Chapter 13: Planning for the Future

~8 min read 1,431 words

Sinuoli closed his eyes and began to recall his memories of the End Times from his past life.

As his thoughts deepened, his expression grew increasingly grim; in the original setting, the Chaos Demon Army was nearly infinite, the minions of the Four Gods were harvested and grew back like chives, and the power of the Skaven expanded to the extreme, advancing on multiple fronts and blooming from the center to turn the side of Order upside down.

Not only was the strength of the Order side inherently weak, but there were also a bunch of eccentrics holding scripts with zero feasibility and operating in a chaotic manner.

After a simple analysis, he determined that he could not allow the world to develop according to its original course, because he simply could not overcome many of the variables involved, and with his current abilities, he was no match for the key figures who drove the plot forward.

In the Warhammer World, the ultimate villains were the Chaos Gods, the four most important of whom were the Blood God Khorne, the Lord of Change Tzeentch, the Prince of Pleasure Slaanesh, and the Father of Decay Nurgle.

Before the Old Ones created the world, Chaos—the great enemy of all orderly beings—already existed; this so-called Chaos was the world of energy, Aether, also known as the Warp.

This world had no area, no height, and no volume. The only things that existed in this world were energy; energy was everything in the world, and the laws of the physical universe could hardly be applied to the principles of that world.

The energy of the Warp came from the material world, and the energy of the Warp could also interfere with the material world; this had quite a dialectical meaning to it.

Beings in the Warhammer material world provided energy to the Warp through various emotions, while the Warp interfered with the material world in the form of the Winds of Magic.

Originally, everything was calm, but four types of energy were too powerful, to the point that they became distorted and produced four twisted wills; these four twisted wills were the Chaos Four Gods.

Their power came from these emotions, and because mortals in the material world could never control their own emotions, the power of the Four Gods was infinite.

The reason they had not yet ruled the entire universe, besides the unyielding resistance of the Order side, was also due to the incessant, bloody infighting among the Four Gods; Khorne, who championed war and blood, despised the hedonism of Slaanesh, and the cunning and fickle Tzeentch was always obstructed by Nurgle, the embodiment of destruction and decay.

Beyond the Chaos Four Gods, one must also mention the Great Horned Rat—the most powerful minor Chaos god in Warhammer Fantasy, and the exclusive god of the Skaven.

Some say the Great Horned Rat created the Skaven, while others believe it was the collective consciousness of the Skaven projected into the Warp that formed the Great Horned Rat. Although there is no consensus on how it was born, it is known that it gathered the worst aspects of the aforementioned Chaos Four Gods.

One must know that emotions, as a contradiction, conform to the law of the unity of opposites in dialectics; thus, although Khorne is the god of war and slaughter, he also presides over honor and loyalty; Tzeentch represents betrayal and complex schemes but is also the god of hope and wisdom; Nurgle is both the god of decay and disease but also presides over rebirth and compassion; and Slaanesh, despite being fallen and indulgent, also represents love and pleasure.

The Great Horned Rat, however, is the god of murder, betrayal, rot, and all negative atrocities. Unlike the Four Gods, He has no good side; He is a thoroughly rotten god.

Well, like all villains, the Chaos Gods for some reason all want to destroy this world, but because they check and balance each other, they cannot free themselves and cannot personally destroy the world, having to rely on their lackeys.

Their core troops, besides various low, mid, and high-tier Daemons, also included Greater Daemons and Demon Princes as commanders.

Demon Princes were transformed from mortals who worshipped the Chaos Gods through an ascension ritual; becoming a Demon Prince was the highest honor for a Chaos follower, and they were powerful and lived forever.

The Greater Daemons were the true core of the Chaos Gods, and they generally possessed the distinct characteristics of the gods; Greater Daemons of different Chaos gods had different names: Khorne's Greater Daemon was called a Bloodthirster, Tzeentch's was called a Lord of Change, Nurgle's was called a Great Unclean One, and Slaanesh's was called a Keeper of Secrets. By the way, the Great Horned Rat also had its own Skaven Greater Daemon—the Decaying Lord.

Regrettably, although these guys were powerful, due to their infighting and the weakening of their power upon arriving in the Zhu Wu-zhi Wei-mian from the Warp, they were not enough to destroy this world.

To solve this problem, the Four Gods decided to join forces to create a leader with sufficient strength, and this leader was known as the Everchosen.

These guys are ones that our protagonist Sinuoli will gradually encounter in the later story, and we will introduce them then.

Facing such powerful opponents, Sinuoli could not help but feel a bit lost; compared to the great power of the Chaos Gods, the power of the Ancestor Goddess Valaya, who brought him to this world, could only be considered a firefly competing with the bright moon.

But he was, after all, no longer that original High Prince; the knowledge from his past life gave him a brand-new worldview and methodology, and the thoughts of that great man he learned in university pointed him in the direction forward.

First, Sinuoli clarified the diplomatic program he would implement: unite all forces that can be united, utilize all contradictions that can be utilized, form the broadest united front, and isolate and strike at the main enemy to the greatest extent.

Put into specific practice, this meant doing his best to resolve the internal and external troubles of traditional Order-side allies like the Lizardmen, Bretonnia, and the Empire of Man, and while twisting their strength into a single rope, also trying to win over neutral forces like the Tomb Kings and Ogres, and even factions of Greenskins and Dark Elves.

On one hand, fight against their bad sides, and on the other, give them certain benefits; by this method, one could minimize the number of enemies, leaving only the Chaos races and their most loyal lackeys.

Strategically, he also decided to implement the great man's thoughts: first, take the annihilation of the enemy's effective strength as the main objective of combat, not the preservation or capture of cities and places; the capture or preservation of cities and places is the result of annihilating a large amount of the enemy's effective strength (here, a certain Lord Belegar is named).

To annihilate the enemy's effective strength, one must implement the principle of concentrating superior forces to annihilate the enemy one by one. Strive to fight battles of annihilation, and in special circumstances, one can also adopt the method of giving the enemy a devastating blow;

Strive to avoid wars of attrition that are not worth the loss or where the gains and losses are equal—considering the low fertility rate and small population base of the Dwarfs as a long-lived race, fighting a war of attrition with the chive-like Chaos forces is clearly inadvisable.

To achieve a battle of annihilation, one must prudently choose the direction of the strike and the target of the attack, striking the dispersed and isolated enemy first, and the concentrated and powerful enemy later. In every battle, concentrate superior forces, surround the enemy on all sides, and strive for total annihilation, leaving no one to escape.

I believe every player has had the experience of winning a battle only to have the enemy lord escape, and before long, he gathers another group of troops and makes a comeback, leaving one's own troops exhausted and unable to expand.

True truth is applicable in any situation; having completed the "Warhammer-ization" of the great man's thoughts, Sinuoli felt as if he had found a guiding light in the darkness.

He stretched, stood up, and prepared to go to the storage room to get some raw materials first, then mess around in the Forging Room; even if he had to cheat, he had to set up a decent scene!
