Chapter 2212 - 533: Saving the Uncle-in-Law 2
Today, the Beast Race held the upper hand.
While the human territories weren’t as infested with high-tier monsters as the Beast realms, the wilderness outside the fortified towns remained perilously lethal.
Even a martial artist in the Transcendence Realm wouldn’t dare to venture too deep into the wilds without caution.
The Yang family, it seemed, lived deep within these endless mountain ranges—no wonder their address was so well-guarded.
Wang Yue’s flight vehicle skimmed the jagged peaks.
To save time, he unleashed his aura, a crushing pressure that blanketed a radius of several kilometers.
Any powerful beasts lurking on the mountainsides immediately felt his presence and hunkered down in their dens, too terrified to even poke their heads out.
As the vehicle streaked through the air, the first two hundred kilometers passed in a blur.
When he was less than a hundred kilometers from the Yang family estate, a thunderous roar from up ahead caught his attention.
It came from a nearby peak, but unlike the silence he had left in his wake, this place was the stage for a massive, violent clash.
On one side was a human man wielding a longsword. On the other was a titan of a beast—a creature resembling a leopard, but stretching nearly ten meters in length.
The man appeared to be in his thirties, a typical look for high-level martial artists. He was no weakling, boasting a cultivation at the sixth level of the Transcendence Realm. His techniques were refined, giving him the combat prowess of a seventh-level expert.
Despite this, the man was losing—badly. The giant leopard-beast was overwhelming him, pinning him down with a barrage of strikes.
His body was already crisscrossed with deep, jagged lacerations from the beast’s claws. It was clear that within minutes, he would end up as leopard feed. He couldn’t even flee; felines were legendary for their speed and agility. If he couldn’t stand his ground, he certainly couldn’t outrun it.
Initially, Wang Yue had no intention of stopping.
As a martial artist, one had to take responsibility for their own actions.
If a man dared to venture into the deep woods alone, he had to be prepared to face the monsters that lived there.
Moreover, after finally narrowing down the Yang family’s location, his urge to rescue his second aunt had become an all-consuming fire. He didn’t want to waste a single second.
After one last, brutal exchange of blows, the man lost his footing. His defense crumbled, and he was left utterly defenseless.
Perhaps out of sheer defiance, or perhaps wanting to leave one last sound in this world, the man let out a grief-stricken roar: "Heaven is unjust! To think that I, Yang Lin, would die in a place like this!"
Wang Yue, who had already begun to fly past, suddenly stiffened.
The surname Yang? Could this man be one of them?
Thinking of the possibility, Wang Yue immediately changed his mind.
"Southeast" was a vague direction at best; even if he reached the general area, he would likely spend hours searching.
If this man was from the Yang family, having him as a guide would save a massive amount of time.
Wang Yue cut the engines of the flight vehicle, leaving it to hover in mid-air, while he leaped out and soared toward the peak.
At that exact moment, the giant leopard swiped the longsword out of the man’s hand and swung a second claw—lethal, obsidian talons aimed straight for the man’s throat.
If the blow connected, the man would be decapitated instantly. Not even a god could save him then.
The man closed his eyes, his True Qi exhausted and his physical strength spent. He was helpless.
In the depths of his despair, he heard a sharp, whistling sound, followed by a howl of agony from the beast.
The claw that had been inches from his throat jerked back as if struck by lightning.
A withered tree branch, no thicker than a thumb, had pierced straight through the center of the beast’s massive paw.
Wang Yue had arrived. Realizing he was too far to reach the man in time, he had casually snapped a dry branch from a passing treetop and hurled it with the force of a ballista bolt.
The searing pain sent the leopard into a frenzied rage. It didn’t even bother with its claws anymore; it unhinged its massive jaws, lunging to crush the human’s skull in one bite.
However, that split-second distraction was all Wang Yue needed. He landed behind the creature and grabbed its long, thick tail, yanking it back just as its teeth grazed the man’s hair.
The leopard, whose strength was comparable to the peak of the Transcendence Realm, possessed a high level of intelligence.
Feeling the titanic strength of the intruder behind it, it realized it was outmatched. Forgetting its kill, it let out a whimpering yelp and tried to bolt.
But Wang Yue didn’t play "catch and release."
With a sharp grunt, he tightened his grip. Using the leopard’s tail as a handle, he swung the ten-meter behemoth into the air, tracing a massive arc before slamming it violently into the ground.
BOOM!
The impact was so massive the entire mountain seemed to shudder.
The leopard was left dazed and broken, its eyes darting toward Wang Yue. Its ferocity had evaporated, replaced by a look that seemed to plead for mercy.
Wang Yue was not a man of "womanly compassion."
The Beast Race and the Human Race were in a state of absolute war. If he let this peak-Transcendence beast go, there was no telling how many humans would fall to its claws in the future.
He delivered a swift kick to the leopard’s head—which was larger than an exercise ball. A surge of potent True Qi blasted into its skull, instantly turning its brain into mush.
In a way, it was an act of mercy; at least it was quick.
With a thought, Wang Yue stored the massive carcass in his spatial ring. This was top-tier meat—leaving it here would be a waste.
Generally speaking, the stronger the beast, the more delicious the meat (unless it was naturally toxic).
A beast at the peak of the Transcendence Realm would likely taste better than the legendary Yangtze saury, and the energy contained in its flesh would provide a nice boost to a martial artist’s cultivation.
Of course, Wang Yue and his women didn’t really need such a boost. No monster meat or spirit pill could compare to the benefits of their Dual Cultivation.
"Thank you, Senior, for saving my life," the rescued man finally stammered, shaking off his shock.
Coming from a Sacred Land family, his vision was far greater than men like Wang Qing. Having seen Wang Yue strike, he knew instantly that he was looking at a Transcendence Realm powerhouse.
What truly shocked him was Wang Yue’s age. Judging by his bone structure, he looked to be less than twenty years old.
He had never even heard of a Transcendence master that young. He called him "Senior" not because of age, but out of respect for his cultivation—in the martial world, the one who attains the Dao first is the teacher.
Wang Yue ignored the honorific. He asked coolly, "Is your name Yang Lin?"
"It is," Yang Lin replied respectfully.
"Are you of the Yang family of the Sacred Lands?"
"I am. This junior hails from the Yang family," Yang Lin nodded again.
"Good." Wang Yue reached out and hoisted the man, who was too weak to even stand, and took flight. In the blink of an eye, they were back on the flight vehicle. "I happen to have business with the Yang family. You will show me the way."
