Chapter 497

【Suddenly, Svin seemed to have discovered something, lifting his chin to break the silence: "Over there, can you see it?"】

【"Mm-hmm, of course I can see it."】

【Flat narrowed his eyes and walked over, his palm suddenly approaching the ground, though not quite touching it, passing over it while maintaining a distance of a few centimeters.】

【"A barrier, wow, a very ancient style. Even inside the Clock Tower, it's rare to see such an ancient barrier nowadays."】

【Svin: "I'll leave the dispelling work to you."】

【Flat: "Alright, alright, 'Initiating intervention'!"】

【Flat rotated his fingers, intricately and exquisitely forming a certain pattern.】

【This was a hobby of his, not something required for casting the spell.】

【A few seconds later, a path leading into the forest appeared before the two of them, as if it had existed there all along.】

【Flat: "This is a cognitive-influence type barrier. There, observation complete, Game Over. Let's hurry."】

【Svin: "Now the rule about not being allowed to go to the swamp makes sense."】

【It wasn't because it would be troublesome if someone went to the swamp; it was because one couldn't reach the swamp to begin with.】

【Flat: "Ah, because it would be troublesome if someone discovered they couldn't reach the swamp, so they made a rule forbidding it? I see, that makes sense!"】

Rin Tohsaka: "This swamp really does hide something."

Waver: "However, the defense seems too lax; the barrier was broken through so easily."

Emiya Kiritsugu: "No, this first layer is likely just a facade to make people let their guard down, or perhaps it's just a simple warning."

Waver: "In other words, there's likely something very dangerous inside."

【The two walked along the path, but Flat, who was leading, stopped before they had gone very far.】

【"Oh my, there's more."】

【Svin: "The security is truly tight. Flat, judging by this scent, I think the guy approaching is a puppet, right?"】

【Flat: "Mm, it's an aggressive barrier that automatically counterattacks if you accidentally make contact! Because we broke through the first barrier, the opponent intends to kill the intruder."】

【Flat took action again, nimbly beginning to dispel the barrier.】
