Chapter 214

【Video paused.】

【Buzzer-beater starts: What was the reason for Emiya Kiritsugu's passing?】

Emiya Kiritsugu: "!!!"

Irisviel: "Kiritsugu, died!"

Kayneth: "This is interesting; it should be several years after the Fourth Holy Grail War in the video. Could something else have happened?"

Waver: "Could it be Gilgamesh and the others?"

King of Heroes: "Hmph, this King has no interest in killing a walking corpse."

【Extra Feng Xi buzzed in successfully.】

Rin Tohsaka: "Hmm? You have the answer so quickly?"

Kayneth: "Damn, got used to discussing it for a moment and let this kid get a step ahead."

Extra Feng Xi: "I won't use your answers."

Extra Feng Xi: "My answer is that Emiya Kiritsugu died because of the curse of the Evil of This World."

【Answer correct, Extra Feng Xi obtains 3 Saint Quartz.】

Kayneth: "!!!"

Waver: "Oh, how did we forget about this?"

Tokiomi Tohsaka: "As an evil god, its curse is indeed not just talk."

Irisviel: "Kiritsugu also died, then Illya..."

Emiya Kiritsugu: "..."

【Video continues.】

【At the final moment of his life, Emiya Kiritsugu's memories began to flash back.】

【It had been 5 years since the end of the Fourth Holy Grail War.】

【After the Holy Grail War ended, he returned to the Einzbern family, wanting to take Illya away, but was refused by the patriarch, 'Jubstacheit von Einzbern'.】

【He already knew that Emiya Kiritsugu had ordered the destruction of the Lesser Grail and believed that Emiya Kiritsugu had broken their agreement and failed to bring back the Grail, so he refused Emiya Kiritsugu's request, didn't even let Emiya Kiritsugu see Illya, and drove him out of the castle.】

【Helpless, Emiya Kiritsugu could only return to Fuyuki City, take his adopted son Shirou Emiya, and settle down completely in the Emiya residence.】

【For many years, Emiya Kiritsugu tried to take Illya away, but never succeeded.】

【At the same time, Emiya Kiritsugu discovered that his body was heading toward death.】

【Physical weakness, atrophy of limbs, blurred vision, complete loss of magical ability.】

【It could be said that he was almost no different from a terminally ill patient.】

【Finally, let alone the castle, he couldn't even enter the forest barrier of the Einzbern grounds.】

【Emiya Kiritsugu understood that the curse of the Evil of This World had taken effect.】

【It wanted Emiya Kiritsugu to die in pain and regret.】

【But Emiya Kiritsugu did not do as it wished.】

【Emiya Kiritsugu, who returned to Fuyuki City, spent a long time searching and finally found the Great Hole where the Grail ritual was hidden in Mount Yuancang, using all he had learned to create a 'tumor' on the mountain.】

【This 'tumor' would take thirty to forty years to form, at which point it would destroy the Great Hole and completely end the Holy Grail War.】

【And the Holy Grail needs sixty years to fill up.】

【Without the Holy Grail War, Illya would no longer follow Irisviel's old path.】

【Finally, he stayed by Shirou Emiya's side and spent the last years of his life.】

【After confirming that Shirou Emiya would not follow his old path, Emiya Kiritsugu also welcomed death with relief.】

Kayneth: "..."

Kayneth: "Fine, Emiya Kiritsugu, I admire you."

Emiya Kiritsugu's actions of resisting even at the last moment of his life finally made Professor Kayneth change his view of him significantly.

Diarmuid: "Me too."

Lancelot: "Me too; you are a person worthy of respect."

Artoria: "Hmm."

Irisviel: "Kiritsugu, you..."

Emiya Kiritsugu: "It's okay, at the very least, I still protected Illya."

King of Heroes: "What a boring development."

Conqueror King: "Gilgamesh, say less."

Rin Tohsaka: "Wait a minute, this video isn't over yet."

【The scene shifts, and the date 2004 appears on the video.】

【Subsequently, the scene begins to change rapidly.】

【An older Rin Tohsaka is timing herself and beginning the summoning ritual in her attic.】

【"Summon quickly, otherwise I'll die."】

【Illya and Shirou Emiya pass each other, and she says softly.】

【Kirei Kotomine is threatening someone, with bloodstains on the ground.】

【The old worm watches a numb Sakura perform the summoning ritual.】

【Shirou Emiya is chased by an unknown figure, runs into his own warehouse, and falls right onto the summoning circle left by Emiya Kiritsugu.】

【A flash of light, and a figure blocks the attack, saving Shirou Emiya.】

【It is Artoria.】

【The screen goes black and displays a line of text.】

【The Fifth Holy Grail War, begins.】
