Chapter 653: Fusing the Primal Source

~7 min read 1,220 words

Yu Lin, however, had no interest in watching Atum release himself.

At the moment the disturbance spread, he left.

That patch of chaos was still churning, Atum's roar still echoed in the void, waves still struck the hill, but he could no longer hear it.

His form dissipated from the beginning of creation and recondensed on the sofa in the room.

The living room was very quiet.

Long Ye and the others were away, the computer was off, and the screen was pitch black.

Lao Jun wasn't there either, the guest room door was open, and the blankets were neatly folded.

The curtains were half-drawn, and the evening light streamed in from outside, spreading a layer of orange-red across the floor.

He glanced at the time.

This time he had directly left four years behind!

It seems he really stayed there a long time, in a place without any concept of time...... forget it.

Yu Lin leaned back on the sofa, closed his eyes, and summoned the fish in his mind.

The fish leapt from his brow, hovered in midair, and its tail swayed gently.

Its scales shimmered in the light, each one like a frozen starry sky, or a world unto itself!

Yu Lin reached out, touching a scale with his fingertip.

That scale flashed, and a clump of chaotic light rose from beneath it, landing in Yu Lin's left palm.

That clump of light had no fixed color—sometimes pure white, sometimes pure black, sometimes variegated, like a rainbow that had been crushed.

Its aura was boundless, like an abyss, like a vault, like something older than the world and more ancient than time.

This was the primal source of Heavenly Central.

Yu Lin's fingertip then touched a second scale.

That scale also flashed, and a clump of golden light rose from beneath it, landing in Yu Lin's right palm.

That clump of light was pure and scorching, like molten iron freshly taken from a furnace, so hot the air twisted.

Its aura was not chaotic like Heavenly Central's, but it was fiercer and more fierce!

Ra's primal source.

Yu Lin cradled Heavenly Central in his left hand and Ra in his right, watching them throb in his palms.

The auras of the two primal sources collided in the living room, and the walls began to tremble slightly.

A thought suddenly popped into his head.

What would happen if they were mixed together?

He said, "Let's do it," and did it.

He clasped his hands together, squeezing the two primal sources into one.

It was exactly at this moment!

Behind Yu Lin appeared countless phantoms of the Gray-White World.

They layered upon each other, extending from the floor to the ceiling, from the ceiling to the walls, from the walls to the sky outside the window.

Each world was a sheet of gray-white, devoid of color and vitality, like a specimen soaked in formalin!

Some worlds were huge, occupying an entire wall; others were tiny, no bigger than a fingernail.

Their edges were blurred, their outlines loose, as if they might dissipate at any moment.

The primal source of Heavenly Central shifted left, Ra's primal source shifted right—they repelled each other.

Yu Lin tightened his grip a little.

The two primal sources were compressed, deforming, their flattened edges pressing together.

Then they began to heat—not from a rise in temperature, but from a deeper essence grinding intensely.

The Gray-White Worlds behind Yu Lin began to tremble.

Those loose world-phantoms, in the trembling, drew tight, their edges sharpening, outlines hardening, as if being remolded by something!

Yu Lin's hand continued to tighten.

The edges of the two primal sources began to permeate each other!

Heavenly Central's Chaos Color seeped into Ra's Golden Radiance, and Ra's Golden Radiance seeped into Heavenly Central's Chaos Color!

Repulsion turned into tearing, tearing turned into entanglement.

Color began to spread......

Thus.

The Gray-White Worlds behind Yu Lin began to acquire color.

The nearest world lit up with a faint red, like the blush on the horizon before dawn—bright yet not quite.

The adjacent world lit up with a swath of blue, the deep‑sea kind, heavy and profound.

The distant world lit up with a small, pale patch of green—truly green, like the hue of the first spring leaf just pushing out its tender shoot.

The next moment.

Anomalies began to appear in the living room.

Shadows of mountains and rivers appeared on the walls, different from the real ones.

They were something more abstract.

The mountains' outlines wandered between the bricks, the rivers' curves meandered across the wall.

A starry sky appeared on the ceiling, stars twinkling in the plaster's grain, now bright now dim, as if someone on the other side were breathing.

The floor turned transparent; beneath it lay clouds, the sky, yet...... also an unfathomable earthly abyss!

The whole room was transforming, as if it had been swept into some higher‑dimensional existence!

The Gray-White World behind Yu Lin lit up one after another.

Red, blue, green, gold, purple, orange—they were no longer gray-white illusions, but vivid, flowing, vibrant worlds!

Mountains and rivers gained color, rivers gained luster, the sky gained light-and-dark changes!

Those world illusions that were once shaking and about to fall became solid, their edges no longer blurred, their outlines no longer loose; they stood there, like great trees rooted in the void.

Finally.

Yu Lin's palms closed together!

The two clumps of origin completely merged into one, forming a single Scale.

The Scale was not big, just enough to rest in the palm of his hand.

Its color was none of any known color, yet it contained all the colors of the world.

The red part flowed, like lava, like blood; the blue part settled, like the deep sea, like the night sky; the green part grew, like spring sprouts, like grass after rain; the gold part burned, like the sun, like a furnace.

The white part drifted, like clouds, like mist, like a dream that could be blown away with a breath.

And there were those indescribable colors—black not black, purple not purple, orange not orange—they intertwined, overlapped, and separated on the Scale's surface like countless endless rivers!! 、

"Hmm, kind of interesting."

Yu Lin snatched the fish out of the void.

The fish struggled twice in his hand and then stilled.

"Good, this should be the place."

He held up the Scale, brought it to the fish's back, and compared them.

Aligning with the position of the second Scale, he pressed down.

As the Scale embedded, it emitted a clear ringing sound.

The size was just right, the shape just right, the edge's curvature just right, as if it were meant to grow there originally.

The Scale on the fish's back flickered briefly.

Yu Lin gazed at that Scale, his eyes calm.

"Like that…" he said softly.

He stuffed the fish back into his brow.

The fish burrowed beneath the skin and vanished.

Yu Lin stood up, stretched, and his joints cracked a few times.

He walked toward the door, pushed it open, and the evening wind poured in from outside, carrying the scent of soil from the flowerbed downstairs and the aroma of dishes drifting from a distant restaurant.

"Never mind. It's break time now."

He walked into the hallway, and the door closed softly behind him.
