a ruined Buddha hall.
The Buddha statue was already covered in dust and had lost its color, the wooden fish on the altar was riddled with holes, and everything appeared broken and desolate.
And on a mat that was already tattered before the Buddha statue, an old monk was kneeling.
The clothing on the old monk's body had almost completely vanished. He was as thin as a stick, his whole body covered in moss and dust. He had his hands pressed together, kneeling before the Buddha, seemingly thinking bitterly. He had maintained this posture for a very long time.
This old monk was Master Huipu. The four monks from just now were merely illusions transformed by his Heart Demon.
Even though he had sat in Bitter Zen for thirty years, he still had breath. The Supreme Heart Method of Buddhism allowed him to be like an old tortoise in hibernation; even after thirty years, he was still alive.
"The great dream... finally wakes." Huipu slowly opened his eyes, revealing an expression of neither sorrow nor joy.
The clothing on his body had decayed, but that Kasaya was a treasure that would not rot for a thousand years.
"Master Huipu." Chen Yu bowed slightly.
"Benefactor, I already know the purpose of your visit. Here is a copy of the Ksitigarbha Heart Sutra. This female benefactor has a Demon in her heart; by simply reciting this sutra often, the shackles of the inner Heart Demon can be undone."
Master Huipu stretched out his right hand, and a scripture book slowly appeared in Chen Yu's hand.
"Thank you, Master. Master has sat in this Bitter Zen for thirty years, have you gained any insights?" Chen Yu asked.
"Hehe, insights are not worth mentioning. The Heart Demon Tribulation at the final moment was never overcome, otherwise, I would not have used One Qi Transforms into Four Dharmas to conjure four thoughts and bring disaster to the world." Huipu sighed slightly: "It was just a dream, and in the end, it became empty. In this life, my Mind Power was insufficient, and I could not comprehend the Great Vehicle Dharma of Buddhism. I can only abandon this physical body, enter Reincarnation, and seek it again in the next life."
"Master, go in peace." Chen Yu felt some regret. Master Huipu was a person of great wisdom and an enlightened high monk, but even he could not overcome the Heart Demon Tribulation, and his entire cultivation was destroyed in an instant. This was enough to prove how terrifying the Heart Demon Tribulation was.
"Hehe, it is all just fate." Huipu smiled indifferently: "Benefactor is traveling west this time, surely to seek a heaven-sent treasure."
"Yes, can Master point out a clear path?" Chen Yu nodded, gazing at Huipu.
He indeed still needed to find the Snow Region Immortal Lotus to use for Chixiao's realm breakthrough. As long as she broke through to the second level of Dharma Cultivator, Entering the Dao, she would be able to attain divine abilities, but Chen Yu did not know where to find the Snow Region Immortal Lotus.
Moreover, this Huipu was indeed a person with great divine abilities; he knew everything Chen Yu was thinking.
"One hundred miles to the west, at the peak of the Snow Mountain. However, for Benefactor to go to the Snow Region to find the Immortal Lotus, you will encounter many setbacks. The future is unknown, and life and death are uncertain. Benefactor, you must be careful." Huipu smiled slightly.
"Thank you for your guidance, Master. I will be careful." Chen Yu nodded.
"Hehe, sitting bitterly for thirty years was nothing but a dream of a yellow millet. Bitter, yet fortunate." Huipu smiled slightly, then pressed his palms together.
A ray of Buddha Light surged from his body, and then his body turned into specks of light, immediately dissipating into mid-air.
