Chapter 818

What kind of person is Qin Feng?

A stubborn little prince, the type who wouldn't turn back even after hitting a brick wall.

He would insist on smashing that brick wall to pieces.

If it were because they didn't want Qin Feng to know, or because they didn't trust Qin Feng, and that was why they didn't tell him.

He absolutely would not continue to press the issue and make things difficult for Beigong Yun.

But now it is very clear that Beigong Yun does not distrust him, nor does he not want to tell him, but rather he does not want to implicate him.

To this, Qin Feng can only say that when encountering such interesting things, he has never been afraid of being implicated.

In fact, back when they separated outside the mist.

When the man in the black robe asked Qin Feng to find him in the Royal Capital, he had probably already made up his mind.

To drag Qin Feng into this whirlpool.

It was just that the man in the black robe did not let Qin Feng take the initiative to find him, but instead let Qin Feng hold this jade token and wait in the Royal Capital for him to come and find Qin Feng.

It was giving Qin Feng the freedom of choice.

To choose to get involved, or to stay far away from the whirlpool.

Originally, Beigong Yun's personality was not that of a very tough person.

Coupled with Qin Feng's repeated insistence.

Beigong Yun finally told the whole story.

The beginning of the matter came from a mischievous adventure.

The foolishness of a fifteen or sixteen-year-old youth bringing along a ten-year-old child.

There is a forbidden area at the back mountain of the Beigong family, which all family members are forbidden from entering.

Of course, outsiders shouldn't even think about entering.

As for why there could be a back mountain within the Beigong family grounds located in the Royal Capital.

That can only be said that the area of the Royal Capital is impressively large.

And even though the Beigong family's land proportion in the Royal Capital is not considered very large, the area is still extremely vast.

It is a very normal thing for the family's residence to have a few small hills; it's not like they have several mountain ranges.

But a rebellious youth and a child full of curiosity.

Sometimes, the more they are forbidden from entering a place, the more they want to enter.

The Beigong Yun and Beigong Shang of that year were in such a state of mind.

The sixteen-year-old Beigong Yun, together with his ten-year-old younger brother Beigong Shang, who was very close to him.

Secretly entered the forbidden area.

Logically speaking, the forbidden area should be full of traps.

They should have been attacked or discovered the moment they entered the forbidden area.

But strangely, the journey of the two of them entering the forbidden area could be considered smooth and unobstructed.

They did not encounter any traps, did not encounter any danger, and did not even encounter a trace of obstruction.

They passed through the path that was a life-and-death ordeal for outsiders smoothly and without obstruction.

Entering into the deepest part of the forbidden area.

And from that time on, their fates were completely changed.

"The Beigong clan is raising Earth Demons; they are courting death."

"But this death they are courting so well will drag the entire Mobis Kingdom down with them into a place of no return."

When Beigong Yun said this, his heart and eyes were full of pain, yet there was not a trace of regret.

"System, what is an Earth Demon?"

The root of everything should lie in this thing called an Earth Demon.

But Qin Feng naturally had never heard of it.

Ding-dong, the player has asked a question, and the system provides an answer.

【An Earth Demon is a type of demon beast from the Southern Frontier, which rarely appears in the Mobis Kingdom.】

【They live by relying on the earth. As long as they stand on the earth, they can absorb the power of the earth.】

【Their power is inexhaustible; as long as the earth still exists, they will not fail due to exhaustion.】

【But at the same time, the earth from which they absorb power will become parched, cracked, and eventually turn into a dead land.】

【However, they do not necessarily have to absorb the power of the earth to survive.】

【Eating demon beasts and humans can also provide them with the power for life and growth.】

【It is just that when fighting, absorbing the power of the earth can replenish their power more quickly.】

【Earth Demons are a greedy race; as long as the food they need is insufficient, they will absorb the power of the earth.】

【If humans raise them, they are still obedient when they are kept in captivity and have enough food.】

【But once released, they cannot be controlled and can only be left to wreak havoc at will.】

【In the Mobis Kingdom, once an Earth Demon is discovered, they must mobilize the entire nest and gather all their strength to exterminate the Earth Demon.】

【They absolutely do not allow Earth Demons to absorb power and grow.】

After hearing the system's explanation, Qin Feng also understood.

Why Beigong Yun and Beigong Shang were determined to go against their own family.

Even to the point of life-and-death.

Because they are both people with great righteousness in their hearts.

It's just...

"Such a big matter, you could have completely asked the Mobis royal family or people from other families for help. Why make things so difficult for yourselves?"

Beigong Yun being driven out must be because of something else.

If it were for this matter, Beigong Yun would definitely have been silenced, and the Beigong family would never have let him live until now.

"Ask for help? It's not just people from the Beigong family who are involved in this."

"The royal family and the other two major families all have people involved, but we don't know who is involved, so no one can be trusted."

"As for you. You are a pure outsider and cannot have any connection with anyone in the Royal Capital."

"Xiao Shang has also approved of you, which is why we wanted to pull you into our team."
