Chapter 97: Conduct an Experiment
"Are you talking about this?"
Jonathan took out the Silver Coin, saw Van Helsing looking solemn, and explained:
"It was a gift from Mr. Dracula."
"What's the matter?"
On the side.
Yu Lin, who was eating a sandwich, stopped, turned his head toward Jonathan.
Dracula?
Listen again.
He took a bite of the sandwich and chewed slowly.
Van Helsing turned around, rummaged in his Backpack for something, and after a moment also took out a Silver Coin.
It was a Silver Coin very similar to the one in Jonathan's hand, but on closer inspection it was still different.
"This one I obtained when I took a commission to go to Romania to kill a Vampire."
"Later I studied it and found that Vampires often like to use this kind of Silver Coin for transactions."
"Especially... yours."
He came to Jonathan's front, took Jonathan's Silver Coin, and placed them together for comparison:
"Your one bears the Royal family's seal; although it makes no difference to us, to Vampires this one can equal a hundred hundred of mine!"
"And that's not all; you can even use this Silver Coin to trade for a chance to have a Royal vampire do a task for you!"
"Of course, provided you can find them."
"Leaving those aside, are you sure it was Mr. Dracula who gave it to you?"
Jonathan listened to his explanation, was surprised, and immediately nodded: "Of course."
"You know, Mr. Dracula is Romanian, and a noble over there."
"So I don't think it's strange that he possesses these Silver Coins."
Hearing that, Van Helsing couldn't help but picture the scene of Dracula holding a Blessed silver artifact that day, his doubts eased a bit, and he thought he should find other ways to test further.
After all, that day he had overheard Satan and Yu Lin's conversation.
An aura familiar enough to make Satan feel it must be strong; perhaps it could temporarily ignore the effect of the Blessed silver artifact...
Van Helsing suppressed his thoughts, gave Jonathan a slight nod, and said: "You have a point."
"I suggest you keep this Silver Coin hidden, so others don't see it; otherwise who knows who might develop ill intentions..."
He did not continue.
But Jonathan was no fool; knowing what he meant, he nodded and said: "Alright, I understand."
"Thanks for the warning."
"No thanks needed." Van Helsing turned and returned to his seat.
But as soon as he sat down, Yu Lin's words made him jump up:
"Dracula is a Vampire."
"Hm?!"
The three all looked at Yu Lin, their eyes asking, as if saying, "How do you know?"
Yu Lin drank the last sip of coffee, spread his hands and said:
"I don't know how he became a Vampire, but he is a Vampire."
"If you don't believe it, you can ask Satan."
Van Helsing and the others: "..........."
"You think we're you? Just because you ask Satan, you think you can get an answer?"
But... since he said so, it should be correct.
Van Helsing and Feiluo decisively chose to believe Yu Lin, while Jonathan, who had spent many days with Dracula, shook his head:
"Impossible, how could Mr. Dracula be a Vampire?"
"He can walk in sunlight and isn't afraid of silver artifacts."
"He even went to the Church for worship yesterday!"
"Tell me, which of these points is not feared by Vampires?"
He frowned, his face serious and angry.
"Jonathan, don't get worked up yet." Feiluo, seeing his anger, quickly soothed: "Yu Lin says that, there must be a reason."
"You might not know."
"Yu Lin once refused Satan's invitation, and Satan also said there is an aura he's familiar with in London!"
"An aura that makes him feel familiar... who knows what methods could evade those Exorcism techniques!"
"Yu Lin, can you explain to us?"
He looked at Yu Lin.
Yu Lin thought for a moment, took off the Silver Coin around his neck, stood up, and handed it to Jonathan:
"You can take this Silver Coin of mine to test, and see what reaction Dracula has when he gets it."
"Since ordinary Blessed silver artifacts don't work, this Silver Coin that Jesus himself touched should be useful, right?"
Jonathan looked at the Silver Coin he was handed, plain and unremarkable, missing a corner, not knowing when that happened.
"Will it really work?"
He took the Silver Coin with doubt and said: "Alright, I'll give it a try."
"But I don't think this will work on Mr. Dracula."
Yu Lin shrugged: "Hope so."
"Alright, I'm going out for a stroll."
"You guys chat about other things."
He waved his hand, turned, and walked outside.
Watching his retreating figure as he walked out.
Jonathan turned his head to ask Feiluo: "Feiluo, how did you meet this Easterner?"
"I don't like him."
"My friend, he means no harm." Feiluo patted his shoulder and smiled.
"Yu Lin is a good person; at least I think he's a good person who truly embodies the knight spirit."
"Think about it, someone who even wants to befriend Satan will surely be able to go to heaven, right?"
"Don't hold hostility toward him just because he doubted your employer; maybe he's actually saving your life."
"If you don't believe him, can you believe me?"
Jonathan nodded and said, "Alright, I believe you."
"Then let's not talk about that."
"I came here to ask you to take on a commission."
Feiluo raised an eyebrow: "Oh? What commission? A demon or something?"
"Neither." Jonathan took out a piece of paper from his pocket, handed it to Feiluo, and said in a low voice.
"I and Mr. Dracula passed through a small town three days ago; I originally thought it was just an ordinary, unremarkable town."
"Until I went to their church and unexpectedly saw........... the priest and knights there conducting some experiment on people."
"So I want you to go there and see what's really going on."
"This is the specific situation; you can take a look."
