Chapter 607: You still like dressing as a woman, huh?
Loki admitted he was a despicable guy, so he decided to take revenge on them!
For example...... kill the one they like and love, that guy Bader!
Why does he get everyone's liking? That guy is obviously arrogant and conceited!
Damn it!
So.
He began searching, searching for something that could harm Bader!
"Is there really no way?"
Loki stood on a bald mountain peak, wind pouring in from all directions, making his robes rustle.
He had stood here for a long time, so long that the rocks under his feet were marked with two shallow footprints from his steps.
He searched everywhere in the Nine Realms.
The high skies of Asgard, the deep seas of Vanaheim, the forests of Alfheim, the mines of Svartalfheim.
He crossed every iceberg in Jotunheim, waded through every underworld river in Heerhaimu, scorched his cloak's edges in the flames of Musi Beierheim, and froze his fingers in the icy mist of Nifu'er Haimu.
He even went to Midejierte, the place where mortals live.
But.
All things swore oaths, all things kept their oaths. No exceptions, no loopholes, not the slightest opening.
Loki crouched down, crouching between those two footprints.
The sea of clouds surged and flowed, dyed gold-red in the evening glow, like a vast expanse of burning blood.
"Really none? If that's the case............"
He muttered to himself.
Damn.
He didn't believe it! He didn't believe Fu Li Jia could make everything swear oaths.
That woman, she couldn't possibly cover every detail, couldn't be watertight, couldn't possibly scour every corner of the Nine Realms clean!
She must have missed something, there must be something that didn't swear an oath, there must be something that can harm Bader!
He just hasn't found it yet!
Thinking this, Loki stood up.
He decided to ask Fu Li Jia herself.
Of course, not by normal means.
He decided to start deceiving.
Leaping down from the mountain peak, he landed in a pine forest, pulled a gray cloak from his bosom, shook it open, and draped it over his shoulders.
That cloak's texture was peculiar, as if woven from mist, light and airy.
He pulled up the hood, covering half his face.
His form began to change, bones contracting, muscles reorganizing, features twisting.
In just a few breaths, an old woman stood in the pine forest, stooped, leaning on a cane, her face covered in wrinkles.
Loki lowered his head to look at his hands—gaunt, veins bulging, dirt still lodged under his nails.
He nodded in satisfaction, about to step forward——
"You still like dressing as a woman, huh."
A voice came from beside, unhurried, with a hint of nonchalant amusement.
"Huh?"
Loki's movement froze.
He kept the posture of stepping, one leg lifted in midair, then slowly turned his head.
Yu Lin leaned against a pine tree, hands in his pockets, watching him.
No one knew when he arrived or how long he'd stood there; not a single pine needle clung to his clothes.
The corner of his mouth twitched slightly, as if he were watching something amusing.
Loki's face flushed red.
He yanked off the hood in one motion; the old woman's face twisted and melted away like a tide, revealing the sharp-featured, somewhat sinister face beneath.
Arms crossed, chin slightly raised: "What? Do you have any objections?"
He paused, then added:
"Or are you here to persuade me to stop?"
"No." Yu Lin shook his head.
He stepped out from under the tree, standing before Loki, only a few steps apart.
"I won't stop you."
"After all, what I intend to do can only begin after you finish what you're doing."
Loki's eyebrows furrowed:
"What are you going to do?"
"Well..." Yu Lin thought, "you guess?"
"You guess whether I guess or not?"
"You guess whether I guess whether you guess or not?"
"You guess I guess—" Loki's mouth opened halfway, then closed.
He stared at Yu Lin, Yu Lin also stared at him, they locked eyes for a moment.
Loki was the first to look away, muttering: "Alright, let's not talk about it."
He readjusted his cloak, pulled the hood down, covering most of his face.
That face turned back into the appearance of an old woman.
"Since you won't advise me," his voice came from beneath the cloak:
"Then just wait and watch the show!"
He turned, walked toward the edge of the pine forest, took two steps, then stopped and called back:
"This time, don't follow me!"
"You bastard!"
As the words fell, his figure vanished into the shadows of the pine woods.
Yu Lin stood where he was, not pursuing.
He simply stood quietly, watching that direction.
Perception spread out like water, flowing over the pine forest, over the hills, over rivers and fields, over the Golden Palace and the Hall of Heroic Spirits, finally stopping before the gate of Fensaril.
Loki stood there.
Fensaril lies on the western side of the Golden Palace, perpetually shrouded by a silver‑white mist storm.
Fu Li Jia's palace, also called the Palace of the Mist Sea.
The walls are built of the purest white marble, silver vines coil around the colonnades, petals drift gently in the wind, covering the stone steps.
Loki stood at the door, raised his hand, lowered it, raised it again, and lowered it again.
On the third raise, his fingers finally touched the door handle.
The sound of the bronze ring striking the door panel echoed through the mist.
The door opened.
Fu Li Jia stood at the doorway, her gaze gentle:
"Elder," she said, "have you come looking for me?"
Obviously.
She did not see through Loki's disguise.
Loki lowered his head, making his voice hoarse, aged, pitiful:
"Madam,"
"I heard you made all things swear not to harm your son; is that true?"
"It is true."
"All things have sworn? All of them?"
"Fire, water, wind, earth, metal, trees, stone, disease, poison, beasts, birds, serpents, crawling beasts— all of them? Not a single one missed?"
"No, there is one thing that hasn't sworn; it is too weak, and I don't think it can harm Bader."
Loki's eyes lit up, he said deliberately:
"Is it the stars? If so, indeed........."
"No, it's a Mistletoe."
