Chapter 256: The Method Descends to the Mortal World

As for the realms of the Immortals.

Heavenly Immortal, Divine Immortal, Earth Immortal, Human Immortal, Ghost Immortal.

Currently, the single Qi cultivation path has not yet reached the great realm of "Becoming a Celestial Being," so saying that the other realms have already attained Human Immortal is not an exaggeration—it is merely a matter of strength.

Earth Immortals simply have an extra non‑death realm beyond the Grand Void, live longer than those of the Grand Void, and their combat power is roughly comparable to the Grand Void.

Divine Immortals, however, are different.

Five Qi converge to the origin, three Yang gather at the apex, the achievement overwhelms the form, the fetal Immortal self‑transforms, yin is exhausted and yang pure, a body beyond the body.

It is precisely the state of a perfectly complete Qi cultivation path, which is the realm Yu Lin attains when he reaches the Grand Void and obtains the Yang Deity.

As for Heavenly Immortals: 【Earth Immortals tire of dwelling in the mortal world, practice incessantly, and achieve transcendence, thus they are called Divine Immortals.

Earth Immortals grow weary of residing on the Three Islands and preach to the Human World; they have achievement on the Dao and conduct in the Human World, and when their deeds are fulfilled, they receive a heavenly book to return to Dong Tian, which is called a Heavenly Immortal.】

In other words, a Heavenly Immortal is an Earth Immortal who preaches to the Human World and establishes merits, and after his deeds are complete, is officially enfeoffed by the Heavenly Court.

If an Earth Immortal chooses austere cultivation to transcend, he becomes a Divine Immortal; if he chooses the path of merit and teaching, he becomes a Heavenly Immortal.

Two paths.

Above Heavenly Immortals?

Originally there were no higher realms, which left the many Heavenly Immortals bored, lacking ambition, and often causing trouble, wishing to descend to the Human World to travel.

Haotian Shangdi, together with the Three Purities and Sanshi Fo, joined forces to create the Golden Immortal realm, providing the multitude of Immortals a further path forward.

It is extremely difficult to achieve, but if one can, it is good.

Given the near‑infinite lifespan of the Immortals, the harder it is to attain, the better; this way their endless immortal journey will not be dull and they will have something to do.

The method Lao Jun passed to Yu Lin can cultivate to this realm.

Having become a Golden Immortal, finding the supreme path of attainment becomes much easier.

When he eventually merges the various mythic systems into one… that will be spoken of later.

"Thank you, Lao Jun, for granting the method!"

"Ah, no need, it's merely an exchange; I still have to refine elixirs, so I won't keep the young friend any longer."

"Very well, I also have matters to attend to, farewell!"

Yu Lin bade farewell to Lao Jun and left the Douluo Palace.

He mounted his cloud steed, preparing to fly toward the Southern Heavenly Gate to return to the Human World.

He saw a fairy, lively and charming, standing atop the clouds, dressed in a seven‑colored rainbow robe, her face exquisitely beautiful as if she had gathered all the ethereal elegance of heaven and earth; her brows bore a hint of innocent naiveté and a trace of nurtured liveliness, celestial aura swirling around her, making her skin whiter than snow and her grace unparalleled.

Seeing Yu Lin pause, the fairy gave a graceful bow, her voice like pearls striking a jade plate, clear and pleasant: "Little Seven salutes the young master."

Yu Lin understood and returned a bow: "So you are the Seventh Princess."

A suitably puzzled expression appeared on his face as he asked, "May I ask why the Seventh Princess stops me here?"

"Young master, I have been staying in this Jiu Chong Tian for far too long; day after day I only see cloud‑sea immortal palaces, and it makes me unbearably bored. I have long wanted to descend to the Human World to see its scenery."

Her beautiful eyes looked expectantly at Yu Lin: "Just now I saw you seemed about to go to the Human World, so I took the liberty to ask—could you do me a favor and take me down with you?"

"I promise, just to look around and have a little fun, then I'll return!"

Hearing this, Yu Lin waved his hand grandly: "No problem."

"Then just follow me."

"Young master, aren't you afraid my father will cause you trouble?"

The Seventh Fairy Maiden stood beside Yu Lin, flying with him toward the Southern Heavenly Gate, asking with a curious expression.

Yu Lin shook his head: "Not afraid."

"Why?"

"I have three advantages."

He raised three fingers and said solemnly:

Only the place he returned to was not in front of Jingyun Mountain.

The Seventh Fairy Maiden heard this, thought Yu Lin was right, and immediately nodded in agreement: "Young master, you have thought this through; I will cast the spell now."

Her body was surrounded by a faint flicker of Immortal Light, and her face and figure began to change; moments later, the image of a pretty, charming peasant girl appeared before them.

Though not as breathtaking as before, she was still uniquely lovely.

"Young master, does this work?" the Seventh Fairy Maiden asked softly.

Yu Lin stroked his chin, examined closely, and shook his head:

"Not enough, make it uglier."

The Seventh Fairy Maiden blinked, and cast the spell again as instructed.

This time, the skin on her face became slightly rough, the eyebrows grew thicker, the nose flattened a bit, turning her into a girl who would not stand out in a crowd.

"How about this?" she asked, a little uncertain.

Yu Lin still shook his head: "Even uglier."

The Seventh Fairy Maiden pursed her lips, seemed resolved, and the Immortal Light flowed again.

This time, her complexion grew even more coarse and dull, her features became somewhat crooked; overall, she fell below the average appearance of women of this era, even uglier.

"Hmm… Young master, this… okay?" she asked softly, with a hint of nervousness.

The term "Golden Immortal" originates—

From the *History of the Song*·Biographies of Emperor Huizong: (Spring, first month of the fourth year of Zhenghe) on the day Wu Yin, an edict: "Buddhism returns to Daoist streams… men are titled Cheng Clan Lang, Shouzhi Lang; women are titled Deshi, Ayi; temples are called palaces, courtyards are called monasteries, monks are Deshi, nuns are Nüde, and practitioners are called Golden Immortals."

After the Song and Yuan periods, it was absorbed into Daoism and merged within it.

Therefore I set it as a realm founded jointly by Haotian, the Three Purities, and Sanshi Fo.

Da Luo refers to the Great Luo Heaven, the highest heaven.
