Chapter 724

【Gray: "Then, what is the purpose of bringing this kind of thing into the labyrinth?"】

【"Bringing... gold coins... into the labyrinth..."】

【Waver mutters repeatedly for a while, and soon after blurts out: "That's it! The labyrinth, Albion is a labyrinth! A labyrinth is a type of magic, and breaking through a labyrinth is a kind of initiation ritual. Then, Heartless's intention toward the King is very clear..."】

【"Yes, that's right. Since he entered the great labyrinth of Albion with Faker, the shadow of the King, there is no other possibility."】

【"Damn it, why haven't I discovered this until now?"】

【Waver repeatedly asks and answers himself.】

【"Heartless is the Department Head of Modern Magecraft, so his most outstanding magic is obvious; the formulas he uses won't be extremely specialized, but rather, like Emiya's formulas, he only prepares what is needed for that purpose from the outside, without any redundancy, to the point of being annoying."】

【"Yes, the second motive for the crime, I know it, I know Heartless's purpose!"】

【Waver covers his face with one hand and says in a low voice: "But why? Why is that necessary?"】

【"No, as a magus, this is indeed a correct answer. However, that is merely a correct answer; Aozaki Touko would probably laugh if she knew."】

【"What we pursue is not that kind of thing; it shouldn't be. By the way, if Heartless's accomplice is in the Grand Resolution, does that accomplice also understand this purpose?"】

Tohsaka Rin: "What is he talking about, completely out of the blue?"

Caules: "What exactly did he discover from the gold coin? What faith? What labyrinth is a ritual?"

Kayneth: "... No way—"

Kayneth: "No, no, that's too ridiculous; how could there be such a crazy idea!"

Shishigou Kairi: "Oh, Lord, did you see something?"

Emiya Kiritsugu: "Speaking of faith, one thinks of gods. Heartless, could it be..."

Tohsaka Tokiomi: "Wanting to summon a god?"
