Chapter 229: I know who it is

~6 min read 1,145 words

Not good!

Thor's hammer is missing!

After staying in Asgard for half a year.

Shi Koudi rushed into Yu Lin's dwelling in a hurry, grabbed the shoulder of Yu Lin who was lying on the recliner, and shook him hard:

"This hammer is the most effective against giants; now that it's gone, if the giants launch a counterattack, it will be disastrous!"

"Ares, are you listening?"

"Yes, you let go of me first." Yu Lin opened his eyes, let her release him, then got down from the chair:

"Where is Thor now?"

Shi Koudi pointed to Loki's house in the distance:

"He thinks Loki stole it, so he went to confront Loki."

"Shall we go check?"

"Hmm." Yu Lin nodded, and they walked toward Loki's residence together.

But Luoqi's voice came from beside his ear:

"How could Mjölnir be stolen? Are you sure Thor didn't do it on purpose?"

"Do you believe it? Anyway, I don't."

"I can't imagine how this hammer could be stolen."

Yu Lin shrugged: "Who knows?"

"Maybe it's meant to teach the thief a lesson."

"Let's go see first."

A moment later.

Inside Loki's castle, a loud shout echoed throughout Asgard:

"Did I do it? When have I ever not admitted to something I did?!"

"If it wasn't you, then who was it? Only you have this ability!"

"Thor, is your head filled with shit?!"

Loki's anger far surpassed Thor's.

But it wasn't because he was framed; it was because the prank of stealing Thor's hammer was preempted by someone else.

"Damn guy, you did it, what will he do next?!"

"Stealing the job, right?!"

He also resented himself, wondering why he hadn't thought of such a great idea earlier.

Thor, seeing him even angrier than himself, couldn't help but mutter, "Could it really not be him?"

"Then who?"

"Who exactly stole his......"

"I know who it is."

A male voice came from behind.

It made Loki and Thor turn toward the source of the voice.

Two figures.

One was Yu Lin, the other Shi Koudi.

"Ares, do you know who it is?" Thor frowned and asked.

Yu Lin nodded: "Yes."

"Who?"

"The Giant King—Suo Lie Mu."

"Is it him?! How did you find out?"

Thor's face showed deep doubt.

If it were Shi Koudi, the Goddess of Fate who can prophesy the future, he would unconditionally believe it.

But now Yu Lin's identity is merely that of a heroic spirit, so he naturally doubts.

Yu Lin gave a mysterious smile: "Just go investigate and you'll find out."

"Isn't that easy for you?"

Hearing that, Thor thought it made sense, and immediately headed out, saying:

"If what you say is true, I'll remember this favor."

"I'm going to ask Fuleiya for her hawk feather cloak, transform into a hawk, and go scout."

Seeing him leave, Loki immediately followed:

"Wait, I'm coming too!"

The two left and soon disappeared from sight.

Shi Koudi looked at Yu Lin in surprise: "Ares, how did you know?"

"Can you also prophesy?"

Yu Lin certainly wouldn't say what he said had already happened; he just casually brushed it off:

"I guessed."

"Aren't you afraid Thor will discover you lied to him and then come after you?"

"No worries, let's not talk about this—what do you want to eat today?"

"Okay, today I want to eat........."

The land of the giants, Jotunheim.

This land, shrouded in gloom year-round, has mountains as steep and jagged as a giant's backbone.

Thick ice and snow cover the black rocks, and the air reeks of a pungent mix of sulfur and snow.

Massive icicles hang from the cliffs, glowing with a faint blue light in the dimness.

A huge hawk circles in the gray sky, its sharp golden eyes scanning the ground below.

A huge hawk circles in the gray sky, its sharp golden eyes scanning the ground below.

The hawk tilted its head and spoke to the figure on its back:

"Loki, you're good at disguises—please go down and check."

"All right." Loki didn't refuse, agreeing readily.

He leapt lightly from Thor's back, and upon landing he transformed into a burly giant—after all, he was of pure giant blood, only later becoming brothers with Aoding and joining Asgard.

Using his superb disguise and trickery, Loki easily infiltrated the castle.

He cozied up to a giant who appeared to hold high rank, plying him with strong drink until he was roaring drunk.

Then his seductive voice sounded in the giant's ear:

"Lieda, my friend."

"Have you heard that Thor's stupid hammer was stolen? Do you know anything about this?"

Lieda rubbed his face and snorted, "Of course."

"The king merely used a little trick and stole that hammer!"

"What giant-slayer? In my opinion, it's nothing special!"

"You didn't know? The king had me and a few others bury the hammer underground—right here!"

"Very good, Lieda, my friend—now you should go to sleep." Having gotten the answer he wanted, Loki immediately plied him with more drink, knocking him completely unconscious on the ground.

He then immediately went underground, and soon discovered a hidden chamber—the hammer was indeed there!

But the chamber was protected by a powerful seal; he could not enter to retrieve it, so he had to retreat for now.

After returning to Thor's side, Loki reported:

"I've found out—it was him who took it! It's underground!"

"But there are strong seals blocking the way, so I can't help you get it out."

"Really him?!" Thor exploded in rage upon hearing this.

He immediately shot downward, his massive body smashing through the castle's roof, and amid flying debris he appeared before Suolimu.

"Did you steal my Mjölnir?!"

Thor glared at the Giant King, lightning flashing in his eyes, his voice shaking the entire castle.

Suolimu sat upon a massive obsidian throne, his stature as towering as a mountain.

He wore an ice-crystal crown, his beard like steel needles, his huge eyes like burning coals, glittering with a cunning light.

His thick arms were covered in heavy bronze vambraces, each finger bearing a ring set with sapphires.

Seeing Thor suddenly appear, he wore a smug expression, his massive hand lightly stroking the throne's armrest:

"I did it—what of it? You not satisfied?"

Suolimu's voice rolled like thunder through the hall, shaking the torches on the walls.

He threw his head back and laughed, his laughter full of mockery:

"Hahaha! The so-called giant-slayer Thor can't even guard his own hammer!"

He slowly rose, his huge frame nearly touching the hall's crossbeam: "Your precious hammer now lies in my treasury, sleeping soundly!"

Thor clenched his fists in anger at those words, but he wasn't foolish; seeing the situation unfavorable, he immediately asked:

"What must I do to get my Mjölnir back?"

Suolimu looked down at Thor, a flicker of teasing in his eyes: "Want it back? You can, but——"

"Give me Fuleiya in exchange!"
