Chapter 101: Leave it to us
Not far from the Church.
"This is the place."
Lu Ying raised her hand, pointing at the Church ahead: "Underground!"
"Huh? Underground?" Yu Lin raised an eyebrow.
"How did you escape then?"
Lu Ying extended her hand: "Inside there is a tiny opening leading outside, they didn't notice, and then because........"
The next moment.
Her palm unexpectedly shrank at a visible speed, until it was nearly half its size!
"I discovered a few days ago that I can control my body to grow and shrink."
"That's why everyone covered for me, letting me go out to tell what's happening here.........."
"I don't know how everyone is........"
Turns out it's Heavenly Authority, pretty lucky.
Fate shouldn't end.
Yu Lin slightly nodded:
"Mm, it's fine, I'll go check now, you stand back."
He patted her shoulder, motioning her to wait behind him.
Next.
His gaze fell on the Church ahead:
"Old Dragon, I'm going to use the Cauldron."
Old Dragon waved his claw: "Don't ask me, use it as you like."
"You are the master of the Cauldron."
"Mm." Yu Lin nodded, the Ding Pattern on his chest faintly lit, an antiquated bronze glow flickering beneath his clothing.
"Go."
He said softly.
Before his words faded, a huge Great Cauldron appeared out of thin air above the Church..
Boom——!
An invisible pressure suddenly descended, as if an invisible giant hand slammed the whole Church down!
Bricks and stones shattered, wooden beams snapped, the cross on the steeple twisted and fell.
Dust shot up into the sky, then under the pressure was suppressed to within three feet of the ground!
Ruilier and Tanpulu's disheveled figures were thus exposed in broad daylight.
Until the dust was blown away by a gust, Yu Lin's figure appeared in their sight.
Behind him stood the dazed Yalina and Delun, plus Lu Ying hiding farther away, face full of shock.
"Yalina! Delun!"
Ruilier suddenly roared, his voice hoarse from anger:
"You two have become traitors?!"
Yalina and Delun's gazes were dazed, they gave no response to their companion's questioning.
Yu Lin stepped forward slowly, his soles making a faint sound on the gravel.
He looked down at the two Knights:
"Besides here, how many other places like this are there?"
Ruilier and Tanpulu sized up this unfamiliar Eastern youth.
"Who are you?" Ruilier asked through gritted teeth:
"I advise you to mind your own business! This is our affair, you Easterner, don't interfere!"
Tanpulu also forced himself to speak:
"The Bishop and the regiment leaders will be here soon... you still have time to leave now......."
Seeing they wouldn't speak, Yu Lin said no more, stride past them and headed for the steel door behind them.
The door's surface was densely carved with runes of unknown purpose.
As he approached, they lit up one after another.
"Stop!" Ruilier shouted:
"Those runes are defensive! Forcibly opening will trigger an explosion, everyone outside and inside will——
His voice cut off abruptly.
Only Yu Lin's hands suddenly glowed with blinding golden light, as if plated with pure gold.
Without hesitation he thrust his hands into the steel door; the runes that had lit up went out one by one the moment they touched the golden light.
Crack——
A grating metal twisting sound rang out.
Yu Lin strained his arms and actually wrenched the steel door free from its frame!
He tossed it aside; the steel door crashed to the ground, shaking the earth slightly.
Ruilier and Tanpulu stared, dumbfounded.
How did this guy manage that?!
In the smoke and dust, a deep staircase appeared before everyone, leading down into the unknown.
Faint, shrill cries echoed from the depths, making one's flesh creep.
"Back off!"
Just as Yu Lin was about to step into the Underground Passage, a squad of clergy clad in clerical robes burst from the darkness, quickly forming a formation to block the entrance.
They brandished SilverCrosses, their eyes ablaze with fanatical faith, staring intently at Yu Lin.
"This is a place consecrated to the Lord, not a place you may tread!" the leading middle‑aged clergy shouted harshly.
"If you insist on forcing your way in, you will be cast aside by the Lord after death and fall forever into Hell!"
The cross in his hand emitted a faint Holy Light, as if ready to strike at any moment.
Yu Lin looked at them and fell silent for a moment.
In their eyes there was no fear, only a near‑mad devotion.
They truly believed they were guarding the Holy Land, truly believing everything they did was for the Lord.
Even if the underground concealed the dirtiest experiments.
"Enough," Yu Lin said slowly, having completely run out of patience to argue with them.
"I truly have no patience to waste on idle talk with you any longer."
Before the words left his mouth, he raised his hand and swung—
Bang!
An invisible force erupted suddenly, crashing onto the group of clergy like a massive wave.
They barely had time to react before being violently hurled away, crashing heavily into the ruins dozens of meters away, spitting blood and collapsing unconscious!
Yu Lin did not continue forward.
He looked up at the Bronze Cauldron hovering in the air, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
"Since you refuse to let me go in and see…"
"Then I'll make everyone see clearly what you have hidden below."
He raised his hand, his fingertip aimed at the Bronze Cauldron, and made a light slash—
"Rise."
The cauldron suddenly burst with piercing blue light; as the radiance swirled, a vast power enveloped the entire land!
Rumble—!!!
The ground shook violently, the soil beneath the Church ruins roiling like sea waves, then—
the whole surface was ripped up forcefully!
Mud, rubble, bricks… everything was stripped away by the invisible force, revealing the darkness hidden below.
Then, a Hell‑like scene was fully exposed under the sunlight.
The Underground Laboratory was no longer concealed.
Rows of Iron Cages were arranged like livestock pens, each cage containing a ragged, shivering person.
Most were gaunt, their skin covered with festering wounds; some limbs were grotesquely twisted, as if forcibly grafted or altered.
In the cage nearest the edge, an East‑facing man had his limbs bound by iron chains; his chest was cut open, the organs inside replaced with some glowing mechanical device that still pulsed faintly.
He was not yet dead, his eyes half‑open, a wheezing "ho… ho…" emanating from his throat, yet he could no longer form complete syllables.
In the adjacent cage, an Indian girl had a pair of bird wings sewn onto her alive, feathers fused with flesh, and maggots crawling over the rotting wound.
Her gaze was hollow, muttering her hometown's language, as if praying and lamenting.
Deeper down, several Iron Cages held forcibly spliced Experimental Subjects—a creature with a human head and dog body, a "Spider‑Man" whose limbs were stretched and twisted, and even a "Blood Corpse" stripped of skin and muscle, exposed to the air.
Most were already mentally incoherent, instinctively huddling and trembling in the corners.
"You damned…!" Dragon Lord's dragon‑like whiskers bristled, his eyes ignited with raging fury.
At that moment, Lu Ying, standing far behind, ran over.
She looked at the scene inside, covered her mouth, and tears streamed down uncontrollably.
She trembled, pointing to the far‑corner cages: "Th‑there… those were the ones taken with me…"
Yu Lin followed her gaze—
In three relatively "clean" cells, more than twenty disheveled men and women were packed.
The experimental markings indicated they were not slated for use in experiments tomorrow.
Most were Chinese, bearing no obvious external injuries, yet each eye was filled with terror.
When sunlight suddenly poured in, they scrambled to the corners like frightened animals; some even wet themselves, urine streaming across the floor.
Yu Lin covered her eyes and whispered, "Enough, don't look."
"Leave it to me and Dragon Lord."
